Dell Inspiron i1464-4382OBK 1464 14-Inch Laptop (Obsidian Black)

Dell Inspiron i1464-4382OBK 1464 14-Inch LaptopPros:

The laptop is considerably light for its monitor size.

It's very attractive and glossy.

The keyboard has a good tactile response.

Excellent heat dispersion (so far; it hasn't had time to build up dust or anything)

Cons:

The glossy finish makes this a fingerprint magnet. Be careful if you're anal about these things!

Intel HD graphics are adequate for productivity, but don't expect cutting-edge gaming.

Computer ships with OS on separate partition, making file management tedious unless you reinstall yourself.

Detail:

I bought this computer about a week ago as a "mobile hub" for my college career (computer science). In terms of size, this strikes a good chord between functionality and portability. It's considerably lighter than it looks in the pictures, but nothing has a cheap feel to it. The track pad has a nice grain feel to it, and the edges are tapered to give a smooth feel at the corners; it's responsiveness is a little questionable, though. Finally, the computer has a very attractive and clean layout, but its high-gloss design is a real fingerprint magnet. Watch out if you're a neat freak, as you'll be spending a lot of time wiping off smudges.

I have this laptop since yesterday. I have had no problem whatsoever with the laptop. I was initially discouraged when I heard that people were having trouble with the touch pad and the media keys, but I personally have not found any tidiousness with them.

Pros:

Sleek design

Sound is good

4 gb of ram is more than enough to run any program (Corel, Sony Vegas are no biggie)

-The Dell Dock is very productive and efficient, (same or even better than Apple's dock)

Cons:

-Obsidian Black is a finger print magnet. (you will need to clean your laptop almost twice a day)

-I do not know why but microsoft ranged my laptop a 3.2/7.1

-Battery runs out pretty fast. With Win 7 power saver and dells plan as well you could get 3 1/2 hours tops.

I would highly recommend this laptop and I have no regrets on buying it so far.

Had a latitude that died. Bought this laptop to replace it for business use. Biggest probs with it is print spooler continuously shuts off and you have to go thru 5-6 clicks to restart it several times a day. Very frustrating. Called dell support the first week. Was on hold for 45 minutes in the queue waiting for tech help. Once I got a live person (from india) he immed began a hard sell for the 270 dollar warranty package because I neede assTtce with software issues. When I called him on it and said "this is a hardware issue and dell's problem. are you refusing to even hear about the problem in an attempt to sell me something," he promptly hung up on me. I had wasted an hour. Dell support is a joke.

The other issue is the mousepad gets stuck pretty often, either blocking text when I don't intend to--forcing me to lift my hand and do a double tap or right click to turn off the blocking.

Hey Guys,

I bought this directly from Dell, The good things are:

Very light weight very easy to carry around everywhere

Very thin Unless you are comparing it to macbook air or something like that, its extremely thin.

Very Fast the I3 processor is very fast

Perfect Balance of Speed and Mobility easy to carry around everywhere(Believe me, I do carry this around everywhere. I dont use radio in my car but take this laptop to listen to audio books and podcasts.....Geek all the way...lol)

Here are the negatives:

IMPORTANT UPDATE: I just tried to get some warranty service done, and they make the follow up calls in next couple of days, but they call you around after 10:30 at night. even after i asked them to stop, they called me again at midnight!!!!absolute harassment.

First and FOREMOST the mouse pad(or finger pad, whatever you would call it) is nto very practical, if your hands have even a bit of moisture or sweat, the mousepad wont respond well. In fact it is so painful that It makes the computer very much less productive than my previous laptop.

The keyboard also seems very crammed. It doesnt respond well, even if I am typing at my normal speed and pressure, sometimes it will miss some characters. I still cant figure out why. Plus all the function keys can only be used if you use it in combination with Fn key.

Battery life: I only get about 2 hours on average. Although if you activate dell's battery saving features, it goes up about 25%.

In Conclusion: For the price, I find it to be a good value if you can tolerate the keyboard and mouse issues. I am trying to get it fixed by dell, but I dont know if they can really do anything. I personally wouldnt recommend it as keyboard and mouse are preety important. but it seems like I am the only one with these problems!

This laptop is good for word, business and any office related work. If your a movie watcher it is bad, glitches out in the middle of the movie, the mousepad glitches, the fast acess face recognition barely every works, when the computer starts up it glitches, 2nd month it was pretty bad but after that it is great, nice keyboard, one very horrible thing is battery life, as soon as you get it, make sure you charge the battery then drain it all the way and repeat for the first week or crucial for battery life. Finally pretty good lightweight and definetly smaller than it looks. Wide screen and lot of finger space when typing. Lastly only one huge problem, very bad at multi tasking.

Toshiba Satellite P505-S8980 18.4" Notebook (2.2GHz Core 2 Duo T6600 6GB RAM 500GB HDD Blu-ray Read

Toshiba Satellite P505-S8980 18.4' NotebookI wanted a large screen laptop that I could use around the house. This computer satisfied my requirement. The screen is very large and sharp. My best photos come up large and crisp. Beautiful colors. The speakers are wonderful and were an unexpected surprise. It is like wearing a good set of earphones. The computer is silent. I do not hear the fans or drive. It is very fast.

I did not like the style in the store (Best Buy) since it is shiny black and I prefer a flat finish. But once I got it home I realized it is very smart, modernistic. My wife who is picky on such matters remarked that it is beautiful. The keys are flat like minature tiles but this is ok with me and I would prefer if the function keys were set somewhat lower. It smudges but you only see this in direct light and it wipes off anyway.

I would not buy this computer for travelling due to its size. But as a home laptop it is great. I am very happy with my choice.

This PC it's powerful, beautiful, excellent quality, stunning graphics, top of the line.

I can't give 5 stars because my screen came with a "burned pixel". It's a tiny very bright red point on the monitor. If you have a black or dark background it's very evident. If you have a light background it's very hard to notice. I called Toshiba Services and I can change the monitor using the guaranty if I have 8 "burned pixels" all over it or if I have 3 or more in one sector. It is not a big issue, but I will buy the extended guaranty just in case. Despite this, I love the machine.

