DELL LATITUDE C640 2.0GHZ 512MB 20GB DVD WIFI XP PRO LAPTOP

DELL LATITUDE C640 2.0GHZ 512MB 20GB DVD WIFI XP PRO LAPTOPThe dell computer I recieved was in very good condition although it has a minor scratch it is nothing to be upset about. With my initial order my restore CD was not included and the power cord had a small short..but I must say I would definately purchase from this company again, They quickly resolved any issues I had they even expressed me a new power cord and my restore cd to make it right..Again definately I would recommend purchasing from this company again.

The laptop was purchased for only one reason to run the DryFire USA Trap program. The unit works really good. Because it is a reconditioned unit, I found that the battery would not fully recharge. Bought a new battery from batteries&butter for $64.00. It is a top notch unit now. This should be the only problem that you should have.

It was delivered before the time indicated by UPS. Oh yes, you do not get a manual with the unit, but you can download the manual at the Dell site.

I received a laptop that was described as like new, the laptop was physically dirty, had many scratches on the screen and body, and came with a dead battery. The decscription and technichal details said that it came with 512 RAM and a dvd drive but came with 256 RAM and a CD drive. when i wrote to him about it, he told me that i should have read his comments to find those details. He should have written the correct details in the description in the first place.

Dell Inspiron 14z i14z-2004sLV Ultrabook - 14-Inch - 3rd Gen Intel Core i3 - 6GB RAM - 500GB HDD+32

Dell Inspiron 14z i14z-2004sLV Ultrabook - 14-Inch - 3rd Gen Intel Core i3 - 6GB RAM - 500GB HDD+32GB SSD - Moon SilverI have had this ultrabook for a couple months, and I am so glad with it. The placement of keys is perfect, keyboard feels terrific, making typing a pleasure. keyboard even comes with a backlight.

Overall, this is a very nice, very responsive ultrabook. much much better than I expected. Great design, light and slim, also comes with a very powerful 3rd Gen i3 processor. The SSD+HDD concept makes it run so much faster and quieter than the old HDD only. 14-inch is the perfect size to carry around, yet can provide big enough screen.

Great BUY!!!!!!

Asus P53 P53E-XB31 15.6-Inch Laptop

Asus P53 P53E-XB31 15.6-Inch LaptopThis review only apply to people who use lab top for business use only and nothing else. All gamer and movie watcher please move on.

I like the design and the look. It is a little heavy for carrying around but it is not a problem for me. I like the robust look and tough build. The keyboards are not as responsive, I have to figure it out if there is any adjustment can be made. I have to slow down a little bit when I type. Again, these are just my little things that can be improved but no mean a bad thing that you cannot do without.

I would recommend this Lab top, for the price you can't complaint.

Basically as advertised.I probably would get another one if I need another work laptop. Probably needs. Ore memory. That's it

I have owned my Dell Laptop for a year and have no complaints. It can get pretty warm with graphic intense games, but so did my old laptop, which would freeze up every few minutes. My favorite features are the backlit keyboard and slot-load DVD drive. I miss the plethora of USB slots, and prefered the earphone jacks up front, instead of on the side, as they are on the XPS. The screen makes movie-watching fun. I carry it to work almost daily and reccomend a case of substance as it feels quite heavy. Probably not a good idea for a travel laptop; it is billed as a desktop replacement, but it works well for me on the go.

HP Pavilion DV6T-7000 Quad 2.30-3.30GHz i7-3610QM 8GB 1TB 5400RPM HDD 15.6" FullHD 1080P Blu-Ray ROM

HP Pavilion DV6T-7000 Quad 2.30-3.30GHz i7-3610QM 8GB 1TB 5400RPM HDD 15.6' FullHD 1080P Blu-Ray ROMThe computer is a work of art. Never gets hot, unless playing Crysis 2. While playing crysis 2 this computer can easily perform 4-5 tasks while playing and switch screens in around 1-2 seconds using hardcore graphics. Now Skype, Chrome, WMP, and Starcraft 2 are an easy cake playing on Extreme graphics. The computer is light weighted and the HP logo lighted on the back is awesome. beats Audio is great for my guitar rig 5 and creating some beats on CUBASE 6.5. This computer is everything I expected. The only bad thing to say about it is the incorporated mouse buttons wich they make a weird noise when pressed. everything else is working on perfect conditions. So good so far!.

Yay first customer review ever (probably because this was the most expensive thing I have bought on Amazon)

Laptop came a day early, so great delivery from the company. I'm no computer guru but here are my thoughts:

PROS:

-Very fast startup/shutdown

-Stays relatively cool (gets a little hot when playing graphic intensive games)

-Around 5.7 pounds (rather lightweight for its specs/size)

-Keyboard is comfortable to use esp. with backlight

-Powerful graphics card (Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 run smoothly with maxed out settings after a bit of startup lag)

-Fast processing (switching and opening many windows/games is very quick)

CONS:

-Fan can get pretty loud and hot esp. when gaming (well i guess its expected for a laptop)

-Battery life is less than 2 hours for gaming

-Mousepad might feel a little cheap and has a little annoying noise when you press it

-Bloatware (though not as much as some comps)

-Powerbrick might be inconvenient

-Beats audio is relatively good, but does not reach expectations (use headphones for better experience)

Overall, the pros outweigh the cons by a boatload, as the cons are just a few annoying tidbits I found. Not an absolutely perfect laptop, but for the price, I recommend to everyone, especially gamers.

I bought my Pavillion dv6 in april and the BEATS audio has never worked right. The volume level fluctuates when playing music...doesn't matter what program is used...they all do it....Itunes, Zune and Windows Media. It also doesn't matter if the laptop speakers are used or headphones or external speakers. HP tech support told me my laptop needed to be repaired. There are several threads on the HP online forum discussing this very issue and it's happening on all different HP models. The root cause is the driver used for the BEATS audio. HP says they're going to fix the driver but I'm not holding my breath. Make sure you check this out before buying!!!!

Asus K52F-BBR5 Laptop PC

Asus K52F-BBR5 Laptop PCi have had this laptop for sometime now and after messing around with it for a couple of days i fell in love i had an hp pavilion and that had alot of things that didnt work, so fr everything is working smoothly, the touch pad is pretty big and has some basic multi touch features and works pretty good even though im not the biggiest fan of them, the keypad is amazing! very comfortable and theres a set aside number pad!! 15.6 is big enough for me to edit videos on and the quad processor keeps it running i did upgrade it to 8gb of ram which u dont really need to do unless u plan on using A LOT of programs at once i left with the original 3gb for awhile it ran fast enough until i put final cut and premiere pro on here.over all its great deal i got mine under 400 at another store but i would still pay 500 for this laptop know what i know.

