DELL LATITUDE D620 Duo Core 1.8GHz 1GB RAM 40GB Hard Drive WiFi Laptop Notebook Computer Windows XP

DELL LATITUDE D620 Duo Core 1.8GHz 1GB RAM 40GB Hard Drive WiFi Laptop Notebook Computer Windows XP ProI am amazed at how capable this computer is. I use it for the basic functions of reading and writing E-mail, surfing the web, purchasing items on the web, paying my bills, watching youtube videos, watching DVD movies and keeping track of everything I write down on the computer.

Dell did a good job of refurbishing this 2005 model computer with an excellent operating system, Windows XP. The keyboard is excellent. The trackpad is good. The aspect of the display (similar to a movie screen) is great for spreadsheets and reading blogs. The clearness of the display is excellent.

The weight of the machine is not bad at all. It only has 2 USB ports but I use a 7-port expander to handle all my USB devices. The Kensington style locking port works well.

I usually upgrade my computers to the maximum RAM but this came with 1 GB and it has been just fine.

I have been buying Dell computers for many years and this is my favorite one so far.

I got it for my 26 yr old son for a birthday/Christmas gift, I did a lot of review reading and I also had some Amazon gift points accumulated so I really got a great deal, but when he opened it he was real quiet-for a long time-and I'm thinking "crap," I got an old relic and he's trying to think of a way to let me down gently and here it wasn't that way at all. He felt bad because I got him such a nice gift and I wanted to slug him for putting me through all of that unnesessary anxiety. He's had it rough lately and I wanted something special just for him and I know he's wanted one for a long time and this is perfect and the software on it is great and he truly is really, very happy, so, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I hadn't even opened up the laptop, it seems, and it began FALLING APART. The battery had zero charge, so I bought a replacement, and then the keyboard keys began falling off within a week or two. And then the hard drive died. The 1 GB of RAM is not enough for the laptop to function properly and you'll have a hard time even browsing the internet and using Word at the same time w/out upgrading the RAM on this device. Plus, my laptop just didn't work -I would not recommend buying from this vendor -Dell Latitude's are very solidly built laptops. This one fell apart immediately and now they are refusing the allow me to return the item. Filing a claim with Amazon!!!!!

Product arrived way ahead of scheduled time. Was exactly as described with Windows XP. I was really surprise to see that it was programmed with Microsoft Office 2007 including Publisher, Outlook and Adobe which I thought was awesome. Internet connection is very fast. Only downfall is that it is an older model which is a little heavy and it doesn't have the side keypad that is the only reason why I gave it 4 stars. The computer condition was great minor little scratches nothing too noticeable. Also, it came with the power cord. So, far I haven't had any problems. I will be ordering another labtop for my son. I'm happy with my purchase.

Acer Aspire E1-531-2697 15.6-Inch Laptop (NX.M12AA.002) (Black)

Acer Aspire E1-531-2697 15.6-Inch LaptopVery happy with this product quite speedy arrivalwell-packed and easy to set-up.

Strongly recommend this product for home use.

Since I had been using an Acer Aspire Notebook I was already familiar with this particular brand, but I needed to upgrade some programs (i.e. Microsoft Office and Windows) and I could not put them on my little notebook. It just would not accept the more advanced programs. I particularly needed to have access to the Excel program in Microsoft Office and I can now use this program. I am very satisfied with my new Acer Laptop.

the only thing is negative is that there were no instructions included with this order. That is fault of people who packed it, in my opinion. I don't know how to get something but perhaps can find online.

Lenovo G585 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black Textured)

Lenovo G585 15.6-Inch LaptopWindows Experience Index 3.3 (Determined by lowest subscore)

Processor: Calculations / sec 3.3

Memory (RAM): Memory operations / sec 5.3

Graphics: Desktop graphics performance 4.0

Gaming Graphics: 3D Gaming performance 5.6

Primary Hard Disc: Disc data txfr rate 5.8

HARDLY a dog for what it went for on Black Friday. I'm very satisfied with the performance thus far. It is also my first experience with Windows 8, but I'm picking up on it pretty quickly. The G585 is working very well with it. Sure, speed could always be increased, but I'm stepping out of an ACER netbook. Anything is going to feel like lightning to me.

Lenovo customer service is also second to none when it comes to hardware support.

I always build my own desktops, and though I love the mobility of the laptop, I hate paying laptop prices knowing that I could have 5 times the computer for the same price if I built it myself. But, for the Black Friday price, this thing was a steal.

I really just wanted a laptop for word processing, browsing the web, and responding to email while I was on the go. I wanted to replace my netbook, which was barely running at that point, but knew that I wanted more screen real estate going forward. Given what I was using it for, anything that cost more than this was absurd. This, however, was agreeable.

To my surprise, though, it's not too shabby for gaming. I installed Steam and have been playing Torchlight II, and even beat Portal and Portal II over Christmas week without any hangups. On the default settings, of course. It's not a gaming rig, after all.

I also love that they included a full 10-key on the right hand side of the keyboard. I can't imagine having a laptop without this now. It's awesome.

I like the multi-touch trackpad overall. I've tried to fine tune the sensitivity, but it still seems to have a few quirks, which are annoying but not a deal breaker. It will often zoom when trying to perform two-finger scrolling. It will also often scroll in the wrong direction if you're trying to scroll a very short distance. There was a problem with it activating app switching when trying to navigate too far to the left of the trackpad. There's an option to reduce the area that will activate app switching (or turn it off completely if you prefer), so now it only switches apps when I start with my finger off of the trackpad and swipe in from the left, just like using a Windows 8 tablet. Two-finger scrolling doesn't work in parts of the Metro UI, which is annoying.

The only thing that really irritated me, and the same thing that irritates me about all laptops, is the bloatware. I expect them to be there, but in this instance, most of the applications that Lenovo pre-installed merely duplicated the features that were already included in Windows 8 by default. Completely useless, and then taking up my hard drive space to boot. For the price, I can't really complain about having to take an hour or so to hunt down all of the junk they installed to remove it, but if I'd paid full price, or the price of most other laptops, I'd have much less to say about this laptop that's positive. It's 2013. People know how to use computers, they know what software they use, and they don't think they're getting a better deal because you're shipping your products with "OMG! So much free stuffs!" It's time for manufacturers to start shipping with clean, unmodified installs of Windows. The hardware is cheap. Most of what I'm paying for is software licenses. Given that, I'd like to get the software I'm paying for.