I purchased a Toshiba P505 laptop 2 years ago. Within months we were having problems: the computer would not start, or if it did start, it would shut down unexpectedly. Toshiba's help desk was unhelpful: they wanted it mailed in for examination (even though we had purchased an in-home service contract), but since we were using this machine for daily business, we could not give it up for the 2 months they wanted. By the time we had fussed with it enough, the warranty had run out. So we put it on the shelf and bought another laptop (HP, not Toshiba). Recently I decided to take the time to take it to a real computer repair shop. They found that it had been defective from the beginning: the motherboard could not hold on tightly to the memory cards, which would slip out at the slightest movement of the laptop. They could replace the motherboard, for roughly 1/2 the original cost of the computer, but recommended against it because the replacement motherboard would be original equipment, and the original equipment obviously had a design flaw so the problem was bound to happen again. If Toshiba is selling products with design flaws that they do not bother to correct, the lesson is obvious: don't buy Toshiba products.

This is just an absolute powerhouse, monster of a notebook which is definitely the definition of DESKTOP-replacement!! I have bought a few of these allready for both me and my relatives and everyone's been nothing but absolutely amazed at these great notebooks. I got mine for really low prices because they were refurbished. You have to make sure you get some kind of warranty Toshiba provides it on refurbished models as well (3 months or so) also make sure to check the condition of the notebook. Some people will list refurbished when its really refurbished and then used. Make sure its in "back to new" condition. Ask the seller if its not listed. That's my few cents on these.

The 2.2Ghz processor with 6GB of RAM and a half a Tera Byte (500GB) Hard Drive along with a bundled Blue-Ray????!!!! For $700 or so??? Common, it doesn't get better than that. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Cheers!

Like most reviewers the machine is impressive at first. Bright clear picture, lots of ram and functions. Then you start using them. Problems with the bluray. Had to down load (and pay for) a new program from corel. Problems with sound. Had to download (multiple times) and reload drivers. Problems with the label flash software. The list goes on and on. Then the last straw. Hard drive failure. But the thing that really has sealed this laptop's fate and added insult to injury for me has been the manufaturers response. After contacting tech support multiple times in 10 months and recieving the same level of service everytime, I'm done with Toshiba...for EVER! Rude, condescending and indifferent can describe it best. Ever wonder why there are so many "refurbished" units of this model available on line? That should speak volumes to you...just listen! Save yourself a ton of aggrevation!!!

Acer 15.6" Intel Pentium Dual-Core T4500 2.3Ghz 250GB Laptop | AS5734z-4836

Acer 15.6' Intel Pentium Dual-Core T4500 2.3Ghz 250GB Laptop | AS5734z-4836I bought one of this at our local Walmart Store for $355.00(tax included). I was so impressed with the features that came with it. All I needed are included in this one magnificent light unit plus Windows 7 is the best OS so far. You don't have to spend that much for a good laptop try this and you will never regret it... you'll even have extra cash for a wireless all-in-one printer.

I bought this laptop for my wife 3 weeks ago. In that time we have had a chance to try it out. I agree with most of the other reviews as far as most of the features of this unit. The only problem we have is in the speaker. It comes with only one speaker which you cannot hear. I called Acer service and was told by someone in India, that there is no cure for the problem. He said because there is only one speaker, there is low volume. It is a shame because the rest of the unit works so well. If you use headphones the sound is excellent, but if you use the external speaker be prepared to put your ear next to it to hear.

I would recommend this to anyone-again top of the line for the money.

I would recommend this computer for anyone who wishes to own a computer with a number pad, low cost, and fairly good insides. The down side is the lack of a battery life. This is over come by the prepossessing power, and number pad in my opinion. I have no major issues to report, and I enjoy the computer very much, especially for the price.

MSI Computer Corp. MSI GT70 2OC-059US;9S7-176312-059 17.3-Inch Laptop

MSI Computer Corp. MSI GT70 2OC-059US;9S7-176312-059 17.3-Inch LaptopThis laptop is everything you'd expect from a high-end gaming laptop. From inside to outside, all features and components have been designed for top notch gaming performance.

This particular model utilizes Intel's latest CPUthe 4th generation i7 8 Core processor which packs more processing potential than most users will ever need.

This model is loaded with 16 gigabytes of DDR3 RAM and is upgradable to 32 gigabytes. This is more RAM than most games will recommend for system requirements.

The GPU is Nvidia's latest mobile modelthe GeForce GTX 770m. Packing 3 gigabytes of super fast GDDR5 dedicated VRAM this bad boy will push high frame rate benchmarks even under high graphical settings. Some games will drop significantly in frame rates under super max video settings due to poor game run engines but I have never been happier with graphics performance since purchasing this laptop. This system also comes equipped with a super cooling feature at the push of a button. The fan system will kick into high gear and DROP temperatures of the CPU and GPU to extremely admirable levels making this laptop very versatile. This mobile GPU is second only to the GeForce GTX 780m which is Nvidia's top GPU model.

Three USB 3.0 slots. Two USB 2.0. Top of the line networking adapters for WiFi, LAN etc... The keyboard is the new SteelSeries with a customizable backlit keyboard that may be adjusted at the touch of a button. I have to stress how comfortable and responsive this keyboard is. I have never type so fast on another keyboard. The keyboard on this laptop is truly a wonder in and of itself.

The sound system is remarkable. Three speakersleft, right and bottom. Crisp and clear sound. No crackling or muffling. Even has some bass to it. The sound system is the best you can get for laptops. You won't be disappointed.

THE ONE FLAW...

This particular model comes with only a 7200RPM HDD. It has an open bay to add a solid state drive which will greatly increase performance when and if you upgrade. The system comes with a mounting bracket specifically for this SSD upgrade. It will be located inside the box with the power supply in a sealed bag. Windows will score this laptop at a very insulting 5.9 due to the HDD being the lowest sub score. The processor and memory score a whopping 7.9 and the graphics/gaming graphics score a very nice 7.1. Once upgraded, this laptop will score an all around 7.1.

Buyers will be pleased nonetheless. I am so happy with this system.

Compaq Presario CQ60-212US 15.6" Notebook PC. AMD Athlon X2 QL-62 Dual-Core Processor (2.0 GHz), 4G

Compaq Presario CQ60-212US 15.6' Notebook PC. AMD Athlon X2 QL-62 Dual-Core Processor, 4GB RAM, 250GB hard drive, SuperMulti 8X DVD+/-R/RW, 15.6' 16:9 Display, 802.11b/g WLAN, Vista Home Premium 64-bitIt has vga out but no svideo or hdmi out, other than that its great.