This laptop has been great for me so far. Picture and sound quality are good and has a pretty fast processor. I have downloaded most of the Adobe cs6 suite and the programs run smoothly. The only thing, the webcam on the computer was flipped when trying to use skype. I tried looking up how to fix it online but I wasn't able to. Overall great computer for a fantastic price.

Buy Asus K52F-BBR5 Laptop PC Now

I bought this unit for a friend of mine as a gift. I have heard that Asus brand is good and is built to last. This unit (Asus K52T-BBR5) failed right out of the box. I could not make it to stay on and log in. It would shut down and reboot itself, unless I switch to safe mode.

I contacted Amazon to return the item. Amazon referred me directly to the seller. The seller was take4less. I did not have a good experience communicating with the seller. Initially he agreed to take it back for a full refund plus the cost of return shipping. He never sent me the return label as he promised. It would take several days before he would respond by email. After he got the unit back, he claimed that the unit is working fine!

Not what I expected to experience on Amazon. As of today 5/7/12, I have not received my refund yet. My overall experience has been very poor. I will not purchase any electronic products from Amazon.

Sony VAIO VGN-FW455J/B 16.4-Inch Laptop - Black

Sony VAIO VGN-FW455J/B 16.4-Inch Laptop - BlackA couple of months ago I decided to upgrade from my toshiba satellite laptop. I was going to buy another toshiba until I came across this during my research and decided this laptop was the best bang for my buck. What do I like about it? Everything!! I love the large memory and the 320g hard drive is double of my toshiba. I don't regret jumping from toshiba brand to sony. The built in webcam and microphone are great. They work perfectly with aim, yahoo, and skype. I was easily able connect to my wireless router without reinstalling the software. The only downside is the battery. I will be ordering a large capacity battery soon. I can't wait hook up my sony hd camcorder and start editing my home videos. I would definitely recommend this laptop to friends.

All in all, its good value for money

Just remember to upgrade the wireless adaptor drivers from Intel as the default one keeps dropping connection.

Buy Sony VAIO VGN-FW455J/B 16.4-Inch Laptop - Black Now

Short and sweet, this laptop kicks @$$!!! For the price, you go so much included in this bad boy: Blu-ray player/burner, video with 1GB dedicated RAM, 16+ in screen, 4GB RAM upgradable to 8GB, decent sized hard drive, I mean the list goes on. Just look at the description and you see what you get. I think for 1000 dollars this computer is well worth it. One bonus, don't know for how long, but if you buy now you should get a free upgrade for Windows 7 when it is released. If you haven't already heard, it is getting great reviews. So if you don't like Vista, you can hold out for 7 when it gets released in the fall. If you are looking for a laptop, look no further than this Sony Vaio. You will love it.

Dell Inspiron i14RN-1227BK 14-Inch Laptop (Diamond Black)

Dell Inspiron i14RN-1227BK 14-Inch LaptopAt this price, this machine is a steal. It has the capability of a full-fledged computer and the convenience of an extremely portable laptop. At just over 5 lbs. it's certainly heavier than a tablet, a Macbook Air or an ultrabook, but then again it has all the advantages of a "real" computer. Responsiveness is outstanding since Windows 7 is a great OS, certainly when compared to Vista. Even compared to Apple's OS X, Windows 7 performs quite well, although it is of course much more "labor intensive", which is another way of saying that it's not quite as user friendly. On the plus side, it provides what is possibly the most widely used software platform in the world. All in all you can't go wrong with this device if you are looking for something that provides heavy lifting computing power as compared to a tablet or even an ultrabook.

Before choosing this laptop I researched the other options in amazon and other websites and I believe this one has the best value for the price.

A few things to note on it's favor:

Did not come dead on arrival (DOA).

Windows Installation was fast.

Can run entertainment apps / casual and social gaming perfectly.

I love the idea of being able to use different covers (I have not tried it yet).

The trackpad's surface is one of the best I have used so far.

The battery holds it's charge as described and intended.

The internal speakers have great power, enough to watch a video in a medium-size living room without plugging other speakers.

Wireless adapter is pretty strong, it can list-down wireless points that my desktop adapter can't.

Some downsides:

Comes with the already-known Bloatware, simply uninstall all those pesky useless programs/games/antivirus.

After modifying the mouse / trackpad settings I got a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) STOP Error: 0x000009f DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE (This problem occurs because of a race condition between two bus resets.). However, after I updated Windows 7 everything seems to be in order now.

It's glossy, expect a lot of fingerprints on it.

Multi-gesture trackpad feature doesn't work 100%, it seems not to be so accurate.

The Trackpad can get warm when running process-extensive software or features but not to a point it is uncomfortable.

I have yet to find anything that ruins my experience, reason why I scored the laptop a 5. I will update this review in case it's necessary and let you know.

Buy Dell Inspiron i14RN-1227BK 14-Inch Laptop (Diamond Black) Now

I was in the market for a small laptop for school. Because the computer would be traveling as much as I do I didn't want to spent a lot nor did I want a overly large machine. I was contemplating on a net book before I came across this.

For the price you can't beat it. The Intel core i3 2.30GHz processor with 6G ram make it fast enough for just about everything you would possibly need it to do. The 446GB hard drive is large enough for most folks, just don't try to store your entire movie collection on there.

The reviews that I did read questioned a few things. One was over the graphic quality of the monitor. I found no issue with it. I'm sure for someone involved in editing photos or animation this laptop wouldn't do it, but for less than $500 your not going to get those sort of capabilities.

There are some bad reviews out there over the battery. Battery performance is based on how long the computer will hold power under the most ideal of circumstances. Heavy use, such as movie watching and gaming, and the use of outside peripherals will reduce your battery life. Even using the built in wi-fi antenna will reduce your battery life. This holds true for all laptops I have used over the years. Sony, Avertec, Toshiba, and HP were no exception. This is my first Dell computer.

There are only two issues that I have with the computer and they are minor. The first one is its lack of software. It does come with ms-office starter. Word on it has a lot of the functionality of it removed so for a student you will need to get another word processing program or update your starter edition. (openoffice.org has one downloadable for free. It also doesn't come with copies of the software so you will need 3 recordable dvds in order to make your backups.

The other issue is the cover. This laptop is party of the Dell Inspiron series with the switchable covers. While I like the black and won't get another cover for it I have no idea how to remove it and the documentation in the box gave no explanation on this.

