ASUS F55A-ES01 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black)

All is well with this product except for the touchpad, and that may be more me than anything else. I have never really liked or gotten used to touchpads, so will use this laptop with a mouse. Good price on this unit, and I have no regrets.

Very happy with the computer and it came with a great price tag (considerably better than an HP!!). Just wish it didn't have Windows 8.

The laptop has performed great so far, especially considering its price ($280!!). Perfect laptop for a basic pc user (internet, email, word processing, etc.). Amazon also has some conflicting descriptions on which processor this includes. This model includesthe Intel Celeron B830 (1.8GHz) Sandy Bridge, NOT the AMD A4. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this laptop, thin and fairly lightweight considering it's size. It is also very well built, very solid feel and nice big keys with big lettering. Bought for my father who has some eye sight issues and this works great!

Unit came on time. It was a price purchase just as my Compaq 15.6 died. Keyboard is a nice size and works well, with just a bit of a bounce. Screen is nice and bright with a decent lateral and horizontal view. Problems right off the bat with explorer, froze and would not recover, the installed RAM is too little for that browser. Installed both chrome and FF and both worked well for a time or two. Than they also froze. Machine shut down and could not repair itself. Sent a message asking to clean itself and start all over. Hmm perfect time to send back.

Cannot say enough negatives about windows 8. Seems to have been designed by the devil for tablet morons. Nothing is intuitive for the experienced laptop user. Floating tiles, hidden menus and basics like on and off nowhere to be found. A forced consumer with little choice. So I am rating the unit and Windows a big one. Cannot go lower.

Purchased this on sale for family use. The machine is good enough for the price for general use but really miss not having a backlit keyboard. Everyone HATES Windows 8 so it is slowly being used more and more but we may wind up reloading the operating system.
