Awesome I would reccomend this. Very easy to use and I love the app style where everything is right there in front of you where it's quicker to get to the things you need to.Read Best Reviews of ASUS F75A-EH51 17.3-Inch Laptop Here
I have a 4 1/2 year old Dell laptop and I thought it was time to replace it with a newer laptop. I have had no problems whatsoever with my Dell in all that time. I fully expected and wanted to buy a new Dell with a 17 inch screen but the prices seemed a bit high. By the way I'm a "Make or buy American" guy and I have been in Austin, Texas where the Dell headquarters is/was(?). I made the minor mistake of asking one of our computer whizzes at work what he thought about Dells and he gave me that vague look and speech "Dells are OK" but then he said "I've heard a lot of good stuff about ASUS". So I looked up ASUS up on the internet and all I saw was an address in California...my search stopped there and I thought I was getting an American brokered (at least) computer. ASUS was cheaper because it's all foreign.Epilogue:
-The DVD player skips and burps, even on brand new disks.
-Going to the Start screen interrupts or stops other functions.
-I'm not sure if the Instant On feature is giving me the good and refreshing benefits of a cold start.
-It just doesn't seem that much faster than my 4 1/2 year old Dell laptop.
I'm just kinda' surprised.

This is my second Toshiba Satellite laptop. I bought my first in early 2007, have used it for several hours most days, and it is still going strong. I needed a separate laptop for a new job and this is just perfect. Nice keyboard layout, and I like the starter office program that you really do not have to upgrade if you just want to do simple documents. Nice and lightweight around 5 pounds to take places, good screen resolution. So far, so good. Price is right!Read Best Reviews of Toshiba Satellite C655D-S5336 15.6-Inch Laptop - Black Here

for all you "kids" that dont know the half of it, great computer, great price. The first laptop i bought cost me 3K....i know, long time ago. For the bargain basement price of $349 i got myself a lean-mean-fightin machine. Love it..if i had kids i could afford to send them all to college with this bad-boy. Suggest step away from google chrome, ram hog. Best thing about this one, upgrade-able to 8g ram, long time before you need to upgrade on the computer itself. throw another g of ram in....lightening speed. go toshiba and amazonToshiba PSLD8U-0Q3033 L355-s7905 Intel 2.16ghz 3gb 160gb Dvdrw 17 Windows Vista

Acer Aspire E1-571-6811 15.6-Inch Laptop (Glossy Black)

I just received this yesterday. It was so easy to set up and I am cruising around on it like crazy. My other computer constantly froze and shut down plus the screen didn't work so I had to have a monitor on the side so this one is amazing. I love having a number key on the side and also on the top. It does not get warm at all I love it.Bought this to replace my Mom's desktop computer. My only complaint is Windows 8. Not a fan of Windows to begin with but 8 is a real loser in my opinion and it is very different from the former versions of Windows so it was confusing. With some modifications, I was able to make the desktop similar enough to her old computer that she was comfortable with it.
As for the computer itself, it is wonderful. Plenty of processor and RAM for just about any need. Be aware that it does have the trackpad offset to the left due to having a full numbers keypad on the right. This makes typing a bit awkward for anyone who is used to having the trackpad centered. But since Mom had never used a laptop, she didn't know the difference. I was the one who struggled.

The Acer Aspire E1-571-6811 15.6-Inch Laptop is fairly light weight, loaded with Windows 8, and grants free access to the Acer iCloud. Many of the other pre-loaded programs are interesting and convenient, e.g. the news feed. Some are a little confusing to figure out, e.g., the Camera (specifically where the folder is with the pics I've just taken. The folder is, of course, in the Pictures under Library, but the subfolders are by date, which can be a bit confusing when there are a lot of subfolders, and the dates all begin with the year, then the month, then the day).
The Right click sometimes doesn't respond when clicked initially, but may take a couple of pushes to respond. This bothers me greatly. But since I bought the computer online, I'm not about to send it away for diagnosing and repairs when it only gives me trouble intermittently.

The quality and speed is so much better than my old windows XP that I love it. Coming from XP, windows 8 has areas that I find very difficult. But, in time I hope I am able to master it.Want Acer Aspire E1-571-6811 15.6-Inch Laptop (Glossy Black) Discount?

But it arrived with a serious graphics problem.
HP are great and they finally fixed it.
NOW i find it FREEZES UP every day, without warning after about 5-7 hours.I agree with the other reviewer. I have had nothing but issues with this $3,000 machine. It has had a new motherboard, then I was asked to reformat my computer, then a new hard drive. I'm still having issues. To HP's credit, they are in the process of sending another machine to replace this one, an 8760W. Hopefully, the next one works. I'm weary.

Sorry, I hate to bash a product and sound like some vindictive newbie, but this EliteBook is the worst computer I've had EVER. They have replaced the motherboard 3 times, the sound card once, the video card once. These have all been separate visits. It has been down more than up. It is not a production machine.HP support is great, but when you spend 2 hours a day trying to stabilize something your livelihood depends on it all gets a little old. It also seems unable to run a VM.
It's a $2,700 dog, look elsewhere.

I'm not sure why every review is negative. I have had several of these and never had ANY major problems. It runs fast, it is stable and there is nothing even close to the build quality of this machine. This is the best laptop I have ever had, and I have several others of the elitebook line. Take it from a professional laptop repair guythis IS the best out there.I don't know about this provider, but I know about this laptop. It's without question the best laptop I've ever used. The AMD 7820m graphics drivers are tricky, as they are tailored to professional ISV applications, which most people will never use. Getting AMD's latest ATI driver will register the laptop with a gamer's card, a newer non ISV approved 3D driver, and better luck with everything that isn't ISV out there. The reason this laptop is so special is because of it's graphics card that outputs a billion colors without glitches to the appropriate external monitors. Also, it renders 3D quickly. This laptop does many 3d applications with ease. Rhino 4 works better on the gamer's card driver, but Rhino 5 64 bit runs the workstation ISV driver well. The max ram for the i5 560m is 8GB 1066ram... while the i7s had a 32GB max ram for the this HP 17" style. Additionally, now in 2013, the current software does well with this hardware, while when this system was selling, Adobe Flash notoriously caused a blue screen on 10-bit color and other workstation driver issues. Even disabling the AMD External Events only minimized the Blue Screen Kernel crashes from Adobe Flash. Now, everything is fixed with updates, and it runs without issues if you know what you are doing. I'm betting people's issues were on the consumer assumption, 'it should work'... no, this laptop was designed in mind with IT support available at the office. Today in Spring of 2013 it's a consumer friendly laptop after all first party and 3rd party software updates... and a powerhouse laptop of ridiculous proportions... but when this came out, it was a lot of horsepower with a tech savvy friend needed.
