Lenovo E15 03193SU 15.6-Inch Laptop

Lenovo E15 03193SU 15.6-Inch LaptopI bought this computer to work with some older software to run my vinyl cutter. But in comparison with my Mac I just didn't feel like I wanted to invest my money towards a computer like this so I returned it. It was worth the price that I paid for it though.

I purchased this laptop (Lenovo ThinkPad i3 with 4 GB RAM) for simple home use with the objective that we will experience the fast browsing but what we are experiencing is just opposite and that to system gets hanged many time in first month.

We tried many times to talk to its seller (TigerDirect.com) and for 20 -25 min being on the line waiting for customer care representative to respond --it kept saying " all customer care representatives are busy and serving other customers".

More over the appearance of the product delivered is different from the image it shows in the product description.

Lenovo (which acquired the IBM ThinkPad) continues to make sturdy laptops under new management. I love the sturdy keyboard. sleek design and black color. Easy to carry, fits easily in carrying case, and a no-nonsense laptop for people who actually want to do work on it. Processor works well using IBM SPSS statistical software package on it.

Samsung RC512-W02US 15.6" HD LED Notebook (Intel Core i5-2410M, 4GB DDR 3, 500GB HD, Genuine Window

Samsung RC512-W02US 15.6' HD LED Notebook, Webcam, HDMI)I am very impressed with this laptop. For being a 15" I was worried it might be a little too heavy, but the the construction of the laptop is solid and yet it is fairly light. The i5 processor is fast and 4GB RAM is enough for me to zip around the web, do some gaming, photo editing and sharing. I have the Microsoft Signature edition so there is no crapware which makes this machine even faster. I don't know what this means but there is an option for enabling and disabling WiMax I will have to do some more research and figure out if I can get WiMax service on this machine. Oh, and the trackpad supports two finger scrolling a must for any modern laptop.

[12/5/2011] The WiMax mentioned in my review is actually WiDi which is used for wireless connection to the TV. Get this -you can wireless stream video to the TV, granted the TV has the capability to receive the signal. This is awesome. My next TV will have to be a Samsung with this functionality.

The screen is so much brighter and the colors so much better than my old laptop, which this will replace. The only thing hard for me to get used to is the keyboard layout. I wish there was more space between the keyboard and the numeric keypad. I keep hitting the "num lock" along with the "backspace" key. Other than that, I love it.

The specs on this laptop is pretty decent. I purchased it however for telecommuting purposes. Since the battery only lasts about 2hrs, working from wherever, whenever is severely compromised. It is better to search for a laptop with at least a 6hr battery life.

Thinkpad X100e 11.6" AMD Athlon Neo X2 L335 (1.60GHz) 160GB

Thinkpad X100e 11.6' AMD Athlon Neo X2 L335 160GBI have just received my awesome Lenovo Thinkpad x100e and I've only had it an hour and this is performing beautifully. Now I know that Lenovo doesn't really consider this particular model a netbook but if you are looking for something near netbook size and portability but the performance of a decent laptop this is the one for you.

I own quite a few computers and I'm what you can consider a technoJunkie. I have a 13 inch Macbook Pro (love Apple), Acer amd phenom II Quad core desktop, the Ipad, a dell inspirion mini, etc. The Macbook serves as my more powerful laptop when I need to do my more data intensive work or require more raw power. This little Thinkpad tho is great for everything else. Streaming video is far more superior then any netbook that I have seen. I know that the x100e has a few different models out there but if you are gonna get any model get the faster cpu. The amd athlon neo x2 processor really does make all the difference. Great keyboard as well.

This is a great little laptop and as a fan of thinkpads this is a beauty.

Sidenote: I know in the title it says 160 gb hdd but I took the gamble and I did receive a 250 gb hdd.

This review was written using my new Thinkpad x100e!

At only 3.3 lbs this notebook is very light. It was also inexpensive. But the dual core performance is outstanding. Windows 7 Pro is icing on the cake. This was purchased to replace a net book used while traveling but I've ended up using it almost as much as my larger 15" notebook.