I've had this about one month now and so far not one issue. Compared to the last Compaq I bought this thing is way better. It seems that Compaq has learned about it pervious errors in making "introductory" laptops and corrected their mistakes. It has better quality parts than what compaq was using four years ago in its presario laptops. For example, the keyboard has keys that actually come off and go back on easily; and the machine is much more modular so taking user serviceable parts out and replacing them is easy (again keyboard is a good example, it requires only removing the battery and three screws which are aptly labled with a litte picture of a keyboard).

It seems like more thought went into this product than previous presarios. Its 4GB and dual core processor make running vista a reality. Putting vista64bit on it gives me a leg up because I actually have some 64bit apps to run on it, the most aggressive being the Oracle database. Screen is nice, keyboard is nice, touchpad works well, cdrom responds quickly when given a disc, the 8200m geforce video means I can actually run all but the most recent of games which is one of my requirements, 250gb disk lets me load lots of those games, and store lots of data in my database.

Again about the only thing I am sorry about is that it has no HDMI port and so I cannot hook up a hdmi monitor as a second monitor. It does have a vga out port so I can hook up a monitor that accepts vga input.

For the price I paid there is no way I will find anything better. Shop around, the price on this varies considerably, especially if you can find a special at a chain store. At the price I paid, I wish I could get another three for the family, but they sold out in one day all across my state. In my mind unless a person is a major gamer who has to play the most recent games, or has some special need, this laptop is more power than you can want. It will do all the basics great (internet, office toolset, email, even run a large database how bout that).

Lastly, sevice is good. My daughter's cat peed on the keyboard and shorted out a couple of keys. It took 40 minutes, but HP agreed to ship me a new keyboard for 70$ which I replaced easily rather than having to send it in for repair which would cost a minimum of 200$. Here is a recap:

1) dual cpu and 4gb make vista runnable and snappy

2) 8200m geforce video makes gaming possible for most gamers

3) inexpensive, but not junk, parts feel like quality

4) screen is nice sized with good picture at its highest resolution

5) 250gb disk gives plenty of space

5) has no problems like prior presarios (no overheating, no lost keys, no slow cpu, no dead pixels)

6) HP service came through for me and let me save 130$

** only negative is it that though it has a vga out port, it lacks a hdmi out port

Hail Flavius!

This is my first laptop purchase. I found it to be a real workhorse for power in a small package. The only drawback is the battery lasts only 90 minutes.

Like most men, I love shopping....electronics shopping dummy.

This computer I bought new for $400 on Feb. 15th 2009. Compared to my almost two year old HP desktop with 32 bit Vista, this seems flawless. This laptop does not come with a lot of periferal connectivity (but its a laptop), you can't expand the ram (but it already has 4 Gigs) and only has a so-so graphics card (like all packaged HPs) but who cares? I couldn't be happier. Lots of bang for the buck and 64 bit OS, yes sir.

I call again, it is on back order. Ten Days! this is ridiculous. My daughter has a Dell, called on a Friday, it was in my mail box Monday. Same issue. Different result. who knew I would be here touting Dell!

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH53 13.3-Inch Thin and Light Ultrabook (Silver Aluminum)

ASUS Zenbook UX31E-DH53 13.3-Inch Thin and Light UltrabookFirst of all, there's have been a lot of dispute regarding this laptop. Many have said that this laptop is a pure copy of the Macbook Air. I personally think not. Just because Apple was the first company to make something so small and so thin like the MBA, it doesn't mean that any other company who does something similar is a copy. The build quality on the chassis seems much stronger and of much more quality when compared to MBA. And, I must claim that this is the best looking notebook on the block. Much better looking than any computer with the Apple logo on it.

Touchpad Update the driver (downloading it from the Asus website). Before doing anything, do updates on the computer first. Some may say that this is absurd and that it should work out of the box. But, I think it's correct to say that you need to update the driver! Same goes for keeping your virus definitions updated for your anti-virus program! After the update, almost flawless trackpad. It's just as good as any Windows trackpad. Obviously not as good as a Macbook with it comes to smoothness (but Mac trackpad doesn't work well in Windows either since it doesn't have the drivers).

Sound Very very good sound for the form factor. For something so thin, I don't think you can find anything that matches the quality of these speakers!

Screen I personally did not have any viewing angle problems. The screen is very bright and high resolution, but I did have a dead pixel on the top left edge of the screen. This can be verify by the video I made for it! Also, there's a small quirk... The screen hinge is a little loose and when typing on your lap at a wider angle, you might experience the screen to fall backward. I also made a video of this.

Now, the worst of all! Keyboard! What were they doing with the keyboard? There's very little travel on the keyboard and absolutely zero support on the side of the keys. Longer keys like "Enter", "Shift", and "Spacebar" would experience problems where the key is pressed but it doesn't registered. This happens on other keys as well, but less occasionally. I made 2 videos of this problem and posted it on Youtube as well. You can see a few examples where FN + F11 (volume), I should be able to adjust the volume. But, when the FN key is pressed on the side and not in the dead center, it won't register. Therefore instead of changing volume, I get full screen! This goes the same for the enter Key where pressing it on the side or edge it doesn't move the words to the next line. Yes, you can argue that I just need to adjust my typing, but how hard is it to make a keyboard that works? Other manufacturers who use chiclet keyboard don't have this problem (Sony, Apple, HP). Also, how are you to guarantee that while typing 50-75 words a minute, your hitting dead center of every key including enter or shift.

Realistically, if keyboard is 100% registering every key, dead pixel wasn't there, and tigher hinge... I would recommend this as the Number 1 laptop in it's form factor (including price). I will be returning the laptop because of the problems above as I think it's pretty annoying correcting my typing as the keys don't register!...

~~ If you want to check out my video of the problems I listed above. Go to youtube website and int he search bar, look for "twkidM3". You should be able to pull up my username and it will have 5 videos of the problems. Enjoy!

EDIT~~~~~*****

11/23/11

Need to write an update. I ended up sending this thing back because the keyboard and a dead pixel problem. I did not have WIFI issues or other issues such as the computer shocking you when plugging in the power. But those two reason I listed which I did not like ended up to be a real pain in the butt. Key registering problem was huge and I would miss enter key or shift key left and right. Even FN+F9 sometimes did not register volume buttons.

