Toshiba 17.3" Satellite P775-S7320 Laptop - Intel® CoreTM i7 Processor / 6GB DDR3 / 750GB HDD / Bl

Toshiba 17.3' Satellite P775-S7320 Laptop - Intel® CoreTM i7 Processor / 6GB DDR3 / 750GB HDD / Blu-ray / Fusion X2 Finish in PlatinumI read Amazon reviews all the time, but have never written one until now. I have to say that I am so doggone happy with my computer. Even though I've only had it for 24 hours, I'm very familiar with it because my daughter bought one over a month ago. In fact, we both bought a laptop over a month ago. Hers was this Toshiba and mine was a Sony Vaio (F Series) with 750GB, 8GB Ram, and higher features than the Toshiba. I bought it at the high recommendation of a technology-geek. He said it was comparable to a Mac. The screen was remarkable in clarity. I tried to love everything about that Sony; but the more I would witness the smooth operation of my daughter's Toshiba, the more I knew that I couldn't live with the many quirks about the Sony.

Where do I even start? The Toshiba's keyboard is the best I've ever experienced. The screen is crystal clear, the speakers are far beyond what I would expect from a laptop; and even though it's a 17.3" screen, it is incredibly lightweight. That was a huge factor in replacing my Sony w/the Toshiba. The Sony was HEAVY, and the Toshiba is portable enough for anyone. The touch pad is quite smooth, but not overly sensitive. My Sony was 8GB RAM, but it wasn't any faster than the Toshiba. In fact, the Toshiba seems to be faster w/6GB. Pages load up quickly. Many Internet tabs can be opened simultaneously and the computer doesn't freeze, nor is the speed affected. I just can't say enough good things about this Toshiba. However; because I want to be as honest as possible in my review, if anything changes down the road, I will come back with another review. Meanwhile, I'll say that when compared to my past laptops (Dell, Gateway & Sony), the Toshiba wins out hands down. I recommend this to anyone looking for a high-quality, reasonably-priced laptop.

I absolutely love this computer. The keyboard is a lot sturdier then most laptops I've seen. The screen is crisp and clear with great sound out of the speakers. I have played sims and lego harry potter among other similar games on this computer with no problem. The blue ray player is nice also. The only real downside I can think of is that the hard drive makes this weird shifting noise when it locks in place. Idk why the computer does this, I assume that its to keep from the hard drive being messed up. All in all this is my favorite laptop I have owned.

Complaints: 1) No system recovery discs in the box. I called Bestbuy and I was told they are not included now. The world is going to the ditch! Six years ago I bought my first Toshiba with the discs in. Nine years ago I bought a Sony VAIO (Stay away from it) with the discs in the box too.

So the first thing you have to do is burn your system recovery in a DVD disc, and a system back up in an external hard drive, I had to buy a 1 TB Toshiba with USB 3.0, dedicated only to this.

2)The light coming from the Satellite logo (At the front left) and from the touch pad long bar LED are really annoying, along with the system indicator lights at the front right. I tried to watch a Bluray movie and they were absolutely blinding. May be I'm getting old, but I've always been annoyed by excessive light, like in my car mirrors, there's always an idiot with the high beams behind me!

3) The touch pad (mouse) is far too much to the left. Any reason for this? It's not comfortable at all.

Well, there's another complaint: There's no way to install a second internal SATA hard drive, the bay is there, it's empty, but there's no connector. Preposterous! I hope Toshiba designers read this review. Let me know guys.

Pros: I like the screen, the speakers, the keyboard, and the laptop as a whole.

Cons: All connectors (Power, USB, etc.) located at both sides of the laptop. Shouldn't the power and some USB connectors be located at the back? And the headphones and mic ones at the front? How difficult is this to do?

Buy it, if you can live with all this.