After reading a magazine tech review for Lenovo computers I thought I would give one a try.

Purchased this model for my daughter who needed one for school. and boy was that a mistake.

At a little over 3 weeks the computer would not start up but instead will only show a black screen with the Lenovo logo.

It will not go into safe mode or anything else. However I Did some research on the net and this is a very common problem with Lenovo laptops(regardless of model).

The problem seems to be a bad motherboard which can be replaced if sent back to the company and as usual you pay to have it sent in. Personally I'm still waiting on the return results.

Note: this is my 5th laptopin the past I've purchased HP/Compaq's & Toshiba brands and all are still running without fail.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from Lenovo

Sony VAIO VPCSE25FX/B 15.5 Inch Laptop (Jet Black)

Sony VAIO VPCSE25FX/B 15.5 Inch LaptopI found this laptop to be well thought out and comfortable to use. The i5 processor provides plenty of power for almost any task while not running so hot as to cause the fans to continually go on and off as a lot of the i7 laptops do out there today. The fans are pretty quite most of the time except during long software installs like installing multiple Windows Updates.

The display quality and lighted keyboard are excellent. The only "Con" of the unit I observed was that while running during ordinary tasks the battery life averaged only 2.5 hours. An extended life "sheet" battery is available but it has the disadvantage of adding thickness to the laptop. The laptop is very light and I wish Sony had designed it for a larger standard battery even if the weight would have been more.

All in all though this is one fine laptop and recommended.

I've owned this computer for several months, and it has been a great computer. I saw there was a 2 star review of this model and I wanted to share my experience regarding his comments, and also some of thoughts of my own.

Fan Yes it is located on the back and and substantially "blocked" by the screen, but the screen is so thin that I think it acts somewhat like a radiator, and like the other reviewer, (Neil) said, heat is not an issue. Also, in my experience the noise from the fan is minimal, (usually I have to put my head closer to the computer to confirm that the slight whirring noise is actually coming from the computer, and not something else nearby) This is by far the quietest computer I've used, save for some Apple laptops that don't have a fan at all.

Yes, it is mostly, if not completely plastic on the exterior, but it doesn't seem like "cheap" plastic, it has a decent texture, and it doesn't look gaudy as many laptops do.

Battery life is not very important to me, but is does have enough life to play about 1-2 BD movies, or 2-3 DVD movies.

The 1080p HD Screen is this laptops strong suit, I also really like the back-lit keyboard with auto on/off.

The touch pad is accurate and easy to use with both light or firm touch.

So far I haven't experienced any soft/hard-ware issues, the computer always starts up quickly, and has NEVER needed a restart, (other than restarts required for software installs).

I have used both the STAMINA and SPEED settings, fan speeds for mine don't differ very much. I haven't noticed any difference in "speed" of operation between the two settings, but what I have noticed is when the computer is in the STAMINA setting, the screen refresh rate dramatically reduces, and while under florescent, (60Hz) lighting, screen flashing is noticeable. I think this is the big contributor to extended battery life, (having the screen "on" less of the time, (probably 60Hz instead of 120Hz or more)). Also, when the computer is set to Speed, the WiDi feature doesn't work, I don't view this as a problem, because I'm convinced that most of what this switch does is change the screen refresh rate, and since you won't be using the computers screen it shouldn't be a downfall.

My Conclusion: Very nice laptop, minimal fan noise, stays "cool", awesome screen and back-lit keyboard, nice touch-pad, light weight, versatile, powerful, and I think, the only light weight, large HD screen, BluRay Disc playing laptop on the market. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Thanks for reading,

Sean

I've had this computer for about 2 weeks now and my impressions so far are mixed. The computer is a great balance of features and portability, especially for the price. It is thin and light weight, which is great considering it has a large hard drive and blue-ray player. I also love the LED backlit keyboard. The display is great as well. Now for the bad I hate most Windows computers come with so much junk software. This thing seems to be relying on too much of the processor considering it's new and I haven't installed much yet. When I open performance monitor with no programs open, it hovers around 5% CPU usage. I may end up doing a clean reinstall of Windows to see if it addresses the problem because deleting programs hasn't helped. The microphone is also terrible. I don't know if it's the fan that causes interference, but the microphone is not acceptable for recording or for Skype-ing. I had to buy a USB microphone (there is no microphone jack), but now I have fantastic sound quality. I record videos so I probably would have done this anyway. And for the ugly as I mentioned, the processor seems to be overworking for some reason. Unfortunately, the fan placement is terrible. The vent is on the bottom of the computer toward the right side. There is no way not to have it sitting on your right leg if you have it on your lap, constantly blowing warm air on your leg (and I do mean constantly the fan has not turned off since I've owned it, except when it's in sleep mode). This thing definitely runs warmer than I would like. I'm probably going to end up buying a cooling pad for it because it's intolerable in the summer. I would actually give this computer 3.5 stars if that were an option. The only reason I bumped it up to 4 is because it's probably the most computer (without bulk) that you can get for the money.

I was really excited about this laptop until it I saw it and used it.

The huge cosmetic surprise was that this laptop is essentially ALL PLASTIC. Some reviewer said it is aluminum which is totally wrong. Every major external part is made of plastic (like many laptops).

The biggest functional flaw is by far the FAN PLACEMENT. It is located on the BACK of the laptop. Normally this isn't a bad thing, except on this laptop, when you open the lid/screen, IT BLOCKS THE FAN. IT'S SO FUNNY. I can't imagine who would design something so stupid? If you open the lid/screen, it essentially blocks the fan causing the fan to run harder and harder making a lot of noise. Essentially Sony sacrificed function for style (cooling and fan placement is not something you want compromised).

CONS:

-FAN PLACEMENT (See above)

-Fan runs on high and very loud even for minimal loads

-ALL PLASTIC BODY (the plastic seems sort of cheap and light, likely to reduce the weight)

-Battery is life not good (less than would be expected for a 15.6")

-Only three USBs, all placed on one side

-It just has a weird look to it. It's nothing like the more or less standard look you find on HPs or MacBook Pros. It looked amazing in the pictures, but I didn't like how it looked in person. I think the square, sharp edges and corner (instead of round ones) have a lot to do with it.

