Buy Dell Latitude D620 Notebook Computer Duo Core 1.66GHz 1GB 40GB CDRW/DVD WiFi Now
I bought two of these one for my daughter and one for myself, they both work great and were in great condition , look forward to purchasing from this co again. Good Customer service, product arrived quickly and was what was advertised. It must have been dropped because a peice of the outer casing is broken off on the corner. The DVD drive does not play DVD's, only CD's, but this may have something to do with the original video card that can't be updated. Taking it in to have it upgraded would probably cost as much as I paid for this. Have to touch the mouse pad with a delicate touch or the cursor barely moves. I bought this for my daughter because it has the software used by her school which benefits her to get homework and online assignments done. The graphics is the only dissapointment because she has to use my pc to get somethings done.Want Dell Latitude D620 Notebook Computer Duo Core 1.66GHz 1GB 40GB CDRW/DVD WiFi Discount?

Here is my tirade. From my amazon purchase. As a small business we just don't do business like you guys Lenovo. We would be done. Out of business.
From my Amazon review:

1.0 out of 5 stars Great computer, maybe hardware issue oops... Not a fan of Lenovo any more!, December 10, 2012

This review is from: Lenovo G580 15.6-Inch Laptop (Glossy Brown IMR) (Personal Computers)
Got the computer in a timely mannor, thanks Amazon. Got it up and running, I was excited to try Windows 8. I was taking the leap. I like Windows 8 and after 5 minutes of getting used to the new interface it was working fine for me. We did buy this computer for our 14yr son and so it was his turn to have some fun. It worked well, very fast. Then day 2. He was playing his favorite game, and called me over because the computer was frozen. Could not do anything with it. Hard boot. No good. Used the "one key recovery" feature, to roll back to original settings. Came back up for a bit then, would not load Windows any more at all. Talked to the nice lady at Lenovo and she offered to send factory recovery disks at no charge. I will update this when we try to recover. Great computer, no so sure about the software, may need a few updates before Win 8 is perfect.
Update Dec 20th : Lenovo sent recovery disks. Attempted recovery with Lenovo on the phone to guide me. Did not work, the computer is going back to be repaired. Not too happy now, but cannot complain about the service, it was fine. I hope the machine works properly when it gets back, will update.
Update Jan 17th : Still waiting. They are replaceing the motherboard and do not have the correct one in stock at the repair center it is at, so they say, must come from China or something, not a very happy customer at this point.
Update Jan 29th : Lenovo is now not the company I would recomend
Update Feb 16th : Finally have the computer back. It is running well. Lennovo support was terrible giving mis-information and outright lies were told to us. According to the "Lenovo Depot Repair Center Repair Action Report" that came back with the machine, the repair was replace hard drive. The telephone support told us that the motherboard needed to be replaced and it was not available and that is why the repair was taking over 5 weeks. If it was jus t a HDD replacement it should have taken no time at all. There is no problem finding a HDD at a repair depot I would hope. I am a very unhappy customer Lenovo. I hope that some people will think twice about buying any product from you. As a small business owner, if something this bad happened, I would bend over backward to make sure my customer was happy in the end. No such thing with Lenovo. I asked maybe if they could put in an extra 4GB of ram to help make up for my inconvience, no reply. The only thing that really surprised me was that we actually got our computer back. Lenovo you need to seriously look at how you treat your customers.
Really, how could you let this type of thing happen? I'm pretty sure out of the "12 people found this helpful" you probably lost a sale, maybe more than one. Bad business Lenovo.I am very happy with my purchase, the laptop works great, loads fast, is functional for my requirements (administrative software management, accounting). I found it a little uncomfortable with the mouse because when writing sometimes place the cursor changes when you rub your hand over the surface, you could adjust the sensitivity and improve this point, browse the internet fine, operation is quiet and does not heat too much like other laptops, have available 2 USB 3.0 ports that have no taste because i dont haver such devices. I'm using Windows 8 for the first time and I have difficulties handling, but I understand that I will know as has happened with previous versions (although so far I like it :)) definitely would recommend this purchase