Now many of you may ask, "Why don't you contact ASUS before returning it to Amazon? Get them to RMA the system because of DEAD Pixel Guarantee!" Truth be told, I did all that. I submitted a query to ASUS 2 days after I bought the system and made the videos. I posted all the videos on all the ASUS fanpages that you can find on facebook. I've also contacted Asus Corporate in Taiwan. They called me at midnight and told me that they will resolve the issue and have someone from Fremont, CA contact me regarding my issues. 3 days later, no response and no contact. So technically I was expecting someone to talk to me around the 9th of Nov. No response so I send it back to Amazon. Customer service? yes or no? you decide! Dropping from 3 stars to 2 stars... Still a beautiful unit with a lot of flaws and lack of customer service!

I decided to give Asus another chance on November 17, 2011 and bought another version of the Zenbook line called UX31-DH72. See my review there, it get's more interesting! =)

After reading the mixed reviews, I decided to purchase this laptop anyway. I loved the size and features and decided to risk it. Very glad I did. The slimness and weight make it super portable, and I have been impressed with the battery life. The keyboard isn't perfect, but after typing on it for two weeks I don't have a problem with it, just took some getting used to. Reviews that dislike the trackpad confuse me, as it's the best one I've ever used. I know I have the Elan trackpad with the newest drivers, but I find it perfect. It's responsive, spacious, clicks are accurate and it is smooth. The screen too is bright and I love the extended resolution. This is my first metal computer, so I'm worried about my metal watchband scratching it while I type, but other than that I am very impressed and would highly recommend it.

First, let me say I am not a computer nerd trying to find everything wrong with a laptop. Now, about the Zenbook, it is built very well, love the design and solidity of this ultrabook. The lid opens easily, there is a small tab on the top to open the screen from the bottom, so don't believe anyone when they say they can't open it. So I turned it on, I did the updates which were very easy to do, they were almost automatic. The trackpad and the wireless work with out any problems, I really like that the left and right click buttons on the pad actually click. Typing on the keyboard is different, but I have had no problems. The battery seems to last forever. Now for the best part, this thing starts up so fast, even after I loaded the Norton Antivirus on it. It wakes from sleep very fast, it connects to my wireless home network almost instantly. So, it does what a laptop is supposed to do, plus it's light, fast, and looks really good. I am probably going to buy one for my boyfriend for Christmas. Hope this review helps. Oh yea, the screen on this is really crisp.

After owning this zenbook for less than three months, the a/c adapter stopped working. Although covered by warranty, trying to get it replaced promptly for my daughter in college was ridiculously difficult. I called and opened a claim and was told I would get an email with instructions to follow. A full day passed. No email. I called them and asked them what happened and then they sent the email. I followed their instructions immediately which were to send back a fax. Two days later, they still said the fax hadn't been processed. At first, they said that process took 24 to 48 hours but then started to say it would take up to 72 hours. I could not get a supervisor to do anything to expedite the process. By the time they finally processed the fax, I had made other arrangements through Amazon to get a replacement shipped to my daughter so I told them not to charge me for expedited delivery. If they had sent it overnight or even two-day air at no additional cost to make up for the delays and inconvenience we had experienced, as I asked them to, I would not be posting this.

I will definitely buy my next ultrabook from Amazon but it will not be an asus product.

EDIT:

Update my review:

I love everything about this notebook except for the fact that mine died after 40 days of use. One second I'm installing Adobe Reader then next I can't even boot into windows. I tried using the recovery partition to no avail. It turned out to be a defective system board so I had to RMA it. When I recieved the RMA unit back it was broken, physicially broken. The screen bezel is cracked and it seems to be getting worse. I contacted ASUS right after I opened the box and now I'm waiting for this "investigation" to finish. ASUS is HORRIBLE at giving me any kind of information as to what is actually happening. I do not know how long this investigation is going to take or if they will actually take care of me and give me a zenbook that is both free of defects and isn't broken. I was told that someone was supposed to contact me from ASUS yesterday and that never happened...

I changed to review from 5 stars to 1 considering I got a defective unit AND have had a horrible experience with this RMA process.

I have been waiting for the PC market to catch up with Apple with a notebook comparable to the "Macbook Air". I believe that the Air has set the standard for what these new ultrabooks coming out are trying to achieve. However, I do believe that while the Zenbook is "like" a macbook and was definitely inspired by the Air, it is also different and unique with its own sense of style. I will try to briefly go over what I like and dislike about the Zenbook.

One thing I will recommend above everything else is going to a local store that has this beautiful ultrabook on display and getting a hands-on feel for what you will be buying. This way you can see for yourself if the keyboard/trackpad will be a problem for you and if you like the look of this beautiful machine. If you decide that this is the ultrabook for you then I would recommend shopping around for a price or buying it from amazon.com. I do NOT recommend buying it from a Bestbuy, Office Max or Costco store for the fact that you will NOT get the FREE 1 year accidental damage warranty that ASUS offers for purchase of this machine. (Please check comments for more information regarding the warranty or check the ADP warranty site for ASUS and read the fine print...)

Likes:

Build Quality and Design The build quality for the Chassis/Frame is second to none and matches that of the Macbook Air. Total WIN in this area.

Lightweight and Portable I will be using this for work meetings and college course and I will definitely appreciate that I will no longer have to carry around my old, large, bulky and heavy laptop as I did before.

Thinness Not only is it beautifully thin, it is also practically thin meaning that it won't take up very much space in my travel bag and it adds to the portability.

Screen Resolution I was a little worried when looking for a netbook/ultrabook to replace my old laptop that I would struggle when working in excel documents due to screen real estate. However the zenbook has a 1600x900 display which offers more than I could of hoped for in a 13" notebook without making the text too small.

Battery Life I never expected to get anything over 5 hours of battery life from any kind of notebook/netbook that would meet my needs. It is simply amazing and I feel "free" from having to constantly carry around my power cord.

Mouse Trackpad my Zenbook came pre-loaded with the latest drivers. I understand that there used to be an issue with the track pad, however I have noticed no issue what-so-ever. Infact I am really enjoying the feel and functionality of the track pad. I use the two-finger scrolling all the time and I am starting to use the three-finger functionality of it now. I will mention that I did need to bump up the speed of both the mouse pointer and the two-finger scrolling to make it "feel right" to me. So I would recommend that you play around with those settings until it feels right for you.