Buy Thinkpad X100e 11.6" AMD Athlon Neo X2 L335 (1.60GHz) 160GB Now

I like the Thinkpad X100e laptop. It has good performance, small form factor, light weight, good keyboard and good price. The reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because its battery lifetime is not as great. You can use 2 to 3 hours depending on load, which is not as great as Intel's high-end ultra mobile processors or Intel's Atom. However, 2 hours is not that bad. Other than that, I am very pleased with this laptop. One thing you need to be careful with is that you should get a Dual-core version (AMD Neo X2). Lenovo sells both dual-core and single-core versions of Thinkpad X100e. The performance of the single-core version is not as great even though power consumption is at about the same level. A single-core version is recommended only when its price is very good.

Right now Lenovo just launch the x120e, that solves all the performance issues that this model has. Please don't buy it...I just did and now I need to work with no more than 2 applications opened (Outlook 2010 and IE with 2 tabs open) to avoid freezing. It just doesn't worth it.

Weight & size are great, but without performance is useless...I just prefer a netbook for less money. Since I'm a thinkpad fan, I have many expectations with the x120e, with a great review at engadget.

Poor Machine. I had it for less than a day brand new, ran it fora couple hours it hung, so I powered it off and that is the story of this laptop.

It would not power back on. Lenovo, Amazon, and Ant Online are reusing a return.

Sony Vaio Laptop VPCEB32FM/WI

Sony Vaio Laptop VPCEB32FM/WIActually, I rarely type reviews, but I have to do so in this case. Due to the rather few number of reviews online (and many of them negative), I just wanted to clear things up so buyers like me can decide whether or not to buy it. (I had to go through hundreds of websites before I finally decided to buy the laptop, a week ago)

BUILD QUALITY AND DESIGN: Excellent, excellent, excellent. The design is very sleek and looks fantastic I think that it is the best designed notebook with a keypad. I looked at other color choices, but the matte silver lid (which doesn't really get fingerprints) and the white interiors are really pleasing to the eye. Build quality is also excellent; the notebook feels as sturdy as a lenovo or a mac. As an owner of several brands of laptops, I can say that this is definitely one of the best built laptops.

CPU/GPU PERFORMANCE: O.K. I could have bought a core i3 laptop for the price, but I don't really care. The CPU/integrated GPU are fine for my browsing, multimedia, and office work needs. I realized that I'd rather spend a little more for overall design and build quality rather than CPU performance; you have to make your own choice depending on priorities.

BATTERY LIFE: I've read several reviews slamming the battery life. I get just over 3 hours web browsing over wifi (I don't really visit too many flash-heavy sites) and almost 4 hours with wifi off at about 40-50% brightness; it could be better, but I guess it's not bad considering the size of the laptop.

KEYBOARD AND TRACKPAD: Excellent, excellent, freakingly excellent. My previous laptop also had a chicklet keyboard, but man, this one is awesome! With a full keyboard, separate arrow keys and a numpad, I think this is the best keyboard ever for this type of form factor. You can always check out the keyboard in a store. Since you are going to spend 90% of your time on the keyboard, I think this is a top priority.

The touchpad is also quite good but doesn't support 2-finger scrolling...

DISPLAY: The display is just about average for this class of laptops. Good colors and you can watch videos up to 45 degree angles with a friend.

BLU-RAY: Awesome

SOUND: Could be better, lacks bass, but is clear.

VAIO SOFTWARE: I actually ended up liking most of the media and system software. If you don't like them, you can always uninstall/disable them to improve startup performance/speed. With 4Gb of RAM, I don't really worry though..

QUICKWEB: A dedicated button gets you online in about 20 seconds...No need to boot up windows for a quick web fix...One of the reasons I bought the laptop.

I always regretted not having bought a mac, but not anymore. Everything about this laptop rocks, and I tried and used A LOT of laptops before settling on this one. Would I buy it again? Hell, yeah!

I purchased this laptop online from Best Buy on Black Friday for $500 thinking it was a good deal. I agreed with the other reviewer that this should have been price $300-$350. The battery life only last about 3hrs or less, and the speaker volume is HORRIBLE!!! The on/off button is easily pressed and shouldn't be there. Besides that everything else is just ok.