I am extremely satisfied with this machine and have no regrets in purchasing it

Bought one of these a few weeks ago to use for a sports club I administer. Needed a simple machine to do basic taskse-mail, web browsing, word processor....and to run a sports meet software. Great machine for these basis tasks. Price point is super, cheaper than many tablets or even in some cases a cell phone, and much more capable. Tested WiFi in an area where most cell phones and computers have trouble with weak signal, and this works great. Runs cool, battery life even with the basic battery is good, and weight is light enough to make it easily used on a...laptop. HDMI output is great, I hooked this up to my projector with no issues. Connectivity options for USB, HDMI, eSATA great for this price range. Overall this is a great price on a premium brand laptop with super solid features.

Want Dell Inspiron i14RN-1227BK 14-Inch Laptop (Diamond Black) Discount?

I am delighted with this purchase. I use it for business about 12 hours every day of the week. Staples had these on sale for $449 and was giving a $100 Visa card rebate with every purchase, so I could not resist the sub $400 price.

Pros: The PC is fast and reliable. Boot time and wake up time is *much* faster than my old Compaq Vista. Win7 is a much faster and user-friendly OS than Vista or XP. 6 Gig of memory on this laptop ensures the applications run smoothly and seamlessly with many windows open at once. The laptop is relatively small and light yet has pretty much all the features of a powerful desktop. Keypad feels very nicely when you are typing. The trackpad has some neat new features and is very adjustable. Machine automatically shuts off the trackpad when you plug in a mouse.

Cons: Battery only lasts 3 hrs if you are using the machine. It says 6 hrs when you mouse over the battery icon when fully charged. Also the ports are not labeled on the edges of the typing surface of the machine so you have to crane your neck to find the locations of the USB ports or the power jack if you are trying to connect something.

Samsung NP300V5A-A06US 15.6-Inch Laptop

Samsung NP300V5A-A06US 15.6-Inch LaptopVery sturdy, and well build. I really fail to understand the poor reviews.

Pros:

The laptop is very sturdy. it is not going to fall apart or break easily. I think that I will be able to get many years out of it. I saw one complaint about the cooling system, which I strongly disagree with. I never have had any heat issues, and the computer is normally very cool to the touch, and you can very comfortably use it on your lap without having to worry about the heat, no kidding, this thing gets no hotter than a paperback book! The fan never comes on, and when it does, it is very quiet. When I am playing 3D games, which this computer can easily pull off, The fan gets a little bit louder, and you can feel some heat, but this is very normal. It is still completely usable, and doesn't get that hot. The performance is spectacular on this machine, Programs launch very quickly, and games run smoothly. The Pentium Dual Core B950 is essentially an i3, minus hyper-threading and processor virtuialization. What this means is that is is slightly, but not noticeably, slower than an i3, and you will not be able to run certain virtual machines on it. You could not make a hackintosh out of this. (run OSX on it)If you don't know what these terms mean, don't worry about it, you wont ever need it. 4 Gigabytes of ram makes it smooth and fluid. I recently got a message warning me that I had not rebooted it in over a month, and it would speed up if I did. After a month, I still have not noticed any performance issues. It has been either on or "sleeping" the whole month. If you are using it as a student, great! All the MS Office programs open in about one or two seconds, which is pretty good, comparatively speaking. Aero runs smoothly, and the transparency effects are great! The keyboard is wonderful, I really like the design, as it makes typing really easy. it is similar to a MacBook keyboard. The trackpad is also great, It is large and easy to use. It also ignores when your palm goes across it when typing, a great feature. Again, It is very Mac-Like. (Samsung is the maker of Mac Keyboards, Screens, and trackpads. this is no coincidence!) The built in webcam is great, it goes up to 1280x1024. This is spectacular! it is very sharp, and vivid. it works well in low light. It is HD, too! The screen is anti-glare, and very nice! I really like it! The ports are strategically placed, which is a great feature! Oh, and the battery really does last 7 hours when you are browsing the web on low power mode. about 5 hours on "Samsung Optimized," and 3 on High Performance, for games.

Cons:

There are no lights on the caps lock, number lock, and Scroll lock buttons, it pops up on the screen when they are on.

The caps lock is easy to hit accidentally.

The back lid scratches easily, keep it in a laptop bag!

It is what it says and what I expected to be. Beautiful, Light, Slim, Cam&Mic embeded, Bluetooth, Quick, etc. Great value for my money, endeed.

Buy Samsung NP300V5A-A06US 15.6-Inch Laptop Now

I bought 2 of these and I was very impressed. They gave great performance and I loved their durable shell. Unfortunately the ac-in on both broke quickly. First the cords would just slip out easily. But finally one, and then a few months later the other, just stopped accepting a charge completely. Now I have 2 paperweights. Fortunately I only bought them about 8 months ago from Costco and I'm hoping that I can get them repaired or replaced.

Also, one of the charging cables failed after only about 5 months. I had to buy a replacement from Amazon for around $30.

I particularly was pleased that it wasn't over-bundled with a bunch of useless software. We mostly used it for Internet, DVD watching, connecting to TVs to watch movies. It was great for those tasks.

If it wasn't for the ac issue, I'd have given this product 4 or 5 stars because it was a great product for the price.

Stay away from this unit and all Samsungs that have this same body style. The cooling system is awful, housing 100% very thin plastic,

Video and Cpu processors are combined on the Intel B950 and the cooling system can't keep up.

I have owned 2 of them both had same problem. Don't even think of playing any kind of 3D game useless you do I what I did and take the entire system motherboard out of case and put a 120mm FAN on top of the CPU heat sink and add Artic Sivler thermal paste.

If you do not know anything about computers stay away from this one.

Want Samsung NP300V5A-A06US 15.6-Inch Laptop Discount?

I normally like Samsung products and I assumed this would be another good one, but boy was I wrong! I haven't even had this thing a year and I hate it SO DAMN MUCH. Only reason I'm keeping it is because I'm too broke to get a new one.

For the first month or so, this thing ran great. After that, it started acting up. Keep in mind I don't do anything on this computer except surf the web and read, I don't play video games, load movies, or watch too many Youtube videos etc., even though it says this computer is great for ALL of these activities, I don't do them and I doubt this piece of crap could handle the load.

First thing is over heating. Now, I know laptop can get hot, especially if you use them for a while, but this laptop gets so hot sometimes I honestly fear it's going to explode.

Next, the screen cuts off or on at random times! The worst thing is when you close the lid. On my other laptops, when I open the laptop, the screen cuts on. Not this thing! Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Really depends on it's mood. When it doesn't turn on, hitting the escape key, touching the mouse pad, hitting ANY key doesn't make the screen cut back on. You have to close the lid, and open it, and keep doing this until it turns on. I average about 4 turns before it finally decides to come on. I have no idea what the problem is, tried googling it, didn't get any results.