Thermal Design I was a bit afraid that being made out of metal, the bottom of the zenbook might become a little "hot". It surprised me that the thermals for this ultrabook are quite good! I guess the credit should go to the low voltage CPU from intel. Simply amazing and quiet!

Noise Level Most of the time the fan is off and when it does turn on it is barely noticeable. The loudest thing for me is my typing! No need to be concerned that it would be disruptive in a meeting, classroom or library.

Keyboard I really love that the keys for the keyboard also have that metal finish to them. I really pulls the design together for me.

Accessories All the accessories that ASUS decided to include with the Zenbook are just icing on my cake. I love the envelope that the Zenbook can slide into, very nice quality and does not feel "cheap"

Instant On Most ultrabooks will probably have this feature. No more waiting for my machine to "start-up"

ASUS Warranty A "free" one year accidental damage warranty. Nothing one could complain about that, expect that you must be careful where you purchase your Zenbook from to ensure that you will get this warranty. (Don't buy it from a BestBuy or OfficeMax or Costco)

Dislikes:

Webcam Poor quality webcam in my opinion. I honestly never use a webcam anyway on any of my computers so it isn't a big deal for me. However why put such a horrible webcam on such a beautiful and well though-out machine?

Viewing Angles (Up and Down)All laptop screens have issues with viewing angles in my opinion. All of a sweet spot range, some have a wider range than others. I will tell you that the range for the "sweet spot" on this machine is a little narrower than I would like.

Glossy Screen I really wish that ASUS would have Zenbooks with BOTH a glossy and a matte screen so the consumer could pick which screen would fit his/her needs best. Glossy means that any outdoor use for my Zenbook will be limited to overcast days only. I would have preferred a matte screen. In fact I almost didn't buy the Zenbook because the screen was glossy.

Power Connection I wish that the power connection into the Zenbook was a little more "firm", I worry that overtime it might have problems charging due to a wobbly power connection.

Wants:

Different Color Case I hope that ASUS might sell the same cases that they include with the Zenbook in different colors. I am not the biggest fan of the brown color that is sold with the Zenbook.

IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 15 0302A22 15.6" LED Notebook AMD Turion II P560 2.5GHz 1366x768 WXGA

IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad Edge 15 0302A22 15.6' LED Notebook AMD Turion II P560 2.5GHz 1366x768 WXGAI bought this computer for my parents 3 weeks ago and I gave it to them yesterday, they LOVE it! The screen is larger than my mac and the keyboard has more space so they can type in much easier. So if you are choosing a gift, it's perfect!

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E530 6272-4GU 15.6-Inch Laptop

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E530 6272-4GU 15.6-Inch LaptopI ordered this laptop (Edge E530 62724GU) from Amazon, specifically with Windows 7. I think Windows 8 is usable, but better suited to machines with touchscreen hardware. When I got the package, I thought that the computer was not new. I was wrong it was new; it had been opened to remove the original Windows 8 Pro and install Windows 7 Professional.

I bought this computer for my wife. After spending some time removing unneeded software and adding needed software, I had become familiar with it. The sound and camera are adequate for her needs, and the laptop itself seems sturdy. The software installed was more useful than some of the crapware on other new laptops.

My wife likes the feel of the machine, and the weight is acceptable; for lighter weight, you will pay more.

The display has 1 dead pixel, but she has not noticed it. If it had 3, I would have sent it back. It's annoying, but not a serious problem.

If this laptop lasts as well, and as long, as it feels like it will, it will have been money well spent.

I purchased this a few months back with the help of my son who is a computer science whiz ( what kid isn't nowadays, except mine wins awards all over the country because he's so smart!) Anyway, I know nothing about computers, all I can share with you is that it came very well packaged, 2 days after I put my order in. when my son set it up and did whatever it is you do to make them run, he had no problems. It seemed fairly easy and I was using it just a few hours after he started. The keyboard is very comfortable for me. I am not a big person, I wear small gloves so have small hands , they fit nicely when I am typing. The screen is a perfect size with nice color to the screen. I like the extra numbers bar on the right. It's light weight and thin so not inconvenient to carry. I've had no glitches or problems with this computer since purchase. Have been really happy.

This is a solid 4GB Core I5 machine with a fast hard drive (7200rpm) and it comes with Windows 7 installed and with a Windows 8 upgrade. With sufficient memory, the fast drive makes more difference in the computer's performance than a fast processor. The multitouch touchpad takes some getting used to. Because the computer has both a trackpoint and a touchpad, the 3 mouse buttons are above the touchpad. The primary user of this machine has been using XP at home and Windows 7 at work and does not like change. Windows 8 would be a very traumatic change. With Windows 7, this machine was the perfect upgrade, minimizing the change from the previous machine. I did delete some of the bloatware that ships with the machine. I also had to go to the Lenovo downloads for this machine to download and install the trackpad software so that I could shut off some of the functions that were causing confusion.

So I bought this laptop to replace my g/f's old Dell XPS 1340 that started overheating. And I have to admit. I am disappointed by this unit. Let's start with the build quality. Now the machine itself had no scuff marks and the plastic matte finish was alright, something to keep it simple, but I have to admit, the way that thing attracts grease is scary. I only used it yesterday and the trackpad and wrist-rest look so greasy. Everytime I used it, I had to keep wiping the surface. (I was trying to remove the bloatware for my girl, we'll get to the software in a bit). But my major concern with the build quality was the laptop dvd drive. Now MAYBE it was just a q/c problem with the one I got, but I simply HATE the fact that the drive is sticking out and doesn't close flush with the surface of the laptop.

Now for the software issues. Let's start with some positives. I came with Windows 7 Pro which I love wholesomely, but sadly, the machine didn't come with any serial key for it. So god forbid there is a software issue and I have to reformat? I am DEFINITELY NOT using that Windows 8 cd they gave me. Going to use that as a coaster! So that also kind of pissed me off. I have to see if there is some sort of third party software I can find online to extra the serial key from the machine so I can store it for future use.

Moving onto the bloatware. It comes with a bit of 3rd party software along with some lenovo bloatware. They were fairly easy to get rid off, just had to put up with the machine rebooting for every single bloatware I wanted to get rid off.