My daughter absolutely LOVES this laptop. Very good quality and a very good brand. Lenovo used to be called IBM and is a fantastic choice for any computer need. This laptop is fast and has plenty of memory and processing speed to keep the average PC user very happy. If you want a computer for gaming, I would suggest a different model that has a little more power but I would still go with a Lenovo brand. Much cheaper than Alienware. The same laptop on another site was about $80 more because of the shipping and tax which Amazon did not charge! Saved me a lot of money and made my daughter and me VERY happy.Read Best Reviews of Lenovo G580 15.6-Inch Laptop (Matte Black) Here
super fast and the screen is excelent for hi def videos. sound quality of the speakers is excellent as well. however, mine had some issues with a faulty driver when I got it so I did have to reinstall windows 8 which was the cause of much dismay at the time, but the computer works excellently now!Want Lenovo G580 15.6-Inch Laptop (Matte Black) Discount?
Just wanted another cheap laptop to replace the Toshiba satellite that I have, which has been a good laptop overall but with age now is falling apart and has had battery/charging issues for the last year or so.Now the Lenovo at $350 after taxes and shipping seemed like a good choice given the features it contains.
Pros: bright crisp screen
features (500gb hdd, hdmi, two 3.0 usb ports)
Cons: The keyboard keys are clacky, and not smooth -the Toshiba had MUCH better keyboard feel. This is really the largest issue for me, as I can resolve any software related issues.
EFI boot: This is my first pc with UEFI boot control. I can say I'm not a fan, but I was able to figure out how to get Linux installed and bootable alongside the delivered Windows 8 OS. So far I've not been able to get Linux to boot from the EFI/Windows boot menu, but need to use F12 to catch the BIOS at start up and switch to the HDD as the boot source (after having enabled 'legacy' boot support from the BIOS menu).
Windows 8: I was really looking forward to using this, and had been dismissing the public reviews. Metro is OK, but really seems to only make sense on a tablet. On a desktop/laptop w/out a touchscreen, Metro is just plain idiotic. It feels very much half-baked, especially since 'real' applications still run on a 'desktop' screen that looks like every windows desktop since W95, only without a start button. Glad to hear MS is caving and rolling in some customer demanded revisions.
The touchpad freezes up often -which may be more related to something with Windows 8 -I don't see this problem when running Linux on it.