Watching videos on this computer sucks. Although it claims to have a good video processor and graphics card, the videos look like crap and have the tendency to cut out or turn grey and pixelated in parts of the movie. I've updated my drivers and everything, still doesn't work right.

Finally, this thing is SLOW AS A SNAIL. I don't download much, and I always go through routine defragging and using CCleaner to keep things running. For my other laptops, this worked fine, not for this POS. I don't download much and when I do, it typically e-documents that don't take up any space. Hell, right now as I type this it says I'm only using 29% of the space available on my PC!

This thing sucks and I regret buying it. Worst laptop I have owned.

HP ProBook 4720s XT949UT Notebook PC (Intel Core i7-620M 2.66GHz, 4GB DDR3, 500GB HDD, DVDRW, 17.3

HP ProBook 4720s XT949UT Notebook PC This thing is nice but now out of date so I do not think there are any new ones going around, but to talk about this for a moment it's like this. I have a ProBook 4510s that I carry around that I love cause it's small, this 4720s is just like that but with a larger screen which is nice but heavier to carry and now that I am getting use to Windows 7, sort of, I like that as well, although I will keep all my XP systems as XP. I also have the ProBook 4730s and to compare the two it's like this. More money for the 4730s and it has the finger reader built in so it's a bit nicer. Other then that there the same, least I think they are, for I do not overload the memory and such to notice a difference.

So, that's my short version of this laptop. O, also like the finish on the outside over the slick black of my older 4510s that shows every fingerprint.

PS>i bought an open box one and was worried a bit but see no issues with it.

Dell XPS 15z XPS15z-72ELS Laptop (Elemental Silver)

Dell XPS 15z XPS15z-72ELS LaptopBought this system based on a friend's recommendation who works for Dell. Also was a strong Dell loyalist for over 10 years because my previous laptops were all Dell. Unfortunately my experience with this system has been fraught with troubles.

My new laptop arrived and setup was a breeze. However within a week the batter stopped charging and was disabled. After hrs on the phone with Dell and everyone assuring me this was a unique problem, they sent me a new system. guess what same problem 10 days later. Another 2 days on the phone with their customer service folks in Hyderabad who kept trying to fix the problem. Ultimately they sent in a technician who replaced the battery and the system has been working fine since then. They extended my warrant by 4 months to compensate me for my troublesi guess i should have just bought a refurbished one which is what I essentially got for buying their top of the line laptop.

Now a month later, the wireless card has started acting up. If I step into a room away from where the router sits, it randomly disconnects and tries to connect. Its disconnected 90% of the time. Funny thing is I have a 6 year old Dell Inspiron which works fine and streams video movies without once dropping the signal sitting right next to this machine. I've tried new wireless routers but the problem persists. Called their customer service and they claim it is a software issue without even looking at it and want to charge me to troubleshoot the problem. Dell's service was one thing going for thembut i'm afraid that has started to suck too now.

I would strongly discourage anyone from buying this unless you enjoy being on the phone with a service technician being bumped from hardware to wireless to software to XPS support teams.Other than that it seems like a pretty decent machine that looks sleek, works well when no issues.

I have owned several brands of laptops in all different size screens, but I have mostly stayed with Dell. I opted for all the bells and whistles on this one such as a higher resolution 1080 and the Core i7. Therefore, the configuration is higher end than the one listed here. But, basically it is the same computer. This XPS 15z is by far the best one I have had to date. I might add that I also have a MacBook Pro 15 inch. Both computers have their good points, but overall I prefer this Dell XPS.

The design is similar to the MBP, yet keeps a distinctive style. The keys on the keyboard are well spaced and the key travel works just fine and I find it easy to use. And of course, the backlit keyboard really comes in handy. I have had this feature before and love it. The screen resolution and brightness is fantastic, very sharp and clear. The speed is, well, fast. What else can I say. Everything just zips right along. The sound quality is above average for a laptop. The large touchpad is well placed and also easy to use.

I really cannot fault this computer at all. Even though nothing is perfect, I have yet to find anything I don't like. I am just not the type that will complain about the cup holders in a Lexus. That is pointless.

If you want a high end laptop, then I highly recommend this Dell XPS 15z. Give it a try and see for yourself.

I bought this laptop in 07/11 when it was newly launched. I must admit that the looks got me. Dont get me wrong, its a decent laptop. Sleek looks, good display, light weight and decent battery life...it had it all going for it. Until one day, out of the blue, when I got a message while starting it up "the battery has been temporarily disabled. Please turn off your computer and try it again when the unit is at operational temperature". Initially, I thought that the system might have gotten overheated, but with a surrounding temperature of

Sony VAIO VPCS132FX/S 13.3 Notebook PC - Silver Intel Core i3-380M

Sony VAIO VPCS132FX/S 13.3 Notebook PC - Silver Intel Core i3-380MFor the price $599 I spent on this laptop there is not too much more we can request so I'm happy at the moment. The speed is "ok", the design and size is perfect. It's very comfortable to carry. I wished to have a Blue Ray DVD Player instead a regular DVD drive as other Sony VIAO series "14 inches Screen Size" provide but I can't say either that I wasn't aware before making my decision to purchase this laptop. I heard that the battery doesn't last for too long but to be honest I haven't used it so much until to run the battery dead and provide my feedback about it. In my opinion is you are still waiting for the laptop of your dreams but it seems that it is not still out there in the market like to risk over $2,800 I suggest to buy one laptop "Cheap" like this one so you can still have something in your hands while traveling, play around with the internet, get your job done and later on to buy that "Mercedez Benz" laptop of your dreams.

HP PAVILION NOTEBOOK DV7-2185DX 2.0 GHz Intel Core2 Quad Processor Q9000 Processor, 500GB HARD DRIV

HP PAVILION NOTEBOOK DV7-2185DX 2.0 GHz Intel Core2 Quad Processor Q9000 Processor, 500GB HARD DRIVE, 6GB RAM, 17.3' LCD LAPTOP PC -I've had this computer for a few days now and I really like it. The display is very bright (actually had to turn it down at night) and clear. Processing speed is great and the 1gb of dedicated (yes I said dedicated) graphics memory is more than I could ask for from an off the shelf computer. ProtectSmart feature for the hard drive is a nice addition (senses if laptop is being dropped and locks the hard drive).

I just wish that it had a Blu-ray player and integrated Bluetooth that I saw on some lower priced models. See the review at

So far this computer has done everything I have asked of it. One thing of note is to make sure your programs you are going to install are 64bit compatible. I downloaded some demo software and found out it wouldn't work.