-The "Stamina" or "Speed" manual switch on the top left of the keyboard is almost unique to this laptop. It is used to switch between integrated or discrete graphs. Normally this is a plus, except this laptop CANNOT HANDLE THE HEAT from "Speed" or discrete graphs so you always leave it on "Stamina"

PROS:

-Very light, among the lightest 15.6" laptops you will find (the cheap plastic probably helps with that)

-Very comfortable keyboard (similar to Lenovo keyboards)

-Full HD 1920x1080 resolution (major plus)

-IPS LED Backlit technology for the monitor (again, major plus)

CONCLUSION: This laptop is a very light weight 15.6" laptop with an incredible display. Just expect an ALL PLASTIC body and expect loud fan noise even under minimal loads. Surprisingly, heat was not an issue, but very loud fan noise was.

Toshiba Satellite L635-S3030 13.3-Inch Laptop (Neo X Texture in Grey)

Toshiba Satellite L635-S3030 13.3-Inch LaptopThe Toshiba Satellite L635 is a great basic laptop, and is commonly available new for under $400 (I paid $399.00 plus sales tax.) This computer is really designed for kids, and ruggedness is the name of its game. It has a washable, removable rubberized covering for the keys which minimizes damages from liquid spills, and is generally made to be treated rougher than many lightweight machines. It comes loaded with a lot of software for children (including a truly peculiar Lego Batman game,) most of which I uninstalled immediately. The wireless works great. For basic Internet, email, and word processing requirements this computer is perfectly adequate; gamers or people who frequently use graphic-intensive programs are likely to find the Celeron processor to be a bit poky. Of key importance to me was that this machine, unlike many in its class, has a DVD-SuperMulti (+/-R double layer) drive, which is something I wanted without carrying a separate external drive.

By far the biggest hassle in setting this machine up was accessing the preinstalled Net Nanny software, and subsequently uninstalling it. (Hint: my machine had to be connected to the Internet, and it would not allow me to do that wirelessly until I had logged in to Net Nanny with the included password.) Really the only negative I found with the machine is that the battery life indicator is a bit misleading: it can go from having a reasonable percentage of charge and time remaining indicated (e.g. 25 percent and an hour or so) to the batteries dropping off the line very quickly and without warning; the solution is obvious: plan to plug it in when it gets below whatever threshold you find is appropriate (I would start thinking about it around 25 percent.) Having said that, I found battery life to be decent (three hours or so easily,) and several power-saving modes are available.

While this machine is really made for kids (and I certainly recommend it in that role,) it's also a light, durable, uber-portable laptop suitable for adults that need a basic computer, too. For what it's intended to do it's a great deal if you can get it for $400 or less.

I needed a laptop and I was a bit short on cash. This was 399.99 at Best Buy (On 2/14/2011), I noticed the other reviews said it was $499.99 so it must have come down. NO clue why it's so expensive on Amazon! Anyway, I bought it for myself and it's SO awesome. I'm rough on technology so it being very durable was a plus. Feel of the wipeable keyboard takes a few minutes to get used to, but now I love it. So cool knowing I could spill on my keyboard and just pull my keyboard off, wash it and pop it back on. I just deleted the kid's games and net nanny off it and its just like a regular computer. Awesome awesome deal. Great for kids, obviously. Just don't buy on AMAZON WHEN YOU CAN GET FROM BEST BUY FOR $399!!

I have had this for 3 days so far it has exceeded my expectations (except audio). This is a rugged laptop period. Good for kids, good for travel and 13.3" is the perfect screen size. This is a dual core Celeron (cache is low vs. i3/i5). So far hasn't choked on any application. First set up and then remove Netnanny if you have to. Comes with 2 fee movies for the kids.

It looks nice (with the green accents). Has a DVD multi drive (with Label Flash), multi card reader (no XD), 3 USB and 1 VGA (no HDMI/DVI) at this price point (at Best Buy). Spend another $30-$40 to add RAM and I think you are all set. Shall update once I install additional RAM. Also you may want to buy a Plugable USB 2.0 Universal Laptop Docking Station with DisplayLink DVI/VGA up to 1920x1080, Audio, Ethernet, and 4 Available High-Speed USB 2.0 Ports to de-clutter your desk.

EDGE15 Amd P340 2GB/320 Dvr C W7-64

EDGE15 Amd P340 2GB/320 Dvr C W7-64I have had a number of laptops over the past 30 years and this one is solid but not great. My last laptop is an HP. The set up for the HP was well thought out with the owner's manual right on the desktop. There was limited paper documentation with the Thinkpad.EDGE15 Amd P340 2GB/320 Dvr C W7-64 I wanted to upgrade the memory on my Thinkpad Edge, but finding information was not either intuitive or easy. I still cannot tell you how I finally found it. It is on the drive too but there is no direct button to the owner's manual on the Thinkpad. I still do not know what the buttons above the touch pad are or how to use them. I searched for that information too. Lenovo needs to improve their owner manual for this product. The information is there but it takes some searching to find.

The computer works well, but does not measure up to my HP. My HP laptop is a 17" (the Thinkpad is 15.6") and the numerical keypad on it makes a difference in usability. I cannot use the Alt key on my Thinkpad to create alt-key icons. My HP is also dual-core but was large so not as portable as the Thinkpad. Of course, the Thinkpad has better graphics and speed than my three year old HP.

Considering what I paid for this product, it works well for my needs. It is a good entry level product.

I got this laptop and the backspace button stuck a bit. There is an annoying red light on the "thinkpad" logo that is always on; on both the front of the cpu and right by the keyboard. This laptop doesn't come with a 9-key pad on the keyboard. 2GB is not enough to run windows 7 (64bit) smoothly. You could upgrade to 8GB but each 4GB card will run about $75, might as well spend the money up front on a better machine and get a better processor as well. It ran slow out of the box so I returned it and got a Gateway 4GB 500MB with a full keyboard and spent only 13 dollars more. I won't even think about getting another Lenovo. Lenovo is IBM's personal computer department that was sold to China. I'm glad they stuck to the mainframes, good thinking IBM.