As a previous reviewer said, speakers are OK for this kind of computer. Don't expect hugh quality audio! but I guess it's something common in almost all laptops.
USB 3.0 it's a plus, along with an HDMI port.
double check the price though, amazon has this unit a bit overpriced. You've read the specs so you know what's in the machine and it's got a lot to offer. For me the outstanding feature is the long battery life. I needed a decent machine with a long life and this one has it. I would give it a better rating except for the speakers. They are merely okay, nothing spectacular, just okay. It would have been nice to have a backlit keyboard too, but that would shorten the battery life. The graphics, intel 3000, are built into the cpu and does what I want but, it isn't a heavy gaming gpu. I've had mine for about a month now and I would certainly buy it again; sorry I didn't get it here as I found it cheaper elsewhere. So, if you need a longer battery life, mine gets around 8 hours of actual use, definitely take a serious look at the Asus U series.
P.S. I've read where some people are having trouble with the trac pad. I haven't had that problem, but it is something to look into before you buy. Knowing what I know I would still buy this one again.I purchased this laptop at BestBuy about 4 months ago. I was replacing a 5 year old Sony Vaio that had it's wireless switch crap out. I still use the Vaio in a docking station hard wired to the network and it works great. The ASUS was $599.00 so it was cheaper than Amazon has it but I would have paid higher for it. The battery life alone sets it apart from any laptop I have ever owned. I get 8 hours plus when unplugged and that is running videos, surfing, picture uploading and wireless on. It took me awhile to get used to the keyboard set up, the keys actually pop up individually from the laptop but since I have been using it, it is actually really easy to use. Huge HD and it came with 6 GIGs of Ram, I was thinking of taking it to 8 GIGs to max it out but I really don't think it needs the extra two. Screen is very clear and it all works great. I would recommend this laptop to anyone who was looking. The price point and quality are both excellent.
Update: 2/1/2013 Just sent this laptop off to Asus to have it repaired. I believe that the hard drive failed, it would not let me restore or factory reset. Went into a death loop spiral with chkdsk in DOS mode. So frustrating considering it never left my ottoman, ever. 8 months, not a good sign...
Update: 3/4/2013 Received the laptop back about 2 weeks ago. Mother board was bad and HD had a bad section, or so they said. Laptop has been running fine since I got it back, except that I have experienced the very long black screen start a couple times again. This was the reason I was trying to restore it before when it finally died on me. I am just backing everything up daily and hopefully it will last. I really like the computer and it does everything I need it to do. I will keep my fingers crossed. This computer is really fast and the keyboard feels nice. This was my first laptop so I was surprised by a few things. The speakers on this one are mousy quiet. ASUS does that on this model to save battery power. The keyboard is not backlit either for the same reason. So far that has not been a problem. I had to change the setting for TouchPad Sensativity. I set if from very slight touch to maximum touch (which I recommend) because the touchpad was clicking on links all day long without me even trying. Ahhh, just the slightest touch activated that thing which was no touch at all. So I changed that, and I love this computer.Bought a refurbished product at a real discount. The DVD drive was broken but the seller sent a replacement within a few days. The performance of the computer is excellent. The energy usage is far better than the other laptops I use. I intend to copy its settings to use in my other computers. The battery life is fantastic as well. The profile of the laptop is sleet and attractive while the battery sticks out as sort of a rest to incline the laptop for typing. I like it but it may not be for everyone. The keyboard is nice but is not backlite if that is important to you. Its nice that it has a numeric pad but they are small keys so it takes a bit of an adjustment to use effectively.
The only con I've had so far is the sound. I read that it was bad but I could not believe it is as bad as it is. The sound is far worst than any laptop I've ever had. I am not very picky about sound quality but the volume is low and very tinny sounding. You should plan on using add on computer speakers for sound.
I recommend this computer unless you can't live with the sound issues.

Besides that, this machine is very well designed. The ports are on the side, no more reaching behind to plug it in. Its got a thick layer of plastic casing, yet is just over an inch thick. The 12 inch screen is amoung the clearest I've ever seen, and is suprisingly easy to use. The speakers are just okay, but you don't buy a laptop for speakers anyway. The snow colored design is absolutly beautiful, and is a nice plus. The screen is on a solid bar, not one of those flimsy PC hinges. This is the most solidly built, yet lightest, thinnest, most compact laptops I've ever owned or used. I have had several PC laptops before this one, and this is, by far, the best machine I have ever owned.
By the way, the battery life on this machine is, to sum it up in one word, unbelievable. I can get about 4 hours of battery life while watching VIDEOS on this, surfing the web I can get upwards of four and a half or more! The low power consumption of the G3 processor makes this an ultra-portable machine.
For those who are considering switching. Don't be discouraged by the OS right away. It is something you will need to get used to, but after a few days you will never know how you ever lived without it. I now go back to my PC and just absolutly despise it every second I use it. I have now gotten used to the Mac and enjoy it more than I ever did with my PC. You know what they say, once you've gone Mac, you don't ever go back.
Well, to sum it up, this machine is perfect. I have yet to come across any sort of flaw whatsoever. Mac has thought this thing through, their attention to detail is amazing. Everything down to the little hook that comes out just as you close the lid to lock it shut has been designed perfectly. This isn't something that has just been scrapped together by Dell or something, this is a powerful piece of computing genius that has been designed for people out to make the intelligent choice for their computing needs. If you're stupid, go the ways of the PC world and conform to the ways of Bill Gates If you're smart, buy a Mac, you won't regret it. I guarantee! My girlfriend and I bought this computer for college for her and we both use it. Excellent Purchase
ProGreat battery life (we've gotten 7-8 house using wireless and www/word/email
Pretty sturdy, not as much as my clamshell ibook but better than other laptops I've seen
Great display, clear and bright
Fast ENOUGH...
ConHave had to repair it once for the display that stopped working, although the local repair center fixed it in 3 days and was covered under warranty
Would recommend that you buy applecare extended though. You won't only get what all windows based laptops have but a whole lot more of good stuff such as software and some fantastic applications that will blow your mind off. I can't live without my ibook . . . and I mean it.