Also this model is eligible for a free upgrade to Windows 7 if purchased between June 26, 2009 to January 31, 2010.

Gateway NE56R31u Celeron Dual-Core B830 1.8GHz 4GB 320GB DVD±RW 15.6' LED Windows 8 NotebookI bought this particular laptop from a different vendor (starts with W and ends with T), but overall it works great. Has more memory than I could ever need. Hasn't acted up or froze (which is a common Acer problem). Windows 8 is kind of goofy, really miss Vista, but theres a way to disable 8 and go back to Vista or 7. Intel processor super fast, use this computer to shop on amazon and run my miles (Im a truckdriver).

Gateway 15.6" Laptop 4GB 320GB | NE56R31u

When I purchased this I was looking for something with great graphics, wide keyboard, and lightweight. I must say I have all that plus a good amount of memory...

The con of this product the speakers SUCK! I have to order a portable because at the highest volume you still barely can hear, and when I am watching movies or videos I want to hear, also I love to play Sims 3 and I have to be able to enjoy my game time.

I would say this is a product I don't regret purchasing, my teenager is asking for it since day one.

HP G6-1B60US Notebook PC (Charcoal Gray)

HP G6-1B60US Notebook PCOverall the HP G6-1b60us is a good balance of features, performance and price only the loud cooling fan keeps it from being great. The display is bright, the keyboard has a good feel and the large off-center touchpad makes a lot of sense for anyone that operates a mouse with their right hand. The mouse buttons below the touchpad are a bit stiff, but for light usage don't seem overly difficult. Performance is about what I expected from a budget laptop model with Windows 7 being ready for use in just under 20 seconds (prior to loading any of your own programs). The computer is very easy to setup out of the box with smart and simple setup menus to guide you through initial startup of the system, and fortunately HP has left a lot of 3rd party trial software off the system saving you time from having to remove software that just slows your system down from the start.

The one standout weakness of this computer is the constant, unwavering system cooling fan noise. If you are someone bothered by the constant "shhhh" noise of a small computer fan, this computer is NOT for you. In a quiet room the fan will be very noticeable particularly if the laptop is on a hard surface such as a table where the sound is reflected back at you. The one setting related to the system fan (the ability to disable the fan from a setting of "Always on" in the system BIOS) seems to have no effect on the speed or time of operation of the fan in this model. The fan is louder than every high-performance laptop computer I have used at work over 10 years, and is perhaps necessary for the AMD processor in this system, but it is the only disappointment in an otherwise solid entry level laptop. A summary of pros and cons as I see them from my use of system are below.

Pros:

* Good ergonomics Bright display, solid keyboard feel, well placed touchpad

* Very good sound The Altec Lansing speakers produce very clear sound and volume for an entry level system and are placed in a smarter location than many laptops that place them on top where they collect dirt and other debris

* Sturdy construction Large display hinges feel solid, the unit doesn't flex easily and materials used in construction appear of good quality

* Good performance The system is reasonably quick for any standard computing needs, and could be further improved with replacement of standard 5400 rpm hard drive

Cons:

* Loud system fan noise Constant, unchanging fan noise can be quite noticeable in quiet rooms or on hard surfaces

* Few hardware configuration options Related to the fan in particular, no ability via BIOS or Windows settings to manage cooling fan operation even by reducing CPU performance

* Poor access to memory/hard drive If you want to add memory or change to a faster hard drive or SSD in the future the access panel is snapped in by plastic tabs that are guaranteed to break off with more than one removal

Other information:

Windows Experience Index ratings for the system running Windows 7 Premium 64-bit as configured out of the box are: Processor: 5.4, Memory: 5.9, Graphics: 4.6, Gaming graphics: 6.2, Primary hard disk: 5.9

In conclusion I would recommend this laptop if the price is under $500, but only for someone not annoyed by the kind of steady noise a computer fan can produce.

I believe this is a terrific value for someone who wants a laptop to do more than just web browsing, email, and word processing. It's fast enough and has adequate memory to work with video and music. We've been impressed with the keyboard, screen resolution, weight and "feel". The processor does its job effectively without any lag. For anyone who needs a good laptop and does not want to spend a lot of money this one is a great choice!

Got this laptop as my backup for when I DJ parties. My wife also uses it when I don't need it. Works & looks great. Light weight. Screen is bright. Just what I need for my basic needs. I couldnt resist the price $400 then signed up for their credit card and got $50 off of that. $350 for this laptop! Nice!

My favourite definition of quality is "fitness for use", more importantly especially when buying a laptop, headache free use. Whilst this laptop may be many things: solid build, nice design, HP support assistant software two thumbs up and all. This laptop should also come with a note saying headache attached as the battery stated "77% available, plugged in not charging" within 48 hours of its receipt thereby turning my smile into a frown :(.

I did research some laptops before choosing this one so there are some good points about this laptop and they are as follows:

Price: Not bad, but not great, @ USD $449.99 it was sweet enough for me to say yes to, however I quickly turned sour when I saw that within 72hrs of my purchasing the item the price had dipped to $379.99 USD. I wanted to cry! That's what I would have called a great price. This however only lasted for approximately 48 hrs before skyrocketing up to $479.99 (Had even considered buying another one @ $379.99, but these hopes were quickly dashed, felt as if I was on the Fed with prices moving up and down so sudden!y)

With regards to overall build etc a previous reviewer "MTM" had a really good take on it so I'll just copy portions of his/ her review and add my own spin.

Pros:

* Good ergonomics Bright display, solid keyboard feel, well placed touchpad (I would like to emphasize the touchpad, its like a fine metal grating, so the traction is out of this world!! (No more slipping and sliding)

* Very good sound The Altec Lansing speakers produce very clear sound and volume for an entry level system and are placed in a smarter location than many laptops that place them on top where they collect dirt and other debris (Whilst this may be true in a "quiet environment" the speakers otherwise perform in a noisy environment, headphones will be required, but I will put a hold on blaming HP for this as I believe its a trade off due to the fact that the speakers are SRS. So for some people the sound may be a CON)

* Sturdy construction Large display hinges feel solid, the unit doesn't flex easily and materials used in construction appear of good quality (I'll definitely agree to this!!. Like a Rock! Ok well maybe I exaggerate but it does not flex like those of another very popular Manufacturer's, when picked up by an edge.)