Buy Sony Vaio Laptop VPCEB32FM/WI Now

I got this laptop last year during black Friday. I was in need of a new laptop and this just jumped out at me. I decided to take the plunge and go for the $100 extra option. It gave me one more Gigabyte of Ram(4 in total), a Blu-Ray Drive, a laptop bag, The Karate Kid (Blu-Ray), and some Anti-Virus Software (I didn't care about this since it seemed that they just got old software out of a box and gave it away and free virus protection that is better can be found online). So in total I got it for $499.

Laptop has been great for the time I have had it. Still does all that I could ever want it to do at good speed. I did configure it a bit to make it boot faster and to have little to no applications running on the back ground. For a laptop with an Intel Pentium 2Gz Dual core and a 320 GB 5400 RPM Hard Drive. My boot up is usually no more than 50 seconds.

Vaio software is really great. Gives you ease of checking for updates for computer and to do computer diagnostics. System Recovery works well with Windows 7.

Pros:

+ Great Design

+ Blu Ray Player

+ HDMI output

+ 3 usb plugs

+ VGA output

+ E-SATA conection

+ Ease of usage

+ Great keyboard

Neutral:

> Average processor

> Descent display

> Customization

> Durability (No breakdowns in 14 months)

Cons:

Poor sounding speakers

Low battery life

Not many upgrades

Conclusion

When I bought it, $500 made sense for a laptop like this. Now I would say the price tag should be around $300-$350 for a laptop with these specs. The things this laptop have going for it is the Blu Ray player and the great keyboard. So far I will keep using my laptop for school but I am looking forward to upgrading to a much more powerful desktop in the near future.

This computer is a bit on the heavy side especially when needing to carry along to study groups. All in all the computer works great for basic student needs (essays, research, excel). I use it everyday and it hasnt crashed or gave me any issues whatsoever along with webroot security essentials. Sitting in a library studying next to many mac users doesnt make me feel out of place with an equally elegant designed sony vaio either.

Fujitsu LIFEBOOK AH530 15.6" Notebook - Core i5 i5-460M 2.53 GHz

Fujitsu LIFEBOOK AH530 15.6' Notebook - Core i5 i5-460M 2.53 GHzI have had the AH530 since December 2010. Not long after I started using this laptop, I began experiencing problem with the laptop shutting down by itself for no apparent reason. I then took note on what happened just before shutting down. I downloaded and ran "Speedfan", and found out that the CPU was getting quite hot (>90C) but the cooling fan was pushing very little cool air out the left side of the laptop. I contacted Fujitsu tech support on-line. I have give credit to tech support which was always available 24/7. It was decided that the laptop needed to go back to Fujitsu for repair and they even sent me a pre-paid Fedex shipping label. Got the laptop back in 10 days but the problem still persisted. So a second call to the always available on-line tech support generated a second RMA for repair. This time the turn around was 7 days including shipping time both ways (Yay!). I checked the laptop again and found the exact problem was still there: it would overheat and shut down in under 20 minutes of idle time. Called tech support again and had to escalate the situation. I was informed Fujitsu did replace the motherboard AND CPU both times. It didn't take long for me and the tech support escalate agent to both realize the problem may be associated with the cooling fan/heat sink. So I have to send the laptop back a third time for repair. It has been 6 days now since I shipped it back and I am waiting for Fujitsu to tell me if they really fix my laptop. Since this is now November 2011, I sure hope the problem gets taken care of before my warranty runs out. BTW, I placed comments on Fujitsu website about their Lifebook AH531 which is similar to my AH530 but Fujitsu would not publish it. Previous Fujitsu laptops that were built in Japan were much more reliable than the current laptops which are made in China.

11/30/2011

Additional comment: Well, I got my laptop back from Fujitsu after about 10 days. They replaced the MB & CPU (again), and the heatsink/cooling fan. This time the laptop works very well, no more overheating, no more shutting down. I finally can use the computer like I wanted to. The i5 processor is quite fast and the display is very sharp with very good contrast. The CPU is running very cool at 39-51C. battery life is very good (almost 4 hours). The only thing bad: the tiny, tinny speakers have very low volume depite being turned-up at max. My work-around is to use external speakers or headphones. Fujitsu always has very responsive tech support online which makes up for the short-coming of their product. I can now recommend buying Fujitsu. BTW, I changed the rating from a 3-star to a 4-star.