Sony VAIO VGN-FW490JEB 16.4" Notebook (2.53GHz Core 2 Duo P8700 4GB RAM 320GB HDD Blu-ray Read/Writ

Sony VAIO VGN-FW490JEB 16.4' NotebookAt 6.5 pounds, the FW isn't the lightest laptop on the market, but it is probably the best value out there. Sony allows you to select a pre-built model or customize one yourself. My machine is customized:

1080p LCD Screen

ATI 4650 1gb Graphics Card

2.53ghz Intel Core 2 Duo (3mb L2 Cache)

4gb DDR2 @ 800mhz

320gb Hard drive @ 7200rpm

Blu Ray Player (Read only)

Windows 7 64bit (came with Vista 64, but I upgraded when 7 came to campus)

This machine is great for everything. Gaming, image editing, word processing, you name it, it can do it. It does get a bit hot, so lap use should be limited to the length of battery life which is roughly 2 to 2.5 hours. The keyboard is chiclet style and is unfortunately not back-lit. The speakers could be better, but I am usually wearing my MDR-500 Sony headphones (which I also recommend for people who like pop/rock music).

The only complaints I have are centered around weight and placement of ports. Like I said, it is fairly heavy. I have a messenger bag that I used my first semester this year at Indiana University, and it got extremely heavy when dragging it around campus. I am going to find a backpack so that it is not as much of an issue. It is also worth noting that its 16.4 inch screen makes this thing fairly large so it take up a lot of real estate on your desk. VGA, HDMI, Ethernet, Firewire and Express Card slot are on the left side, and the tray loading Blu Ray drive and three USB ports are on the right. I would prefer if the USB ports and Blu Ray drive switched positions (drive moves forward and USB ports move backward), however, they work where they are.

Build quality is pretty good. I always seem to compare any laptop against the unibody Macbook Pro, and the FW holds its own. Even though it is entirely made of plastic, it looks great and is of solid build quality.

I chose the FW because it was the best deal on the market. I looked at every major brand and I could not find a cheaper computer with the same specs. In fact the only one that came close was, I believe, a Dell XPS. It was almost $200 more! The FW is a mulitmedia/gaming machine. It will play Crysis at 720p medium settings at 40 fps. All other games are playable at 1080p and high settings. It can also do some pretty hard core image editing. This a great all around computer.

Asus X52FXR6 / X52F-XR6 / X52F-XR6 15.6, Intel Core i5-480M, 4GB RAM DDR3, 640GB Hard Drive, Window

Asus X52FXR6 / X52F-XR6 / X52F-XR6 15.6, Intel Core i5-480M, 4GB RAM DDR3, 640GB Hard Drive, Windows 7This is a great laptop. I looked for a while before settling for this one, and I'm not disappointed. My HP died after only 2 years (after the warranty expired of course!) so I wanted to change brands. I settled for ASUS because they have the best reliability reviews among all manufacturers, and it was $550 at Fry's! The Intel core i5 makes this machine run like a breeze. Its screen is brilliant with great color gamut and contrast. The keyboard is chiclet style, and very comfortable. It comes with a numeric keypad, some people may find the keys a little too small, but I find them very useful. I've been running intensive processing software (Seti@home) and the keyboard never felt too hot, core temperatures stayed between 72-79 C. The fan is very quiet and never got too loud even when processors were running at 100%.

Pros:

Fast processor (comes with Intel's first i5 generation CPUs)

Bright screen

Quiet fan, keeps cool.

Great keyboard

Number pad

Cons:

Reflective screen, can be bothering if you have a strong reflection.

Poor sound quality: the speakers are on the front, but face downwards, so they give an awkward sound.

No discrete graphics card, but at this price, can't complain.

Overall, I am very happy with this laptop and would recommend it to anyone.

I have always been a HP or Compaq kind of guy, but this Toshiba has won me over. Starting to play video games again after a 20 year absence. Now, in amazing 3D!!

Toshiba really hit a homerun with this thing! It out-performs all three of my PC's. I'm very happy with it's ability to do 5 things at once without getting bogged down or clogged up.

It is win 7, much better than win 8.

I needed a laptop for a vacation and I wanted one with a large screen and enough memory to play a few games. I got my needs and my wants filled with this model. Enough memory and HD space to run the necessary programs. Plus, i got it used at an excellent price. Battery life is a bit short but I will mainly be using it with the adapter so that isn't a concern for me.

I say I hate it BECAUSE when I opened this it wasn't wrapped all that well basically was thrown into a box and shipped (disappointing) It was a -40 degree windchill and this had a cardboard box as its only protection. Then when I flip it open ....I get NOTHING! I should of had a some juice in it to power on, but I didn't so Ok so I set it aside for a few hours to let it warm up, not it! Then I checked all the outlets nope they were good and then I went made sure the battery was put in snug and the plugs all worked but I still had nothing!!! OMG at this point I am furious so I took it in to a computer guy and he told me that the place you plug the power cord into on the machine was the issue WTF? So NO I am not happy with this machine and I KNOW NOW I WILL NOT MAKE THIS MISTAKE AGAIN! such a hassel to have to send back and everything for something that is not worth it.

HP EliteBook 8530p Notebook Intel Centrino 2 vPro Core 2 Duo T9600 2.80 GHz - 15.40

HP EliteBook 8530p Notebook Intel Centrino 2 vPro Core 2 Duo T9600 2.80 GHz - 15.40I bought this laptop 2 years ago to use for my Graduate School and as my main home/entertainment/gaming computer. It came with the following specs:

* Intel P8600 2.4GHz Processor,

* 4 GB of Ram,

* 320 GB 7200 rpm Hard Drive,

* ATI Radeon HD 3650 Graphics,

* Widescreen 1280x800 anti-glare display,

* LightScribe DVD+/-RW

The body of the laptop is made of aluminum and hard plastic with a very rigid magnesium alloy inner frame. This thing is built like a tank and looks like it can stop a bullet. It is absolutely unbendable and practically unscratchable. At the same time it is not too heavy a little over 6 lb. It also looks very cool very like a Macbook Pro. There are no reflective or glossy parts anywhere, so it is easy to keep the laptop clean.

I installed Windows 7 Pro x64, MS Office Pro 2010, Firefox 4, Adobe CS5, Becker CPA Review Software, Avast Antivirus, and several other productivity programs. The system is very stable I have never had any problem.

I usually keep a dozen Firefox tabs and Office documents open, Windows Media Player playing music, and also work with Adobe or Becker. No sweat. The application performance is very good thanks to the fast processor and speedy 7k HDD. Adobe Suit of course is a resource hog but still works reasonably fast on this computer.