* Good performance The system is reasonably quick for any standard computing needs, and could be further improved with replacement of standard 5400 rpm hard drive. (Emphasis on the word "reasonably" whilst surfing via firefox, admittedly I was seriously multi-tabbing and had an excel sheet open Total Ram usage was noted as having reached 3.53GB of a total 4GB, with CPU usage frequently reaching 100%....should I be frightened?? I believe the problem is the processor as it has a 1.9ghz base with a very dismal 1 MB level 2 cache, Phoeey!!!).

Cons:

* Loud system fan noise Constant, unchanging fan noise can be quite noticeable in quiet rooms or on hard surfaces (Only a problem if you suffer from some sort of neurosis, or are trying to sleep with it on in the room! Didn't mind it most times.)

* Few hardware configuration options Related to the fan in particular, no ability via BIOS or Windows settings to manage cooling fan operation even by reducing CPU performance (Not really that big of a deal except in the 2 instances noted above)

* Poor access to memory/hard drive If you want to add memory or change to a faster hard drive or SSD in the future the access panel is snapped in by plastic tabs that are guaranteed to break off with more than one removal (Not sure haven't checked)

ADDITIONALLY:

PROS

Try connecting the lappy to a big screen via the HDMI port and maybe just maybe you may forget that the machine came with a defective battery. AMD Radeon(tm) HD 6480G Discrete-Class Graphics with up to "2037MB total graphics memory". They didn't lie at all HDMI all the way, plug and play, don't buy another laptop without it!!!!!!!!!!

-The Cam and Mic are fairly ok, no complaints!

CONS

*The laptops display has limited viewing angles as the it was built with the intention of being a power saver, this is not really a biggy unless more than on person is trying to watch a movie at the same time.

*The laptop display itself may be suspect as I've noted lots of horizontal lines flickering across it from time to time (but truth be told I was doing a windows update of the video drivers at the time so may be the reason for the isplay being antsy) and I cringe every single time....who knows maybe apart from a defective battery I got a defective display as well? Raises eyebrow.

*With regards to the DVD-RW drive it works but not so well if you're reading a disc with lots of pics or one that's been burn't for e.g. say more than 2 yrs ago the ROM starts vibrating and spinning at incredibly fast speeds. you can literally hear the disk coming into contact with the walls of the compartment an of course the explorer window freezes.

You may ask why based on the above didn't I send back the laptop.

Response I live in the Caribbean and it cost an additional $41 USD to ship it to my country. So thinking about the $41 USD to return it to the states and the other $41 USD to get another laptop with possibly of a defective everything???

Better the devil you know than the one you do not!

I contacted HP customer support and they shipped me a new battery free of charge. Paid $9 USD to ship it out of the US. I was however able to return ship the defective battery to HP free of charge via Fedex! (Good going HP at least you got that right!!)

My opinion this would be a steal of a deal at under $400 USD....saw Anthony D paid $399.99. Lucky guy!

Whats missing:

-Bluetooth

A better processor probably one with a 3mb cache @ 2.3 ghz??

With the above this laptop could easily have sold for $480 or so.

Toshiba Satellite P755-S5380 15.6-Inch LED Laptop - Fusion X2 Finish in Platinum

Toshiba Satellite P755-S5380 15.6-Inch LED Laptop - Fusion X2 Finish in PlatinumOkay, so I am one of those people that is EXTREMELY nervous when buying expensive things. The computer, happily, turned out to be a fantastic deal for what I got. The computer, most importantly is quick, don't worry, the first time you turn it on it may seem slow, but that is because it has a lot to set up, it only gets faster and faster. It came pre-loaded with google chrome and internet explorer pinned to the bar. As well as Toshiba Book Place and Toshiba App place. Both are pretty cool tools. It also comes with Microsoft 2010 Trial Program; I already bought Microsoft 2010, so I just typed in the product key. The key board is pretty cool, the keys are now back lit, but the mouse pad has a pretty bright light, as well as the lights above the keyboard (system control panel). It is a Windows 7 computer, has intel CORE i5, is energy star approved (energy friendly and shuts down to sleep to conserve engery. very nice. It is very asthetically please, which its chrome/black like finish. It has a premium sound system, and it sounds surprisingly good. It also has a very nice resolution and video quality. There are 4 USB slots (one of which is USB 3.0 sleep and charge), I like that. OH and a side note whenever you move the computer, a notification (which can be turned off) pops up saying that the hardrive has been moved to "safeplace" while it is being moved around too much. Cool feature, in case you are being to rough with it to prevent damage to the hardrive. There is also a security lock slot, a DC-IN, Optical disc drive, Microphone/Line-In jack, Headphone jack, Cooling Vents, RGB Port, Network Port, and HDMI Out Port. I really like that there is a seperate number pad off to the side, that happily, does not take away from the good size of the keyboard. It comes with a 1 year standard warranty by toshiba and a $10 dollar eMusic card (around 20 songs). I am really glad I got this computer, very nice, fast, easy to set up and understand. I recommend this to anyone looking for a great laptop for their money. Feel free to ask any questions, I WILL ANSWER :)

I purchased this Toshiba Satellite laptop as a birthday present to myself a few days ago and am not disappointed. This is my favorite computer among the MacBook and laptops that I own. This computer is the most powerful of all, and the 2nd Generation i5 processor is fantastic. The graphics display on DVD and Netflix videos is excellent and the harman/kardon speakers are awesome! Overall I am pleased so far with the operation of this laptop and the specs included are impressive for the cost. Also, the laptop cover is handsome and has interesting ridges that will hide potential scratches well. Please feel free to post questions. I will answer them if I can.

When my Dell Inspiron died, I used my husband's Toshiba S655 for a few days and realized how much I'd been missing. Amazon's offer of 12 monthly payments without interest charge enabled me to talk my husband into letting me order this one, and it arrived today. Setup was super easy, download of my current antivirus program and other things I needed to install went without a hitch, this thing is awesome!!!

Should I experience any problems down the road I will add comments, and I'll add an update as I get more familiar with the machine. But so far, so GREAT! And it hasn't gotten hot at all after several hours of work on it already, whereas the heavy Dell always needed a fan underneath and still blew hot air.

This laptop is a lot of bang for the buck, go for it!

I once was a big fan of Toshiba and its customer service. Not after my last two laptops. We bought this laptop for our son. Five months after the purchase, the operating system just shut down. I used a Linux startup disk to get to the hard drive to grab copies of his summer term papers. But the Toshiba rescue disks would not boot up -even though the Linux disk did. So Toshiba charged me $25 to ship the laptop to their repair facility. The repair facility tells me that the operating system is corrupt and that is not covered by the warranty. So they wanted another $25 to reinstall the operating system. And I am almost 100 percent sure this crash was NOT caused by a virus or spyware. I used to work someplace that cloned hard drives for our computers, and often the clones were crap and only worked for a short while before crashing. I think this is exactly what happened with this Toshiba, and they charged me to fix their defective product. I want the quality, customer-oriented Toshiba I knew in the early 2000s, not this passive-aggressive company that seems to think if the customer is unhappy it is the customer's fault.