I am a college student and have been using this laptop for the last 7 months. The specifications are good and you can definitely run many games and programs on it.

But aside from that there are many technical problems I noticed with this laptop.

The one I've been using is actually the 2nd time I've gotten this laptop. The first, I've returned after 3 days because it would often freeze up to the point of no return (can't even ctrl + alt + del). The second one I got had the same problems, but I decided to keep it. After about a couple months the freezing stop, I'm not sure why. But after one problem dies down, comes another. At around the 5 month -7 month (and counting) mark, it starts to overheat a lot and shuts down your computer. After 1 hour of usage my computer would shut down with no warning at all. It can get annoying if you are working on something that you had not saved. If you use Microsoft word, then you're in luck. But if you're working on other programs then it will not save and you've lost your work.

I would definitely not buy this laptop again, and would take the risk with another one.

Bought this as a secondary laptop and with very light usage (4-5 hours per week) I ran into problems. The mouse click button broke after about 5 months then the hard disk crashed a few months later. This is ridiculous given the time I actually used it.

Want Fujitsu LIFEBOOK AH530 15.6" Notebook - Core i5 i5-460M 2.53 GHz Discount?

I purchased the Fujitsu AH530 Notebook in November 2011. The one I purchased has the Intel I5 processor. For the first 8 or 9 months every thing was working like a charm. Occasionally, the screen would freeze up but after 5 or 10 seconds it would unfreeze and all would be well. About a year ago, I the notebook would start unexpectedly shutting off right in the middle of me doing work. Usually, if I had a lot of programs opened or was working with heavy graphics or video it would overheat then shut down. This was pretty frustrating as if I didn't frequently backup my work, would lose whatever I was working on. Last October, I purchased a pretty cheap Belkin laptop chill pad. That did the trick for about 4 or 5 months, then the problem started again. The chill pad/fan stopped rotating as fast as it did when I purchased it so I have to get a new one (this time, one with a little more gusto and not a Belkin).

I have an extended warranty from the place I purchased the notebook so within the next month or so, I'll probably take it in and have them replace the fan in the notebook. At the end of the day, I think Fujitsu just put in a crappy fan in the notebook. Otherwise, the notebook is fine.

Toshiba Satellite 14" P845T-S4305 3rd Generation i3-3217U Touch-Screen Laptop, 4GB Memory - 500GB H

Toshiba Satellite 14' P845T-S4305 3rd Generation i3-3217U Touch-Screen Laptop, 4GB Memory - 500GB Hard Drive - Prestige SilverI'm pretty happy with this for what it is. I wanted something lighter but at 4.3 pounds it competes with some ultra books and has a cd drive. The keyboard is very comfortable and the touch pad behaves the way you want it to -neither sticky nor hyper-responsive. Both these features are critical for me for ergonomic reasons. One important thing -Windows 8 takes up so much space with all the garbage they load you up with, some of which you may actually want to keep, it does help to have ample hard disk space.

The touchscreen feature is perfectly adequate. Not sure I'll use it much.

Startup/reboot is SLOOOWWWW. Once I've been using it long enough to accumulate tempfiles that'll probably get worse. In other ways it can be a bit sluggish but, again, for the money can't complain.

Nice laptop. Much better value compared to the Samsung for $200++ more expensive.

And compared my sister's Toshiba 14" touch i5, this laptop serve me almost the same speed...

I'm glad I save my $100 for other accessories.

I like this laptop. It comes with DVD and touch screen. It is a bit slow and I'm not sure if it accept 3d dads or not . I like it very much and it works for me. I had to start all over again with the window 8 and frankly I don't like some of its apps like Netflex. so I uninstalled the app and just use a short cut of it. If I had to decide to buy it again I would have bought this item again. Since I use it mostely for the media, I'm not that much concern about the slowness of it. The memory is adequate however if I knew how I would have increased it to the max. I have not yet figured out how t0 Video /call with it but I'll try to learn. BUT you need to know that it is not Google friendly and I have not been able to link my apps from Google to this laptop.