I also installed Crysis, Left 4 Dead, SC2, Bishock, and several other games. All the games (except Crysis) run smoothly on medium settings at the native screen resolution. Crysis is playable on low settings only. Older games like Warcraft 3 run on the highest settings. The laptop does not get too hot and the fan is quiet.

The battery easily lasts 4 hrs when browsing Internet and working with the Office and/or Becker with Wi-Fi on and the screen on medium brightness. So, I think that performance of ATI Radeon HD 3650 is a good compromise between the power and mobility.

The screen is perfect for office/school work and gaming. It is bright, non-reflective and has good contrast. The resolution of 1280x800 is also very suitable for these tasks. The higher resolution would make text appear too small and would not let newer games to be playable in the native resolution. However, as an avid photographer, I would like to have more resolution to work with my pictures.

There is a high resolution (2mp) Web camera and a very good built-in microphone. So, Skype is pleasure to use. The built-in speakers are good and clear, though I usually use external speakers or headphones.

The illuminated keyboard (there is a very cool built-in light) is very comfortable and quiet one of the best I have ever used. I like the touchpad too it is very responsive with the soft and quiet buttons. There is an amazingly accurate pointstick IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad style with its own dedicated buttons. There are several touch-sensitive media buttons above the keyboard: Info, WiFi Toggle, Presentation Mode, Sound Volume and Mute. Very sleek. The fingerprint reader adds security.

There are lots of connectivity options here:

* Docking port on the bottom extremely convenient, I use it every day to connect the laptop to a docking station.

* A/B/G/N Wireless LAN which works flawlessly with my campus network,

* 10/100/1000 NIC port use it to connect to a DSL modem at home

* Bluetooth 2.0 EDR often use it to connect the computer to my cell phone,

* 56k modem used once when I took the laptop to Ukraine,

* 4x USB 2.0 ports,

* Very fast ESATA port use it for back-ups with my external HDD,

* 1394 Firewire port never used it,

* 1x Headphone out + 1x Microphone in

* HDMI port connect it to my big HDTV

* VGA out used it several times to connect the laptop to a projector during presentations

* SD/MS/Pro-MMC Card Reader use it a lot to transfer pictures from my DSLR

* Express card slot + Smart Card slot never used them

All the ports are located very conveniently with the Power Socket and the VGA on the back, 2 USB and Network on the far left edge, and the rest in the middle of the sides. So, the cables that are most likely to be connected (and the thickest ones) are on the back and do not get in the way. But I use the docking port on the bottom (unique to business laptops) to connect all wires to the dock (and move them all back at the same time) and then connect/disconnect the laptop with a single push on a button. Priceless!

Long story short I am very satisfied.

I bought this laptop used for audio production because the hardware I utilize is expresscard. Also let it be known that I am not some average crackpot home studio enthusiast. I also work directly with one of the named DAW manufacturers. This laptop has it all and isn't even remotely new. This core2duo on win7 running protools 10 / cubase / nuendo gets near the same dsp performance as a quad core i7 macbook. I will run the same sessions side by side and I can keep up no problem with an os x quad core i7. I also plan to run this laptop with a magma chassis HD rig.

as for the seller, they were responsive inquiries and got the laptop here quickly. It was in great condition considering its age.

Swapped out the drive for two 256gb SSDs and a 750gb black drive. Running 128 channels of audio and this laptop used cost less than $240.00. Ridiculously happy.

These laptops have what looks like good hardware with a Core 2 Duo processor, ATI graphics, and 2GB of RAM. That said, I work in a library system that ordered 20 of them for use at the branches about 5-6 years ago and ALL OF THEM are now getting memory errors. It's rare enough for RAM to go bad, but for it to go bad on 20 computers that are all the same model, using the same RAM, can NOT be a coincidence. Clearly HP cheaped out on memory and must have just slapped an HP sticker on generic RAM before shoving it into these laptops.

The following info will be more beneficial to IT professionals like myself.

For those who are curious, I ran memtest on all the machines when staff at various branches were complaining about blue screens and freezing. 18 of the 20 machines failed to even make 2 passes in Memtest.

Aside from that, the BIOS are terrible. I think they were trying to cater to people who wanted BIOS that were mouse compatible, but they really screwed up on this. Boot devices are difficult to manage. Even if you enable every boot device imaginable, when you start the computer, and go to the boot menu, you will only have two options: Internal Hard drive and "upgrade bay" which is what they put for ANY other boot device including CDs, flash drives, etc. If you are booting from an external hard drive or flash drive, you will NOT have the option to select which device to boot from if you have more than one attached. That means, if you are booting from a flash drive, and also have an external hard drive attached, you have to hope that when you choose something other than the internal hard drive, that the computer randomly chooses the correct device.

These laptops have horrible compatibility issues with Ghost 11 and 15 and likely other versions as well. If you believe you will EVER have to use Norton Ghost to backup or reimage your laptop, do NOT buy this model.

I would also recommend people avoid HP/Compaq laptops in general, as they are known to have poor reliability. Do your research and purchase from a more reliable manufacturer.

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 13.3-Inch Convertible Touchscreen Ultrabook (Gray)

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 13.3-Inch Convertible Touchscreen UltrabookI thought I give me first impressions of this new Windows 8 Convertible.

First off the device is very slick, its light weight, looks great. It not the easiest thing to open but once its opened it works well.

As excited as I was to get this, there were several blaring quirks that I wouldn't expect from a $1500 device.

1. The wifi intermittently cuts out. This seems to be a known issue you can read about everyone complaining here. To save you some time reading the thread there are three things I did

a.Update the driver

b.Change the power settings -Set the Wireless Adapter Settings to Maximum Performance (both battery and wired

c.Update the driver properties

1. Bring up the device manager by searching "device manager" from the charms menu under settings.

2. Click on network adapters in the device manager.

3. Right click on "Realtek RTL8723A wireless ..." under network adapters. Click on properties.

4. In the properties box click on the advanced pane.

5. Inside the advanced pane set the following values to these parameters:

selective suspend: disabled (I think this is the only change necessary but I did the other 2 parameter changes as well, you can experiment with different choices)

selective suspend timeout: 60

WiFi config: WiFi

Click OK to save settings

2. There is no keyboard light, which have been on all my Lenovo work computer, so it's hard to see the keyboard in the dark.

3. When you flip the Yoga and try watching a movie, you'll notice the speakers are now pointed away from you! Even still the speakers are louder than the iPad.