UPDATE: The "new" Toshiba hard drive has crashed again, less than three months after the "repair." I'm not even bothering with Toshiba this time. I'm taking it to a local shop as if it never had a warranty. Why would I pay them another $50 to do another "warranty" repair.

I purchased this computer because I had an older one that lacked a web cam, and thought I'd just go ahead and purchase a new one and link the two computers. Firstly, the web cam picture was extremely blurry. Secondly, I was unable to link the two computers because the instructions were so confusing. But worst, it is impossible to get Toshiba customer service representative on the telephone. I got recordings, day after day, that because of the holidays their reps were busy but there was no holiday. And unlike companies that realize that they have long hold times and offer to call you back when someone is available, Toshiba just leaves you hanging, which runs up your cell phone bill.

I returned it, and spent $99 on an amazing, crisp, easy to use web cam. And by the way, Amazon was wonderful about the return. I recommend them!

Sony VAIO CW Series VPC-CW17FX/W - Core 2 Duo- 14- Inch Widescreen TFT 1366 x 768 ( WXGA ) - camera

Sony VAIO CW Series VPC-CW17FX/W - Core 2 Duo- 14- Inch Widescreen TFT 1366 x 768 - camera - icy whiteI researched for a while on a laptop, I wanted one that could process very well but also be used for fun on the go. A well rounded laptop without a price that would leave me in debt (being a college student). The Sony Vaio VPCCW17FX, meets all my needs and more.

Pros:

Just about everything, but specifically,

The keyboard: Possibly one of the most comfortable and ergonomic laptop keyboard I have ever typed on, I'm typing this review on the laptop right now. The keys are individual buttons with just the right spacing popped up out of the base of the laptop. It kinda reminds me of the Macbook keyboard. In fact the whole computer looks and feels like a macbook that was assimilated by Sony.

Features:

Blu-ray player with a HDMI output is a nice feature, most likely you already have a blu-ray player if you have a HDTV and are buying blu-ray discs, however its a portable one that you can just hook up to your HDTV and be ready to go.

This model also includes a SD card reader and a HG Duo reader right in the front, very convenient.

Touch pad is also very nice, has a good feel to it and the click buttons are actual buttons so you know exactly when you are clicking things, my only complaint with the touch pad is using the right side to scroll pages doesn't always work but it works well enough.

Intel core duo2 processor is fast makes this computer fly with the windows 7 home premium edition 64-bit default OS, I haven't had any performance issues yet and I was surely putting it to the test installing 3-4 programs at a time while downloading 2-3 more. Not a hiccup while the installations were in progress. Runs games well, on lower settings mainly due to the graphics card being the weakest component in the package for game play (according to the windows experience rating).

The 14.1 inch WIDE screen is beautiful with a LED back light, it doesn't ever seem to heat up, and the core itself stays cool for long periods of time. Some have the opinion that its a little small however I think its the perfect size for a portable computer, if I wanted a large screen I would just hop on my desktop PC

Easily accessible USB ports 2 on the left side 1 on the right, could use more but its pretty good.

It feels good, looks good and has a good weight to it, I've heard some people complain that its too heavy, however if it was any lighter I think it would feel cheap, the only thing that doesn't look top notch are the hinges, however they aren't flimsy or anything like that, and they flow well, so it leads me to believe that its just the light im looking at it in.

This laptop never ever seems to get hot, I had it on for 7 plus hours and it still felt cold to the touch. The only time I've ever felt heat from this laptop was when I was running graphics intensive games, where the left side of the laptop where the GPU (graphics card) exhaust is emitted heat, it got hot but not extremely burn hot, I'd also like to mention that only that part of the laptop heated up and no where else. Also worth mentioning is that when I exited the game, within minutes the GPU became cold to the touch again. This laptop seems to have a very efficient cooling system.

Another thing I'd like to point out that the laptop comes with a free ONE YEAR of TrackItback service from Sony, if you register your laptop with them. Basically you stick a sticker on your laptop saying that if its found to call the number and get a reward for returning the laptop. Its a nice service if you ever foresee yourself misplacing or forgetting it anywhere, although if I found this thing...well ID RETURN IT OF COURSE.

Cons:

Speakers are a bit soft for a Blu-Ray player, even at the max volume, its a bit on the softer side. Not a biggie since I will not be using the speakers for blu-ray playback, a handy set of headphones or ear buds easily solves this con.

Although the finish is beautiful, it makes me nervous to touch the computer, I leave fingerprints everywhere and I'm uneasy resting my hands on the rests beneath the keyboard, because it feels like I'm going to leave smudges.

Battery life is about 4 hours on normal settings (the settings that the computer comes with out of the box. You can choose to boost battery life by changing various settings though, such as screen brightness and the way the computer uses the battery life in order to facilitate faster processing.

Overall the pros for this laptop outweigh the cons, and I believe that its a great buy, especially if you get it on sale. I think Sony hit a home run with this laptop in both ascetics and hardware. Its honestly a powerhouse of a laptop for the price you are paying and I recommend it.

I don't understand why everyone rags on the graphics chipset in this laptop. It really isn't that bad.

Here I some games that I are very playable for me on medium and sometimes even high settings.

-Dragon Age: Origins(medium settings, native res, frame buffer enabled) 20 fps

-Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion(medium-high settings, hdr enabled, 1280x720) 20-30 fps

-Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2(high settings with no extras... there are one or two levels that have more demanding lighting effects that will force you to drop down to medium settings in order to maintain a stable framerate) 20 fps

-Crysis Demo (all Medium settings, no AA) 15-20 fps

-Sins of A Solar Empire (Max settings)30-40 fps

-The Sims 3 (Max settings)15-30 fps

I have heard that this laptop will also run assassin's creed on medium with playable frame rate. I have yet to test that claim.

This laptop will play most DX9 games fluently and plays DX10 games often on medium settings. Older popular games like WoW or Guild Wars would run very efficiently on this machine. I ran the crysis SP demo at very playable framerates using all medium settings. If you are a hardcore enthusiast gamer who wants to game in 1920x1080 resolution with x16Q AA all the time, then you probably won't find what you're looking for. However, if you're just an average joe who plays the game because it's fun and not just because it has a crapload of over-done HDR effects and hair splitting anti-aliasing, plus you just want a good, solid, decent machine for the price, then you should totally check out this laptop.