But the final thing that pissed me off, and dropped this review to 3 stars (I wish I could have given it a 4) was a very interesting problem. I have been using computers for some time and I know my way around the machine. But what I found VERY strange last night when I was running through the updates was a weird "failing to configure" error. So because it's a factory bought machine the updates were behind and I understood that. Usually I run the update programme, it finds 71 new updates so I just set it to run the updates automatically. Easy? NO! EVERY SINGLE TIME I RAN THE UDPATES, I kept getting a failure to configure error, So I ended up having to SELECT each pair of updates from oldest to newest, one by one and let the computer install the updates one by one. Needless to say that took 2 HOURS to finish. But it finished none the less.

I finally cleaned up the machine and got it running the way how I wanted it so I am contented for now. It's really for my g/f but she is not tech-savy so I am hoping there are no future problems. Lenovo has usually been renownd for built quality and software quality, that's why this particular machine confounded me. Did I just happen to get the one bad egg?

As for other things, the screen shows fairly clear for what an Intel HD4000 supposed to do. In the future, I shall upgrade the RAM for her so it runs more comfortably. They audio is fine, the Dolby Software does help to boost audio quality, however I did notice it glitch when I was trying to set up SKPYE. Don't know when Microsoft is going to sort out that problem.

I know the review was long, but I wanted to be meticulous for future customers who wish to purchase this item. There were not much others with clear reviews. So to my fellow amazonians online. I hope this helps!

17.3" I3 640GB 4GB 3

17.3' I3 640GB 4GB 3This is a very fine laptop in every regard except one. I used Toshiba Satellite laptops for years in business, and remember them as excellent machines--I could do just about anything with one of them that I could do with a full-blown desktop, include composing and editing lengthy documents.

Not so with this latest Satellite. It's the keyboard. I don't know what they were thinking--maybe make it look sleek or modern or something--but the keys are perfectly flat and laid out so close together that you practically can't feel any break as you slide across them. It's close to the feel of a continuous flat surface.

A proper keyboard has a reasonable gap between the keys, and the best of them have keys that are slightly convex, so that your fingers slightly depress into the key rather than rest on a flat surface. That makes rapid touch-typing with minimal errors much easier. With this keyboard, it's like trying to touch-type on a cookie sheet.

Other than that, its a sterling machine with an awesome display screen.

Apple iBook Laptop! 14" Screen G4 iBook 1.42 GHz Processor, 1GB, 60GB, SUPERDRIVE!, WiFi, Bluetooth

Apple iBook Laptop! 14' Screen G4 iBook 1.42 GHz Processor, 1GB, 60GB, SUPERDRIVE!, WiFi, Bluetooth, OS X 10.5.8 Leopard with Microsoft Office 2004!I am happy with this computer. I had trouble with some keys not working when I first got it. The keyboard was swapped out and everything was fine. A few days ago I started having trouble when I used the right shift key. Using that shift key caused everything I just typed to disappear. I have been using the left shift key instead and all is well. I will contact the seller for "help" but have not done so yet. The seller has been very cooperative about helping me get used to my new computer and replacing the faulty keyboard. I am just outside the one month warrantee that comes with a refurbished computer. I hope the seller will be able to solve the right shift key malady. I thought getting an Apple laptop for under $400 was reasonable price. I don't know if keyboard problems are common for laptops or if I am just unlucky.

Mac was delivered over 10 past the last day it was promised. The box was destroyed that it was sent in. When I tried to use the Mac the operating system wasn't installed properly resulting in the WiFi not working. Most of the promised applications wouldn't work because of that. After repeated attempts to resolve this with seller and being absolutely abused by them I ended up having to file an A to Z claim with Amazon. I would never, never, never consider purchasing something from ClasMac EVER again, even if they were giving it away for free! Please take this review very seriously and give them wide berth and save your self lots of frustration, abuse and time. They have another very bad review that they tried to convince me was the purchaser and not them, hmmmm.....

I am always skeptical when purchasing "refurbished" electronic equipment; especially computers. However, I am absolutely please with the quality of both purchases (that's right i came back for a 2nd). Additionally, the vendor was very prompt in replying to my emails regarding set up questions.

Without question i would/will use them for all my refurbished computers in the future and would encourage others to do the same.

Toshiba Satellite P755-S5381/ i5

Toshiba Satellite P755-S5381/ i5I have owned this computer which is no longer available in most outlet stores, online, and other sources any more. However, I purchased this one a year ago and it is running strong. First time Toshiba owner and I am impressed with the quality of the product. Picked mine up at a local office store for 600-700 bucks.

In a few days after receiving laptop, hard drive failed. Authorized dealer here on the Big Island of Hawaii, had to order a new hard drive, took a couple of weeks (manufacture claims they've had problems with hard drive). I also had to order a new recovery disk. I'm very disappointed. I still haven't gotten back my laptop.

ASUS G53JW-3DE Republic of Gamers 3D 15.6-Inch Gaming Laptop (Black)

ASUS G53JW-3DE Republic of Gamers 3D 15.6-Inch Gaming LaptopFirst of all I'm used to purchasing gaming laptops, but I don't favor brand names or anything.. I always look for the best deal out there. After owning an MSI-GT627 for more than a year I wanted to upgrade since hardware has evolved a lot since then (what else is new right). With all the 3d craze all around I got curious about 3d enabled laptops (and I had already heard about nvidia 3d vision) and found good reviews for the ASUS G51JX-3DE. So I went ahead and ordered one and I got hooked to 3d gaming!! The laptop was great (performance), form factor was not so great (more uncomfortable than g53) and it came with a faulty hdmi port so I had to return it. I did more research and found out about the ASUS G53JW-3DE which was to release soon (like a couple of months ago when I was still looking). I decided to wait for it and pre-ordered from amazon because if I purchase a laptop online I rather get it from big stores which tend to be more trustworthy (in case of returns etc). Ok so thats the story, now to the good part:

This laptop just rocks!!!!

It IS a powerhouse... it will run anything at high settings (without 3d enabled) and it won't even stutter when enabling 3d vision (the G51 kinda stuttered (lagged a bit) in some games like LostPlanet2 when I enabled 3d vision). It is well known that there is a performance hit once you enable 3d vision but if there is one laptop that can put up with that is this one.

Another reason why I decided to wait for this laptop when I did is because it is directx 11 compatible (which means it comes with the latest technology out there). Like I said, spec-wise this computer is just top of the line and it delivers.

