I am amazed at how capable this computer is. I use it for the basic functions of reading and writing E-mail, surfing the web, purchasing items on the web, paying my bills, watching youtube videos, watching DVD movies and keeping track of everything I write down on the computer.

Dell did a good job of refurbishing this 2005 model computer with an excellent operating system, Windows XP. The keyboard is excellent. The trackpad is good. The aspect of the display (similar to a movie screen) is great for spreadsheets and reading blogs. The clearness of the display is excellent.

The weight of the machine is not bad at all. It only has 2 USB ports but I use a 7-port expander to handle all my USB devices. The Kensington style locking port works well.

I usually upgrade my computers to the maximum RAM but this came with 1 GB and it has been just fine.

I have been buying Dell computers for many years and this is my favorite one so far.

I got it for my 26 yr old son for a birthday/Christmas gift, I did a lot of review reading and I also had some Amazon gift points accumulated so I really got a great deal, but when he opened it he was real quiet-for a long time-and I'm thinking "crap," I got an old relic and he's trying to think of a way to let me down gently and here it wasn't that way at all. He felt bad because I got him such a nice gift and I wanted to slug him for putting me through all of that unnesessary anxiety. He's had it rough lately and I wanted something special just for him and I know he's wanted one for a long time and this is perfect and the software on it is great and he truly is really, very happy, so, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I hadn't even opened up the laptop, it seems, and it began FALLING APART. The battery had zero charge, so I bought a replacement, and then the keyboard keys began falling off within a week or two. And then the hard drive died. The 1 GB of RAM is not enough for the laptop to function properly and you'll have a hard time even browsing the internet and using Word at the same time w/out upgrading the RAM on this device. Plus, my laptop just didn't work -I would not recommend buying from this vendor -Dell Latitude's are very solidly built laptops. This one fell apart immediately and now they are refusing the allow me to return the item. Filing a claim with Amazon!!!!!

Product arrived way ahead of scheduled time. Was exactly as described with Windows XP. I was really surprise to see that it was programmed with Microsoft Office 2007 including Publisher, Outlook and Adobe which I thought was awesome. Internet connection is very fast. Only downfall is that it is an older model which is a little heavy and it doesn't have the side keypad that is the only reason why I gave it 4 stars. The computer condition was great minor little scratches nothing too noticeable. Also, it came with the power cord. So, far I haven't had any problems. I will be ordering another labtop for my son. I'm happy with my purchase.