Here are the strengths of this laptop.

-Blue ray drive(and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg...nice)

-HDMI

-Firewire

-EXCELLENT cooling system...this thing stays safe even in the middle of game. Sitting on a pile of blankets.

-Good USB positioning

-Sleek look, very portable

-Card Reader

-Chicklet keyboard keeps cleaner than the other types and looks nice

-Webcam is a nice feature

-Solid build, doesn't flex or snap around much

-CPU is upgradeable

-DDR3 1066 Ram

-Wireless N

-Gigabit Ethernet

-Windows 7

-Bluetooth

-Display looks fantastic...excellent contrast and clarity, very vibrant colors.

Here are the weaknesses of this laptop.

-Battery life is not the worst I've ever seen, but still not especially good unless you put it in battery saver mode...which makes windows 7 look like crap. I think you can upgrade the battery, but I'm sure it costs an arm and a leg from sony.

-Finding driver updates for my graphics was a pain in the butt because sony's website was down for days and the correct driver package for this model is not available directly from nVidia's site.

-Considering that this laptop appears to be fully compatible, a P series core 2 CPU would have been nice. However, the t6600 is decent.

-(This is more a win7 issue, I think) I have trouble loading a desktop contrast/color profile. I always have to reset it...soemtimes it just flat out doesn't work.

-I don't really like how the bluetooth off/on is consolidated into the wireless off/on switch. I would have liked for that to be done separately. But it's a minor thing.

-The graphics do bottleneck when you try to run some games at high settings. But it's a low-profile laptop...what do you expect? It's very good for it's class.

In conclusion: Why do I give this laptop 5 stars? Because in my honest opinion, for the price/performance/quality, these weaknesses really aren't that bad...and they are even things that can be fixed. The CPU, from what I've investigated, CAN be upgraded to a faster one if you want the 1066 FSB and extra cache, the battery can be upgraded to an 8 cell if you want to shell out the cash. Drivers aren't really a huge issue for the graphics if sony would just make sure that their support site works. The graphics do what I want them to do, they run most games on medium settings and are more than sufficient for watching HD movies or Blue Ray.

This laptop was a Christmas present from my wife. It was a wonderful gift. I love this machine. I use it all the time. It is capable of all kinds of fun.

Here are all the things I do with it which work plenty effectively for my needs.

-Home Recording(music, guitars, tracks, etc. using cakewalk and a line 6 pod xt)

-Productivity(writing, document creation for work, powerpoint, etc.)

-PC Gaming

-Networking

-HD Video source(via hdmi)

-Skype Video Conferencing

-Presentation Display via a video projector(powerpoint, gaming, videos, etc)

I wish I'd read more reviews before I purchased my Sony VAIO VPCCW2 series laptop. I bought it new in February 2010, and now I own a very expensive paperweight. I paid for diagnostic at an electronics store and was told the motherboard is out. I called Sony customer service, but they wouldn't even address my issues without an additional $49.95 service fee to run diagnostics and troubleshooting on a laptop that won't even boot up. I use to think paying a little more would get me better quality, but that's not the case at all. Buyer beware...

I just want to address the people who keep bashing this computer and sony products. I have this same computer but in Red since october 2009. I absolutely love this computer and it has never given me problems. There is one trick i've realized with sony computers. You must use VAIO care which comes with the computer. It finds and fixes issues with the computer and prompts updates. You only have to use it when it automatically appears on ur screen. I've found that if I ignore it...the computer starts to act up. If i go ahead and start the VAIO care all the issues go away. I compare it to a whining child who will bother you until they get what they want. Lenovo® IdeaPad® Z570 Laptop Computer With 15.6' LED-Backlit Screen & 2nd Gen Intel® CoreTM i3-2310M Processor With Turbo Boost 2.0I needed a new laptop because my Dell Inspiron kind of died so, a friend recommended Lenovo. I am not at all disappointed! The physical make of the laptop is much better than my Dell. It feels much more durable, like actual metal! The Dell was all plastic (hence why the hinge broke off). Also, it is a bit lighter too, even though its more durable. More portable, too (nothing like a netbook though). The keyboard is NICE!!! It has a full numeric keypad which is great because I have many numeric login usernames/passwords. The keyboard does resemble an Apple keyboard (chiclet keys) but there are no complaints here, LOVE IT! The Trackpad is SO much better than my Dell, its textured! Its sensitive when you mean to scroll, or move your mouse around but not when you're just typing and your hand hits and the mouse goes who knows where! The old laptop would do that all the time, bought a wireless mouse and it helped. Have not used the wireless mouse on my Lenovo YET! It does come with Windows 7 Home Premium and a lot of unecessary applications installed at first, but it doesn't take long to unistall these. I have read that some people were hitting NumLock and the Arrow key instead of Backspace and Shift because they were smaller buttons than other keyboards...it just needs some adjusting to like any new piece of equipment. Another thing is that some have been complaining that you don't know when NumLock or CapsLock is on because there are no lights for them. Yes there are, they are near the power button. They are a bit small but use your eyes. The display is AMAZING! I have the brightness turned down almost as far as it will go and its as bright as the old Dell when it was turned all the way up (if not brighter)!! I haven't tried it outside yet to see what the display looks like outside because I intend on treating this laptop as my baby. Speakers: PERFECT! The old Dell had to have the volume turned up to the max and it was still difficult to hear. New, shiny Lenovo speakers are set at 10% and its louder than the sad Dell. It has 3 USB ports (just enough), HDMI (for sharing to a TV), ethernet port, and SATA USB. The pictures are a bit misleading, the laptop is almost a mocha color which is a nice change from black or white. It does get some fingerprints on the top, outside but nothing a shirttail won't fix. Battery life: WOW! I unplugged it about 45 minutes ago to start writing this review and the status is 83% & 4.5 hourse remaining. I have several internet windows running, an Instant Messaging program, and a large PowerPoint presentation. I haven't seen anything that can beat that yet!

As a student, I mainly need a computer for documents, presentations, a LOT of music and pictures. This, by far, exceeds my needs but I got it on sale so I couldn't pass it up! If you're looking for portability, battery life, fast processor, amazing display and great speakers, THIS is the computer to get! It might be a bit pricier but sometimes, you get what you pay for....

Very nice machine. Got it at office depot in 3days for $430...nice, fast, decent build. Exactly what I wanted for a realistic price. The other funny thing besides it saying it has turbo boost , which I can't find any info anywhere for an i3, is that it was suppose to come in silver. It is like a gunmetal color, not even close to silver, since I like this color better it works out great! I'm very happy 4 days in