Ok about Windows 8

The biggest problem with Windows 8 is that it comes preloaded with Junk! The start bar is full on things I will never use and there is a ton of Trial Wear already installed. I was particularly disappointed that MacAfee (part of the company that gave me this Ultrabook) was continuously popping up messages that were very hard to close with tiny buttons and dropdowns asking me to buy a subscription or register when as far as I can tell it comes with a subscription.

Once you remove all this and get things set up its actually pretty nice, however moving tiles around is hard work (not nearly as easy as a ipad).

There is no Official Facebook App, after some research you can integrate facebook with the People App but when I did this the news feed is different and nearly all the businesses I liked are featured and it is missing a ton of features such as unliking the businesses I don't want to see as full page adds.

Also the App are more expensive. Why is Star Wars Angry Birds $5?

User profiles are very nice and this is something iPads don't have. I am pretty happy with this feature and you can add picture passwords that work okish.

Overall once you get it set up I think it is pretty nice, I don't think the average user wants to spend the time I did to set this up though and I really think it could have been done better.

I got the Yoga 13 in support of my photography it allows me to have a fairly high-end computer in a very lightweight package, fully capable of running Lightroom and Photoshop and being able to process 18-21 megapixel images efficiently. I also like the touch screen and tablet mode for watching movies, viewing slideshows or just surfing. I have two issues though, that have made me sometimes wonder if I should have waited until there were competing models out there. (This was without a doubt, the most capable touchscreen laptop available at the time.)

First, the fan runs continuously, even when the computer is just idling. It can get quite loud when the system is working even modestly hard. This is apparently a well-known issue and there is no fix at the present time.

Second, the trackpad is absolutely awful. I'm in IT myself and have seen many many laptops over the years, and this compares with the worst, trackpad-wise. It alternates rapidly between being hyper-sensitive and not responding at all, it skips, it causes random effects... I've sent emails prematurely, deleted blocks of text, moved things around, etc. After a fair bit of fiddling with the mouse and synaptics settings it's gotten slightly better, but it's still much more effective to use a real mouse with this computer.

One other, relatively small item: the right shift and Enter keys are unusually small, leading to some mistyping.

On the flip side the screen and video are magnificent, the tablet mode works very well, sound is great, and all in a remarkably compact package.

I've had this laptop for about 2 weeks. (Mine has all the same specs save for 8GB RAM I have 4.) I love it! Getting my programs and files transferred from my old laptop was a breeze and took very little time. I had an issue upgrading Windows 8 to the PRO edition with Media Center. Microsoft Tech support was outstanding (I know?) at getting me up and running in 20 minutes.

I have to imagine you've read all the professional reviews, and now you want to know if it lives up to it on the consumer end. I haven't used it much as a tablet yet because I plan to do that more in the summer. Also one of the first things I did was install Start8 to replace the start menu on the desktop. Very good software that is well worth 5 dollars. I move this thing around frequently. Battery life with heavy use is about 4-5 hours. If I am going back and forth to the machine, then it will last much longer. Every works really well out of the box, and it's speedy.

So here is the one thing I think everyone buying this machine needs to know. For me, it's not a deal breaker, but it was disappointing, and annoying. In my opinion, Lenovo needs to redesign the keyboard. I tried and tried to get used to the cramped shift key, backspace, and enter. I'm telling you, I missed them every time. So now, at my workstation, I use a high quality external keyboard and mouse and keep the laptop in tent mode. I LOVE this setup. The keyboard on the machine is above average for on the go stuff. It's outstanding in fact. It's just not something I want to use for long periods of work. So really, I have the best of both worlds. And for the record, I have read reviews that directly contradict mine. However, I think anyone buying this machine needs to know they might have an issue here. The keyboard issue seems to improve if you approach the keyboard off center moving your hands slightly to the left. This is hard to get used to doing. The other thing is, it would be nice for the keyboard to be illuminated.

Compared to my old laptop, this is a revolution. I am extremely happy with my purchase and would not hesitate, despite the keyboard annoyance, to repeat the purchase.

One more item. I tried using a bluetooth mouse with this machine. It performed very poorly. In my research, this seems to be an issue with Yoga and Microsoft Mice. I switched to a mouse with a receiver. perfect.

You will not regret this purchase unless you are planning on writing a novel in a coffee shop on this thing. And even then, maybe you will adapt easier than I did.

My guess is, Lenovo nailed the future of the laptop.

I bought this so I could have one light weight machine that operates like a tablet when I'm just having fun on the computer, and operates like a powerful laptop when I need to do serious work such as software development. This device achieves my goals! I fold it back and use the touch screen when I just reading, browsing the internet, shopping or playing games. If I'm watching internet based movies, I plug my TV into the HDMI port and watch the movie in 1080p on the big screen. When I need to get serious, I fold it differently and start using the keyboard. When I want to work, I switch from metro view to desktop view and it looks pretty much like a Windows 7 environment. ( I did buy StartIsBack for $3.00 so I could have a desktop Wind 7 Start icon, but that's a Windows issue, not device issue)

The touch screen works great. It responds quickly and accurately. It is very bright and crisp when viewing. The keyboard feels pretty good under my fingers and I don't have a problem with typing letters. Finding the arrow, shift or delete key is always a problem for laptops and me. Sometimes I plug in an external monitor for more screen real estate using the HDMI port. The USB 3.0 connection supports an external BluRay or harddrive device. Another USB port provides for thumb drive plug in, or external mouse/keyboard when I'm at my desk and working.

A weird thing about this device is the multi-touch pad. I'm not sure why they have multi-touch pad along with multi-touch screen but it's there. This caused me a few problems with the pad's buttons before I realized that I had other fingers on the pad also! Once I figured out how to manipulate it, I discovered I could do things like zoom in on web pages when using Chrome when in desktop mode.

Things that could improve: The small right-shift key is a problem. I keep missing and hitting the up arrow. It's hard to get into the BIOS until you read up the solution online. The reason this lost a star in my review was the non standard power cord. I wanted to buy a second power supply for home only to find that this device uses a different power connection than the other Ultrabooks resulting in higher cost for a second power supply.

Bottom line: I would buy this again and recommend it to anyone needing serious computer and touch screen.