ASUS K61IC-A1 16-Inch Black Versatile Entertainment Laptop (Windows 7 Home Premium)

ASUS K61IC-A1 16-Inch Black Versatile Entertainment LaptopThe first laptop had dark spots in the corner of the display. Amazon next day shipped the replacement. Excellent customer support. This laptop runs great out of the box with only a small about of junk software. Mainly ASUS applications showing you some of the cool things you can do. Windows 7 so far has impressed me but be aware you will need to do a large amount of updates. (1 gig or better) The HDMI interface works great for connecting your HDTV to play dvd media and web content. Laptop runs cooler than expected but I still would recommend a good power cooler pad.

This model does not have a blu-ray rom, only the K61IC-X1 does.

This model you get a faster processor but no blu-ray.

Thank you for the person that corrected me on this fact.

I picked this out for our son who wanted something for gaming, with a larger screen than my wife's 15" work laptop but not as bulky as our family 17". He would have preferred a >$2000 gaming rig but given he's in the military, I didn't want to give anyone else itchy fingers, not to mention being in less than optimal conditions. He was doubtful when he received it but came around quickly once he found that it handled WoW easily. In fact, a friend "triple boxed" Wow (running three game concurrently) without any trouble! The keypad layout is much better than the configuration of our 17" and the boot-up time is short and sweet thanks to ASUS for keeping it clean and virtually free of bloatware (yes, I'm looking at you, HP!) All in all, we're very happy with the capabilities and price of this laptop and will be looking to ASUS for our future needs.

I bought a Dell XPS M1530 November 2008 and it was subsequently stolen November of 2009. In my quest to replace my laptop I was stubborn & hesitant at first to stray from Dell having owned 3 laptops previously from them with no issues and nothing but excellent experience. I went shopping at a local Electronics retailer and stumbled upon this machine which is lesser known in the Southern US, however I have now learned they are the 3rd largest seller of laptop computers in the world and have won numerous awards. This machine is FAST it boots up to start menu in a mere 8 seconds flat which is impressive. Although there are faster machines out there, for the price of this one it is well worth it for under $1000. The screen picture is crisp as no other and is LED HD and has one of the best resolutions out there, great for movies and other video media. The internal sound card combined with alltec lansing speakers provide for an excellent sound also for music, etc. ALthough not as fancy to the eye or as gimicky as a Dell XPS this is as compatible as it gets and at a better price. also interesting is the 1yr warranty that protects you even from accidental dropping of the machine. 2 thumbs up, 5 stars, etc.

I bought a notebook from ASUS. The ASUS webpage describes the notebook as having a 2-year parts and labor warranty. The web page of the retailer from whom I bought the notebook describes it as having a 2-year parts and labor warranty. I called the retailer's customer support, and they told me it has a 2-year warranty.

I call ASUS for warranty service and they tell me the laptop has a 1-year warranty. A dozen phone calls over 6 weeks plus two escalations and they still refuse to honor their 2-year warranty, in spite of the proof I have given them.

Do not buy from ASUS, they don't honor their warranty.

It started out as a great laptop. After few months, I started to notice the screen behaving weird. It will flicker randomly when I resume it from sleep. Then I sent it for fixing to Asus service center. They sent it back without fixing anything saying they cant reproduce the problem without even contacting me. Now I have to figure out a way how to reproduce it for them to fix, which is very hard as the screen flicker on randomly. I did lot of research online too about the problem. Just google 'asus k61ic' and google will pop up with 'asus k61ic screen flickering' as one of the most searched terms. So I guess many people are having problem with this laptop model. I had high hopes on Asus service and expected Asus to know by now about this problem and also have a permanent fix for it. I have RMA'd my laptop 2nd time and sent it. I am waiting to see if they can fix it or not.

Lesson Learned: No matter which brand you buy, reliability can vary widely depending on the model of the laptop now i think, buying good car is lot easier than buying a good laptop.

EDIT: ASUS was able to fix the problem and it is working fine after that. I think they replaced my LCD panel. I agree with the other comment the dvd drive is finicky and springs out at unexpected moments funny it doesnt get closed so easily too sometimes its weird.. anyways, apart from that, the splendid utility wont work right, if you login as standard user it needs administrative rights another weird thing. Apart from those few annoyances, if you are persistent with ASUS, I guess they will fix your hardware problems. But its not fun to go thru the ordeal.