Now on to the design .. which I think is nothing short than revolutionary!! (no im not an asus rep trying to sell.. lol) I really mean this. I first had seen the G57 (and its good reviews) but I dont know if you can call that a laptop anymore lol (its huge!). So that was one more reason for waiting for the g53! Here is the thing, the vents on the back of the laptop just work.. gone are the days of putting up with heat issues and burning your hands.. NO MORE! Like I said I'm used to purchasing gaming laptops and this is by far the best design I've seen, it is just incredible how they tackled the heating issues and the stealth fighter concept is cool too!!

If you have researched this computer you prob already know about all its other features (lighted keyb, full keyb (w/numeric), webcam, face recognition, 1usb3.0 etc etc) (which are also great) so I focused on performance and design.

It is also worth mentioning that I have already tried playing a bluray 3d movie on this computer and it worked flawlessly (with 3rd party software).

I know you also want to know if there is anything negative about this computer, well there are some aspects that could be improved but didn't affect my rating for it. But for the record:

Maximum screen resolution is hd only (720p). This is kind of a given at this point for 3d capable screens so there's not much they can do. But I'm sure full hd 3d capable screens will start to show up soon (if they havent). To me this was no biggie cause I've had full hd screens on a 15'' laptop before and I actually lowered the res because everything looked 2 small. I also hook up my computer to my 42'' lcd and I can run everything at FULL-HD if i want to that way too (without 3d until i get a 3d compatible tv).

No ExpressCard port. Yeah I know this sucks.. i was like what??!!! I have an expresscard tv card (that didn't get a lot of use but still). I was considering taking 1 star just because of this but then you have to remember it does come with a USB 3.0 port.. I guess you can't have everything.

AC adapter a little bit on the big side. This is not a big deal really but it adds to the weight and it might be worth mentioning.

And that's all I can think of right now.. if anything I will update the review.. so there you have it.. If you're looking for a 3d gaming capable laptop, this one is top of the line (a little bit pricey but well worth the money).. if 3d is not what you're looking for then look for other variations of the G53 which are cheaper.

Ascetically pleasing design. I love the rubberized palm rest and overall finish, no more smudge marks. The backlit keyboard is very sleek and terrific for late night usage.

I played Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit with the Nvidia 3D glasses, and performance could not have been better. I also played HD recording from my TiVO and it was flawless with no dropped frames. This is definitely a gaming and entertainment machine.

I had one major disappointment, the included Roxio CinePlayer BD software would not play commercial (AACS protected) Blu-Ray Discs. I tried two different commercial Blu-Ray discs and received the message "This application is unable to Activate the security files necessary to begin playback of the copy protected title. Please try again with an Internet connection." Roxio technical support told me that Roxio CinePlayer BD should play commercial Blu-Ray discs but, that the included software was modified by Asus and that I should contact them. I contacted Asus and did not receive a reply. I purchased Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra 3D Mark II for $79.95 and was then able to play commercial Blu-Ray discs. I fail to see the point of having a machine with Blu-Ray reader, that can't play back commercial Blu-Ray discs out of the box.

I was also disappointed by the pre-installed bloatware and advertising icons on the desktop. I would expect to see this in a $300 netbook, but not a premium $1700 laptop. Prepare to spend a couple of hours doing some house cleaning once you get your laptop.

I was happy to see built in bluetooth support (a feature often left out), but wasn't pleased with the lack of support for the 5Ghz WIFI band.

I also had a kink after running windows update, where I lost my hotkeys. A reinstall of the hotkey driver from the ASUS website fixed the problem.

Great laptop.

Pros:

Great design (cooling/ergo/keyboard/appearance)

Powerful (Haven't played any system-busters but L4D2 maxed ran great **and in 3D!**)

3D Vision (Quality varies with games but Tomb Raider, HL Source, L4D2, and many others look amazing)

Packaged (Included mouse is great, nice bag, if not a bit small)

Cons:

Slightly big for a 15.6 inch screen (but makes room for that keyboard)

Bloat ware (A few, like hotkeys and powermizer are userful, tons of others are not)

Backup Partition Located to left of OS partition (why not put it to the right so we can wipe it if we want to!?)

Location of I/O seem to be specifically for a left-handed person! (LAN, VGA, and power are on right -mouse side-, CD on left)

Conclusion:

Great laptop. Illuminated keyboard works great in finding keys with 3D glasses on, Hotkey to turn on/off 3D midgame, and an overall solid gaming platform. I would not hesitate to buy again.

ASUS A53U-AS21 15.6-Inch Laptop (Mocha)

ASUS A53U-AS21 15.6-Inch LaptopI was very skeptical of buying this product since I had seen so many negative reviews of it on the page of it's 500 GB counterpart that has all of the same specs. I am writing my review to tell you that it's not as bad as it sounds.

I have no idea why others are having problems with their laptops, mine is working perfectly.Sure, it is not lightning fast when it comes to installing new programs, but my older laptop was worse. Despite all of the needless programs that start with start up, it boots at a normal pace. There is a lot of pre-installed junk that I uninstalled a quick fix to anyone. Just make sure to do a quick Google search to make sure it's not important before getting rid of it. Vibe and Facelogin can go instantly.

I saw reviewers saying they didn't like the keyboard, but I do. It's not "too wide" and they keys are where they have always been. The speeds are fine, and the quality of the webcam is pretty good. I have used this laptop for just one day, but I already like it more than my older one. I have run Skype (in a call with my husband), Chrome, McAfee, and an installer for iTunes all at one time with no crashes or any drops in speed, and it held up very well.

The only few problems I had were as follows:

There is a lot of pre-loaded, useless junk on it

There is too much reserved space for the system (About 48 GB, I believe)

The battery life could be better, though it is not bad (running up to 4 hours on Power Saving setting)

The things I liked the most:

The keyboard is perfect (not to spaced out, not too crowded)

It keeps itself running very coolly, and it hasn't even gotten warm on the bottom after extended amounts of use.

The overall color and feel of the laptop

The quality of webcam and audio calls

Overall, 4/5 stars. Not bad, especially for the price (which it is definitely worth),despite receiving a lot of bad reviews.

I bought this laptop for my mother to complete school after her 3 year old HP laptop died using Skype and was skeptical due to few bad reviews that showed after I had purchased product. I setup the laptop and had no problems with speed or error codes etc. It comes with some bloatware but far less than what you get on HP laptops. The laptop is well built and put together. The display is sharp. I was able to install all her needed programs and add back her profile data that was recovered from HP drive without any issues and quickly to my surprise. I'm computer tech by trade and would recommend this product for price and basic computing needs.

this is a good very inexpensive laptop. it is not a game changer just an average disposable day in-out worker. the one nice feature that sets it apart is the keyboard placement. they have done something to help prevent the heels and palms of my hands from creating commands. i have no idea who shares this problem with me but i find typing much easier with far fewer mistakes on this laptop than on any other i have had. otherwise a nice computer-we'll see how it holds up over time. who knows?

