What a laptop!! I have no idea what that other guy was talking about with the slow responding issue. This laptop is extremely fast!! I am able to play all sorts of games like minecraft and call of duty on nice settings. I will recommend this to anyone who wants a multimedia laptop! I was really happy with my purchase but I wish they had a back-lit keyboard included, not that big of a deal though.
My sister needed a laptop ASAP and this was the best deal I could find (even looking at DealNews, etc). I was initially wary of buying this since the reviewer who gave it one star said it wasn't an i5, but an i3 that's in the box. I called Amazon and customer service contacted Dell on my behalf, confirmed that it is an i5 processor, and provided me with a direct line to the Dell rep if I had additional questions. They also reaffirmed that if the item wasn't as described that a return would be simple and at no cost to me. I placed my order and it arrived at my door in one day. It's a slick looking machine and it is in fact an i5 processor. 5 Stars for the product, Amazon's handling of my questions, and their rapid delivery.

I wanted a new laptop that was able to surf the web, be fast and most importantly for gaming for a good value and this is what a I chose. The screen is nice the HD picture is great i like that you have a button the fades the screen to black if you want. it is heavy though, so some people might not like that but i wanted a big screen i love this computer!
Everything is awesome about it i.e. sound, casing, screen, being fast everything. I'll highy suggest it for people who want a laptop for professional use.
This is my first chromebook, so I am still getting used to it. But it is lighting fast (compared to the dell I had before). Probably the most memory I use is watching Netflix, but I don't have a problem streaming. It starts up in seconds and the battery seems to last for days on standby, which is nice. Its super light and easy to carry around at work. You can pull it out like a phone and google for quick answers or bring up documents without the hassle of waiting for startup or a tiny screen. I haven't had any connectivity issues with it.

The product arrived as expected and packaged great. I have a MacBook Pro, and wanted to see If the Chrome OS was a functional product for me. I don't like this computer because doesnot have good internet connection when is on battery, yo can not use this laptop on battery for searching the web has to be conected to power suply, I most of the time use laptop on battery because in the place I live we don't have alway power, so to me this computer is useless. It's just new model but it good one. It light weight. It have one 4GB memory so I can easy add another 4GB memory. It's very nice outside.
I bought this laptop several weeks ago, right after it came out on the market, as a replacement for my old, obsolete Lenovo Thinkpad R61e (and as a backup for one of my desktop computers that, at nearly 7 years, is really showing its age). I was attracted by the balance of price and features, and so far I haven't regretted this purchase for a single moment (though I did get a wistful moment when I saw a similar HP model at a local computer shop that had a Blu-Ray drive :) )!
I've owned a netbook since April '08 when I bought one of the first mass market Asus EeePC Surf models. It was a useful travel tool, light, easy to store and secure, but it lacked two things.. screen size and an adult size keyboard. The HP Mini 5101 covers both those issues and more.

This notebook is more expensive for the specs of hardware you get, but if you like aluminum cases and hard-rubber around the keyboard, then this laptop is perfect for you. It has no problem playing flash videos (even full screen "HD" videos), and plays downloaded DVD's just fine, though I can't vouch for the ability to play blu-ray quality movies.
From what i can tell this is the exact same model as the dm4-1160us except with a smaller hard drive. That smaller hard drive should result in a $50 price reduction, but i picked this one up at Office Depot for $ after a $ mail in rebate. Due to the unusually low price i was convinced something must be wrong with this computer, but it's awesome. I've read complaints about the mousepad on the 1160... i'm not sure what they're referring to cause it's been perfectly fine for me, infact its been better than the asus, dell, and compaq laptops i've had in the past.
My previous laptop died about a week ago. The new Acer V-3-771G-904 is spectacular! At first I had trouble adapting to the new OS, and to the new Office suite, but now, after only a few days, I have adjusted and consider the purchase well worth while. The "machine" boots in 10 seconds, or less (I turned off the password sign-in. The display is clear, sharp, with vivid and true colors. The included software, while sometimes beyond my needs, makes such chores as photograph entry and handling very easy. I did not need a lightweight laptop, because I seldom have to move it very far. I looked at Acer's smaller and lighter models, and decided against them.
This, I've got to say, is an amazing laptop. This is the families first laptop, and we upgraded from a Dell Dimension 3000, so this review may not be too relevant to you, but i'm sure it should help somewhat.
In had a user who's not supposed to lift heavy things, and was shlepping around a Dell Latitude that was ~7lbs or so, not counting the laughably large power supply, and it was not working out well. There is a Microsoft Store in the area, so I figured I could go there and see a variety of Ultrabooks from various makers and compare build quality. I got there and found that the Microsoft stores now only carry systems with Windows 8 (barf) and are all touchscreens (because of the Windows 8 requirement no doubt). I am amazed that there is nothing at all in the Microsoft Store that was even a little bit "business friendly." Being the only non-employee in the place, I was free to ask the idle employees about this development, and they agreed that it was dumb. They previously HAD been carrying Windows 7/non-touchscreen systems, but had to pull them. One fellow told me that the Asus Zenbook had the best build quality of those they carried. At that point I left and came to Amazon and bought one sight-unseen. Additionally, it was pre-loaded with Windows 8, so I had to make sure there were Windows 7 drivers available (there are), because no way am I asking anyone to live with that mess.
Lack of Service from the seller. Laptop arrived damaged and when I contacted the seller he said I would be issued a partial refund of the money I paid. I tried all possible to obtain a refund. The seller lied and no replacement of replacement. I gave this seller 1000.00, however I only received 750.00. This seller was stealing from me and did not practice good customer service. A full refund or a replacement should of been offered. Neither was provided. The problem that laptop had was the CD tray did not open and was stuck. I am a computer technician and I explained that I was knowledgeable in all aspects of a computer. Be careful, this seller does not stand his products. The box it came in was not HP's box. It arrived in a plain box with no indication if was sold by an authorized dealer. Be careful since you are not guaranteed service for a computer which is damaged.
This is a basic, inexpensive laptop that works fine for everyday tasks (email, web browsing, etc.). This model is made for Dell by Compal, and it's fairly compact and portable: about an inch thick and around 5 pounds. It's not a rugged laptop (all plastic), so I wouldn't recommend it for road warriors. It's a reasonable trade-off of features vs. price. In order to reduce the cost, this is a no-frills laptop, but still has enough power for most home users. Unlike the Dell Switch models, this laptop does not have a removable top lid/cover. The diamond pattern "obsidian black" finish reduces the visibility of fingerprints. The power button isn't illuminated, but there are indicators on the front left edge.

This machine was a gift. It had many problems out of the box. HP refused to acknowledge my invoice for two months, (which proved that it had been purchased, at least this time, on June 28, 2012) saying that their records said that it had been purchased before a year before, and that there was out of warranty. That makes me think that this piece of garbage was already somebody else's headache, returned and sold to me for new.