Lenovo G580 15.6-Inch Laptop

Lenovo G580 15.6-Inch LaptopThis is the third sub-$400 Lenovo laptop I've owned in the past 3 years (since 2009). I've purchased and resold one annually. The first was a 15-inch model (forgot which one exactly) with no number keypad and the second was a G560.

All three had Core2Duo's running under the hood, 4 gigabytes of RAM, and 320Gb hard drives. All were made entirely of plastic and came in essentially the same simple packaging.

In terms of build, I am under the impression that all Lenovos are very solidly built and the plastic feels adequate.

The sub-$400, and now sub-$300, Lenovo laptop product line has progressively become lighter, quieter, and cooler.

I think about my first Lenovo (the one that I can't remember the model number for); it was not terribly light, the fan was loud enough that it was audible from several feet away, and after 45 minutes to an hour, was hot enough to cause discomfort in certain parts underneath.

The Lenovo G560, although a definite improvement in terms of weight and fan noise, still ran hot.

This new Lenovo G580 is not only the lightest Lenovo I've owned thus far, it's also completely silent. After using it for several hours, the fan runs completely silently. Perhaps the biggest improvement in the 580 is the absolute lack of heat! This puppy runs completely cool, even after several hours of continuous use!!

I purchased mine from Fry's on Nov. 7th for $288 ($328 with tax) and I couldn't be happier.

Any potential buyers should note that this model's Core2Duo processor is more than sufficient for web browsing, Word and Excel processing, and even playing high-quality Blu-Ray discs!

I mostly use this laptop for CAD drawing (I produce architectural blueprints using AutoCAD 2007). I've even install the Adobe Master Suite CS6 and although it's nothing like my desktop Core i7 (2600K), this laptop surpassed all my performance expectations.

I was looking for a value laptop but not a cheapo laptop that would struggle to run things like HD YouTube. I settled on the G580 and so far it's met my expectations. I am not going to review Windows 8 (I happen to like it), this is a hardware review only.

Pros:

Nice bright colorful screen

Quality build, feels sturdy, not cheap even though its a value laptop

Runs very quiet and cool

Not Ultrabook thin but its pretty light and thin enough for a casual user

Good keyboard, works well and easy to type on. Like having 10 digit keypad

Touch pad works fine, messed with a little. Still prefer usb mouse but it works fine

Most needed ports-hdmi, sd card, usb 3.0

Color is nice (but see cons)

Speakers sound pretty full (but see cons)

Not the top of the line processor but it's zippy for casual use (Office, Internet, Flash games, etc.)

Plays 1080P HD and Flash content easily

Battery life is pretty good, it probably goes 3.5 hours with light moderate use and decent settings

Webcam works fine, quality seems good

Cons:

Color and design is nice but it's a fingerprint magnet, don't even bother trying to wipe it clean daily (or every 5 minutes it seems)

Speakers sound pretty decent and full for a laptop, but I am not a big fan of speakers placed in the front underneath. Prefer them up top near the screen. Sounds more natural to me, this is only minor and a personal preference of mine they still sound pretty good for laptop speakers.

Placement of usb 2.0 port, too close to power plug, again, minor annoyance. Use that port for something like your nano usb mouse.

It's nice that Lenovo makes it easy to setup for recovery but I would still prefer having physical media of some kind. But better embrace it as that's the way the worlds moving. There are no Windows discs or any discs for that matter included.

A lot of bloatware, but what PC brand doesn't come loaded with tons of unnecessary crap? Again minor, just go on your uninstall rage fest.

I'm very happy with my purchase and recommend this laptop if you are like me and need a good value laptop without having to compromise too much performance. Cons are mostly minor (except for fingerprints, it annoys me) but overall I think you will be very happy with the quality of Lenovo and the value performance you get with this G580.

I'm on my new Lenovo right now as I type this. It's a great laptop and has a ton of value for what you pay. The only thing I had a hard time getting used to was the keyboard. I've never had a laptop with a numerical pad on the right, so I've had to learn to shift everything to the left when typing. No biggie though, after a few days of typing it wasn't an issue. I'm so glad I took a chance on this laptop!