Excellent service, I just got this amazing laptop and had a spill,a first for me and I called Customer service and they assisted with shipping and warranty, along with complete repair at no charge Thank You, back to the laptop it has windows 7 that will not be installed on computers any longer because of the move to install windows 8, but what they do not tell you is that windows 8 is for touch screens, not keybord use only, so there are many more keystrokes to get to where your going and having to adjust the screen with keyboard constantly. That said this laptop is great for streaming, the AMD program assist with adjusting with various stream websites I never had a problem and started enjoying this laptop more than my Toshiba laptop or dell desktop very user friendly just a note do not rush setup when first turning on new laptop and it will, after completing of updating, run very fast and after removing some of the preinstalled options extras makes using this laptop very easy and fun. Also it has 1GB dedicated RAM for Graphics card and yes some sharing is going on. Just got my laptop back from repair and all my info and security and settings have not been lost or removed. Working perfect.

When I read the reviews, I was worried about performance. During the first days performance was horrible. There was quite a bit of updating going on, and of course I installed some extra software. Once that was over, all was fine. Like the laptop a lot, especially considering its price.

APPLE MACBOOK PRO 2.8GHZ 500GB 17' ANTI GLARE MATTE LCD MC227LL/A NEW!

APPLE MACBOOK PRO 2.8GHZ 500GB 17' ANTI GLARE MATTE LCD MC227LL/A NEW!For three years now I have been PC free relying on my trusty MacBook Pro for all the heavy lifting. The replacement of my 2.16GHz MBP was long coming. The major problem was that essentially unlike a PC laptop which is functionally useless after two years, Macs can last forever. What doesn't last forever however is AppleCare Protection Plan For Portable Apple Computers 15 Inches and Above. Even though Macs are extremely reliable, Applecare is a necessary option. All computers, even Apple computers, are mechanical devices and subject to random and expensive repairs.

So hear was my dilemma. I had a perfectly functional three year old MacBook Pro. It had a market value, and I had a buyer. In a month when my Applecare warranty expired repairs were going to be expensive, eating up the value of the computer. Plus the Congress created a 100% business write-off for new computers for 2009, meaning that the government was going to subsidize a new MacBook Pro. So I sold my old laptop and bought this incredibly fast new 17 inch MacBook Pro.

First why 17in? Lots of people prefer 15 inch machines because of weight issues. This 17 inchat a about 6.6 pounds is significantly lighter than my old MBP. A larger screen is more effective for work, particularly when my work requires research and writing. The only option I got is the antiglare screen. It is true that the colors have more pop and sizzle with the shiny standard screen, but I am not a graphic artist. I read and write in black and white and a glare slows me down.

Battery life is another big factor. An 8 hour battery means you can work on transcontinental or even trans-Atlantic flights. Airline power connections are still few and far between in economy.

The 500GB hard drive is far more than I need right now. One option, although an expensive one, is a 256GB solid state drive. There are advantages. Unlike Hard Drives there are no whirling mechanical parts, making it more releiable. But that does not mean a solid state drive canot fail. They can and you will still require Applecare. the best insurance, along with Applecare is a Apple Time Capsule MB765LL/A 1TB which I used to "move" the data, music, photos, videos, applications, and keychain from the older laptop to my new MBP. (Hint: to do this wirelessly takes a while. Figure on seven or eight hours)

So now I have a flashier, larger, lighter version of my old MacBook Pro, soon to be in the loving hands of a new owner. I have no doubt he will be able to use it for several more years. My new MacBook Pro will be with me till the Applecare expires in three years.

Acer 15.6" Blu-Ray Aspire AS5551-4200 Laptop PC with AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core P520 Processor, 4GB DD

Acer 15.6' Blu-Ray Aspire AS5551-4200 Laptop PC with AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core P520 Processor, 4GB DDR3 Meory, 320GB Hard Drive, Blu-Ray Disc Drive & Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit EditionI got this from Walmart for $533 (got a $50 discount) and I've owned it for about 8 months now. I LOVE IT. Its my first laptop. I've NEVER had any issues with it. Its very fast and the HD quality of it is great. It was by far the cheapest BluRay/HD laptop I could find. I use it for 10+ hours every day and I have had no issues with overheating (knock on wood). Youtube HD videos look great, so do BluRay DVDs but I don't tend to use it to watch movies. I can connect it via HDMI to my TV if I want to watch something on the bigger screen too.

The one thing I can't figure out, is the HD webcam. It says its HD, but when you try to record in HD it doesn't let you. I tried getting support for it to figure out why, and was told I"d need to pay an outrageous fee to even speak to someone about it. So, you can take photos in HD via the built in HD Webcam/software, but you can't take HD videos...

Battery life depends on how bright the screen is. So you can get 4hrs if you have it as dim as it goes. I normally just keep mine plugged in all the time.

I'm glad I got this one, its awesome, and like I said, no problems with it. It runs great.

UPDATE 12/28/2011 Still enjoying this laptop a lot, but I wanted to let everyone know that I no longer get 4hrs on the battery. Its more like 3hrs and it depends on how dim it is and what exactly you are doing on it at the time. Otherwise I've had ZERO issues with this so far *knock on wood*!

UPDATE 8/2/12 This fell off my table backwards about 2-3 months ago while open and on. I can now no longer close the lid because the metal hinge INSIDE the machine has become totally ridged and all the plastic screw threads on that side have broken and come off. If I try to move the monitor at all, the hinge pushes against the keyboard. The only way for me to repair this is to replace the entire bottom casing. Due to this the "lid" to the keyboard is open a tiny bit near where the fan air pushes out...near where the plug is. I'm hoping this doesn't effect it, as I cannot afford to get this unit replaced or fixed. Too bad this happened after the warranty expired.

Occasionally this computer is extremely slow starting up. Tonight it failed entirely. I went to use the restore disks that I made when I first bought the computer and it made it through the pick a language screen and then locked on the choose an option screen only allowing exit. I will never buy an Acer prodct again.