pro: nice look, reasonably priced, fast startup.
con: short battery life (about 5 hours or less)
Samsung Series 5 NP530U3C-A02US 13.3-Inch Ultrabook (Light Titan Silver)I would say I am more skilled than the average user of computers. I currently use this primarily for graduate school research and assignments, but in testing its ability this computer can play intense video games for several hours at a time. I will concede to most of the other reviews by more experienced users.
USB 2.0 connectivity is very fast and re-boot time is stellar.

I bought this model after I did research to assure me I could get rid of the Windows 8 interface and put something more in line with Windows 7 Found it.
It's a nice, solid machine. Pretty quick. Not sure it's a good tradeoff for the Intel version. It still seems to want to buffer a lot of video and multimedia stuff.
All in all I think it's a great machine for the price. Fast, good display, light and the batter life is great.
There are some sort of action key settings that perplex me. Boxes pop up inwittingly and I have yet to find a way to disable them.I have owned several Probooks and they are my first choice in the PC Notebook market. I work in the IT field and purchased this notebook to more thoroughly enjoy (yes, maybe possible) and learn Windows 8. So far better then my previous experiences virtualized in Parallels on my Macbook. The HP hardware seems sturdy and solid and performs well. Only regret is I would have liked to looked closer at the display, a little too low of resolution x768 for my liking, but not enough to make me want to return the computer. I am very much able to enjoy what this PC has to offer.

On a related note, I also have a dual boot install of Ubuntu on this thing and that too freezes from overheating. I've run every Dell diagnostic, etc and everything seems to checkout. It basically just comes down to the fact that this laptop is poorly designed with cheaply made parts and should be recalled and replaced with something better. I personally will never buy another Dell for the rest of my life based solely on how bad my experience with this laptop has been. I'll stick with building my own computers from now on I think. There's nothing better than working away on the laptop to then have it randomly and blue screen on you. And from what I read, I don't get the overheating blue screens nearly as often as some people.
*UPDATE It seems that Dell pretty much stopped supporting this system right out of the gate. The last update to any of the drivers was in 2010 for the most part. Video drivers are awful and even though the hardware manufacture has released many newer version of the drivers, I cannot install them. Dell would need to tune those newer drivers to fit their hardware otherwise the installation fails. And of course, they haven't. Stay clear of anything Dell. They want a premium for their products only to stop supporting you once you've purchased in to the "dude you're gettin' a Dell". There are so many alternatives out there that there is no reason to get a Dell.

The warrenty on this is crap. Dell has no customer service and they product crashed. I will never buy Dell again. I was a Satalite fan and I thought this was a good deal and I didn't want a 10 key. Don't waste your time with this Dell Studio.I had so many problems with Dell with this Lap Top. It has been up and down over the last year with Dell with this lap top. It overheats, Touch Pad failed, Keyboard had to be replaced, fans had to be replaced, Mother board had to be replaced. It was such a big mess and I am fed up with this warrenty service and the computer with Dell. I wouldn't buy this piece of crap of a lap top for anyone. The worse lap top I ever had in my life. After all of that my computer failed!!!!This computer is fast and easy to use. It has a very big screen, which is definitely a plus. However, the manufacturing on this computer is terrible. It has many plastic pieces that repeatedly break, mostly notable the ac adapter plugin and the power button on the sides. The power button is a huge issue because the wires that control it are on the lid moving thing, so sooner or later they inevitably break and of course it is your fault.
If you intend to use this as a desktop that is fine, but if you want it as a laptop you need to care for it as you would an infant. Don't drop it, always cover it...be extremely careful when traveling with it.