Geek info: As I said, I development software. That means I install a lot of non standard stuff on this machine including Microsoft Development Environments, SQL server Express, IIS server, Virtual PC, and a bunch other things. So far, this has all worked on this Windows 8 environment. This box comes installed with Windows 8 (Not RT and NOT Windows 8 PRO). Windows 8 has a few missing things, such as the ability to remote desktop into the the Win 8 device.

Want Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 13.3-Inch Convertible Touchscreen Ultrabook (Gray) Discount?

I've been looking for a windows 8 tablet/touchscreen laptop for development work, i needed a i7 or i5 processer with a SSD as the primary boot drive. I purchased the Acer W700 first but returned it, it was very fast and well made but the high screen resolution made it unusable in desktop mode.

I had originally overlooked the Yoga 13 because of the exposed keyboard in tablet mode, but later after reading a review talking about about a second unused hard drive slot in the Yoga 13 (yes a tablet / ultrabook with 2 drive slots !!!) i decided to give it a try.

Lets get the bad out of way first so we can talk about the good in more detail:

My Yoga is going back it has a stuck/bad pixel, But i am going to get another Yoga 13 to replace it.

Windows 8 enough said.

Screen can bounce back at ya if you jab it to hard.

Single band WIFI in 2013?

Single channel RAM holds down performance a bit.

Difficult to to a do a clean install no OS disks or option to buy them.

To many partitions from the factory WTFO?

touch-pad tries to be jack of all trades but ends up being master of none.

The good:

The hardware is superb build quality is a 10. This alone makes up for all of the negatives.

The screen size/resolution is a good trade off for desktop mode.

Display quality and brightness are both excellent (even with a bad pixel).

Actually usable in all of its 'advertised positions' and you will find it will adapt and be usable in almost any environment.

If feels so good in your hands you will find it hard to keep from touching it whenever you walk by.

Very slim and light (for a laptop).

No issues with WIFI as other posters have said.

Room for a SECOND HARD DRIVE (very well kept secret).

Tips:

Make your icons on the desktop 'small' gives the desktop a roomy feel.

Turn off edge swiping on the touch-pad otherwise it will drive you crazy.

Learn and use the keyboard shortcuts in place of some touch functions (like F4 to close an app/window).

In tablet mode hold it 'hinge up' this places your hands on the palm rest area on the keyboard (feels good) not in the keyboard (feels bad).

In laptop mode angle the screen slightly back towards you this prevents some 'bounce back'. This also helps illuminate the keyboard.

While lack of a lighted keyboard is a negative the keys have a very bold white lettering that makes it easy to see by the screen light.

Toshiba Satellite 1135-S155 Laptop (2.0-GHz Celeron, 512 MB RAM, 40 GB Hard Drive, DVD/CD-RW Drive)

Toshiba Satellite 1135-S155 Laptopi have read from others and am experiencing myself, the hard drive clicking about every 2 minutes or so. it is not only annoying, but also indicative of a future failure, and stalls the system when it clicks. so i am going to try and exchange it since i've only had it a week. intel does offer a fix for this problem on many notebooks, i think it only happens on 40GB models, however the fix is not compatible with the chipset of the notebook. have others had this problem?

First, hot spots? I think that the reviewer may have had a bad computer because I have had my 1135-s155 for a while and it has no hot spots on the upper surface.

The main pluses with this 2gb, 512mb, 40gb computer (other than those listed already) are that it comes with 3 (yes, three!) USB 2.0 ports when most low end computers still have 1.1 ports (the speed difference is AMAZING) and that it has 32mb of dedicated Video memory when all other companies are still using shared memory in their low end machines. Truly a great buy for someone that needs a good solid performer. BTW, exactly who in the corporate world uses all the features on those $3500+ machines? Really?!?

This is part of a larger class of laptops running processors slower than 2.4 GHZ that are becoming the targets of deep discounts and rebates now that faster machines are on the move to market. ... This machine painlessly recognized both my home wired and wireless router connections, and I was online in 15 minutes after opening the box. For the price, you can't do better in terms of HDD size (40 GB!) and memory (512MB!!). Three issues: 1. The bundled CD-RW software is goofy and non-inutuitive. Although I was able to use it, I pitched it after two days of trying to figure out it's wacky interface and installed Nero. 2. This is neither ultra-thin or lightweight (6.2 lbs). Since most of my mobile needs take place in car, this is not an issue for me; your mileage my vary if you are hauling your hardware through airports. 3. The heat thing other reviewers talked about: yes, you can feel the warmth on the right side of the touch pad. Frankly, I haven't found a single laptop mouse-equivalent that I like as much as an actual mouse (unless I'm completely veggged on the couch or on a plane, I don't use the touchpad much anyway). I would not consider the heat an issue: most laptops have a hotspot someplace. 4. Battery life is middle-of-the-road...but offers excellent power management tools to give you advance notice of battery loss.

Great performance at this price point...more so if additional rebates are available.

I've used laptops for many years, but this my first personal purchase of one. Toshiba laptops enjoy a good reputation; based on my initial experience with this one, they should. Bottom line: I'd recommend this to my mom if she were in the market for one:-)

.... After looking at HP, Sony, dell and Compaq. I went out to buy 2435-s255 model but end up buying this because the price difference ...between these two models. The S255 has 2.4 pentium. But if u are not playing high end games and video editing, this is excellent buy, or as they say "Best bang for you Buck".

Toshiba has been making Notebooks for a long time and they make quality. I think Sony is too expensive, HP is OK, and so is the dell. The compaq makes quality notebooks too but Toshiba had better value for the money (my last notebook was a Compaq).

I am using to edit occasional digital videos and mainly internet. Toshiba notebook is my desktop replacement. I think if you compare the specs of this notebook with quality desktop machines, there is not a lot of price difference except the processor. But u also don't have to deal with a lot of wires.

And about the Hot Spot? The computer makers try to slam so many things in one notebook and they do pretty good job of it; these are small things. Yes it is slightly warm then the rest of the keyboard are, but no big deal.

Overall excellent notebook.

I just bought this and speed and all the features are cool, but the 15 inch screen seems a little dim and blueish compared to my Samsung Synchmaster 151S that I have sitting on my desktop. I looked at the 107 from Toshiba with 14 inch and the screen was much brighter. I'll keep it anyway...it's a good deal otherwise.