Laptop was nicely priced. It does everything I want it to, but HDMI port stopped working after a few weeks of use. May return it, or pay to have it repaired, as everything else is exactly what I want.

Sony VAIO VPC-EB3AFM/WI 15.5" Notebook (2.0GHz Intel Pentium Dual-C P6100 3GB RAM 320GB HDD DL DVD-

Sony VAIO VPC-EB3AFM/WI 15.5' NotebookI got this laptop for college, and it runs GREAT!! I usually have to do A LOT of research and write tons of papers, so I use the web all the time and have to use a ton of different programs. It updates itself when it needs to, and I LOOVE the keyboard (with the numbers on the side). It is big enough for school, but fits perfectly in my backpack. I ride my bike everywhere, and it isn't heavy. Also, I skyped often, and the image and sound was great.

The volume doesn't go too high, but I wear headphones all the time (and is loud enough like that).

I bought this for my uncle, and the computer works very well with great appearance. The price has been raised, it was cheaper when I bought it. I don't think it worth the current price.

Lenovo IdeaPad Z560 (0914-42U) Notebook, Intel Core i3 380M(2.53GHz), 15.6" Wide XGA, 4GB Memory DD

Lenovo IdeaPad Z560 Notebook, Intel Core i3 380M(2.53GHz), 15.6' Wide XGA, 4GB Memory DDR3 1066, 320GB HDD 5400rpm, DVD±R/RW Intel HD GraphicsI love this laptop. I can't say enough good things about it. It's sleek, light, fast, with enough RAM to get the job done and I have always preferred an Intel processor to an AMD. The keyboard is a traditional keyboard with a number pad on the right. It comes with really cool face recognition software for logging in. It also comes with Microsoft Office Starter 2010 which is really great. It's not a trial program either. Except that it's missing the ability to track changes, etc. most of the common Word features are there. There was some bloatware but nothing you can't get rid of in fairly short order. I couldn't be happier and this was a good price! I got it cheaper at Lenovo Outlet than what they have here on Amazon and the Outlet comes with a 1 year depot warranty.

I got this for college and love it! It runs almost silently and doesn't get overheated even with multiple programs/windows open (I may get a cooling thing if I decide to get more intensive games but barring that it does just fine by itself). For this price, probably one of the best deals you're gonna find. I spent months looking at different laptops and was pointed to Lenovo by a friend. I'm very glad that I listened to him.

Sleek, impressive speakers, crisp images, quick, multi-tasks really well, and the keyboard is very comfortable (which is always something I worry about for some reason). Battery hasn't been a problem, but I have the cords in my backback with me just in case, mostly for when I have rehearsals without clear time requirements.

Not the most comprehensive review anyone will have ever read but if nothing else, I would highly recommend this computer to anyone.

Also, it isn't that big a deal but facial recognition log-in via the camera makes me feel like a secret agent. Huge plus for that one Lenovo!

I've had this laptop for over 2 years and now that I've ordered a desktop, I figured now is the perfect time to review it. 2 years ago, this laptop would have had great reviews from me; it was fast, sleek, and top of the line. But now that I've had it for such a long time, I've become pretty dissatisfied for what it had become. The laptop came with a bunch of useless programs that most people will never use and only takes up time and memory. The integrated graphics card makes it impossible for higher level rendering or gaming. The internet reception is verrrry poor if you're using wifi. The laptop overheats like a dog in the summertime even without any dust in the system. The keyboard is great, but one of the keys came loose a few months after buying it. The quality is poor as well. One of my friends accidentally dropped my bag with this laptop in it from about three feet and the disk reader slot came apart. Soon after, the power plug part broke off and made it very difficult for the laptop to charge. The USB ports became loose in a short amount of time and the left hinge of the screen came apart for no apparent reason a few months later. It has served me well over the past few years but please do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere.

We have had this for about 2 months. It has performed well with reasonable speed and connects to the wireless with no issues. I was looking for a low cost solution for my wife and 2 kids to use. Amazing to think that it is a requirement for 3rd grade to have a flash drive .... I do not like to wait for machines to work and I wanted something with some speed that would not have to be replaced next year. This looks like it will do the job.
