ASUS X55C-DS31 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black)

This is a great laptop! the tech specs are really good, it's fast and the design it's pretty neat and the keyboard is made of a good materials. the touch pad though... it could be better.

And Win 8 sucks sooooo much... 20 minutes after playing with win 8 I end up formatting the hard drive and installing an old copy of windows 7.

The right click button on the touchpad is a little messed up. It only sometimes works and it sticks a little. The rest of the time it just left clicks.

Furthermore it has the speakers on the bottom of the laptop. (A very poor choice of location in my opinion.) However, sound quality is still good.

Besides those things, it's a good solid laptop.

If you use an external mouse, you'll be fine.

The laptop is good enough for that price, but there are certain things about it that are unacceptable even then:

1) The body is mostly plastic, and doesnt have a very crisp finish. The edges are wavy (a little), and the build feels weak

2) The hinges had glue on it, similar to the residue left behind by a duct-tape. It's difficult to remove that by scraping, so it's best to just let it be there

3) The battery doesnt fit tightly on the laptop. After it locks in, you can still feel about 0.5 mm of play, which causes noises when you put the laptop on a hard surface, or lift it up. One can tell there is something wrong in the way the battery is fitted.

The laptop is decent if you have a low budget, but be aware of the flaws. Maybe it's the one I got?!

Good product!

However, I had to get rid of Windows 8 and install Windows 7. If you don't know how to do this then get a laptop with W 7 installed.