Dell D610 Pentium M 2.0GHz 1GB 60GB CDRW/DVD 14.1' XPHHad to part with my old gateway laptop of 10-12 years as AOL spoiled the speed with its invasive intrusions through my internet connection. While I miss the slot for my camera scan disc and can't find my cable, the features of the Dell laptop Latitude D610 are just fine for me. Not too many "modern conveniences" like blueray, webcam, etc. but I don't need any of that. I like the screen size, the keyboard is lovely and the size is perfect. I did find the touch pad a bit rougher than my gateway (real smooth) and so similar to the surrounding surface, that I sometimes am sliding around everywhere except on the touch pad. Don't care for the ball item on the keyboard between "G" and H" similar to IBM think pad which I never liked and don't use. I find it too hard to manipulate as I did with the think pad. But I love the touch of the keyboard and the sellers, Compusales3000, do a fine job of shipping and surprised me with 20 additional gigabites on the harddrive! I like that they check and refurbish all their items at their warehouse before sending them out, and even add little personal notes! I would definitely say they are customer friendly!

Lenovo ThinkPad SL510 Notebook (28479UU)

Lenovo ThinkPad SL510 NotebookI recently acquired a slightly upgraded version of this laptop and I have to say, I am highly impressed with the Lenovo quality. And I'm an IT guy.

For those that don't know, Lenovo (a Chinese company) purchased the PC business from IBM, including the product names (one with business clout is the ThinkPad line).

When it comes to building a robust machine that's capable of taking the kind of beating a business professional doles out on a machine, the ThinkPad line always stood for high quality and high expectations. Thankfully those expectations continue to be met by Lenovo in the ThinkPad line.

Pros mostly unique to Lenovo's systems:

Powered USB port; you can plug in any device that can be charged via USB into the computer (the yellow USB port) and it will charge even if the laptop is powered off. You won't need to pack every wall wart with you when you travel anymore!

Textured touch pad; when you're working in darker locations, this helps you easily locate the touchpad

Fn and Ctrl keys can be swapped via the BIOS; Lenovo has positioned the Fn key used to switch to external displays, change screen brightness and so on, where you'd normally find the CTRL key on the left part of the keyboard so you can swap the function of the two keys in the BIOS

Robust recovery options

Useful bundled software; password vault used to store passwords in an encrypted file, connection manager makes connecting to wired and wireless networks easier, excellent power control (let's you see a ton of info that straight Windows 7 doesn't show, such as how much power the machine is currently using)

LED light on screen to illuminate the keyboard (though there is a con; see below)

ThinkVantage button; press the button during boot up and it takes you to system restore which can restore files, just the OS or completely reset the system to it's factory installed configuration (which nukes local files, so backup before running that option if you have files you don't want to lose!). You can also access driver updates for your machine directly from Lenovo with this button as well (yeah, like I said, I'm an IT guy!)

Bundled software. Being an IT guy I HATE most company's bundled software. Not so with Lenovo, as everything on this machine, with few exceptions, is worth keeping and using.

USA based support. Purchase a Dell, speak to someone in India. Purchase a Lenovo ThinkPad, speak to someone in Atlanta, Georgia. And no, I'm not dismissing the capability of India based support, but we all know it is sometimes difficult to understand Indian speakers.

Cons:

The textured touchpad, when used for extended periods, may make your finger uncomfortable

The LED light for keyboard illumination works, but not nearly was well as the backlit Dell keyboards

As configured this system is Windows 7 32 bit; I recommend 64 bit only these days especially if you ever want to upgrade past 4 GB of RAM (something else I'd recommend). If you want Win7 64 bit, you can purchase the 64 bit restore CDs from Lenovo's customer service (WHICH IS USA BASED!) for ~$50.

2 GB RAM is adequate but should be 4 GB at least for a Win 7 machine to really shine

Case design. One thing that never seems to change from ThinkPad model to ThinkPad model is the design of the laptop itself; a ThinkPad LOOKS like a ThinkPad, even if it was built 5 years ago. This is good or bad, depending on what you're looking for.

Working where I do, I have the luxury of directly comparing this Lenovo laptop w/ the Dell E-series. When comparing the 2 side by side, it's amazing how much better built the ThinkPad is. Sound quality from the speakers on the ThinkPad is so much nicer than the Dell E6410. The screen is brighter and cleared. The E6410, if dropped on a corner of the laptop, would be shattered and destroyed. The ThinkPad? Maybe pop the bezel back in place and you're back up and running.

And let's talk about heat dissipation. If you plan on using your laptop as a LAPtop, don't even consider the Dell E-series. It is scorcher. You will sweat with it on your lap. And don't even think about leaving it running on a table with varnish. It WILL melt the varnish if left to sit long enough. Always put it on a place mat or something else. Then you have this ThinkPad. I've left it running diagnostics over night, on a table and guess what? It was STILL cool to the touch. There is a very slight warmth but not something you'll notice in general use.

Overall I feel Lenovo builds a vastly superior product for business users than the other 2 of the big three (Dell, HP and Lenovo). Neither of the other manufacturer's laptops have the feel of a high build quality and design. They are OK, but if you're looking for the perfect business laptop to travel around with you, and not just pretty eye candy to show off your prestige, buy the ThinkPad, even at a slightly higher price point than Dell or HP. You will appreciate it in the long run, as this is a machine that will last for a couple years longer than your warranty runs, unlike the Dell and HPs of the same class. And a Dell you'll be lucky to have last more than 3 years.

Even using my company's Dell employee purchase plan and the higher discount it affords, I chose a Lenovo and will do so for as long as Lenovo continues to build one of the best designed, robust and well thought out laptops for business users.

Highly recommended (the ThinkPad line, not necessarily this build). For this particular laptop, call Lenovo and spend $50 on the Windows 7 64 bit restore discs.

Pro

I like this laptop , does not have warm problem. this is the best part.

The battery life is excellent, very resistant, excellent display.

Cons

But, i dont like the keyboard, the Fn key and Ctrl key are inverted.

And look like than the drivers for trackpad has some bug.

I have had this laptop for 3 years now. In the meantime, I maxed the RAM to 8GB and Hardrive to 1 TB. It is very powerful and sturdy laptop. THe design allows it to be roughed and it keep on powering through. I run a lot of large spreadsheets and have not been disappointed. I also do music and video editing on the side. It is slower than anything with an i3 processor but it is very logically setup and designed. I use the red trackpad on the road and a wireless mouse on the desk. Battery life has gone down to an hour now, but I would only trade this for another Lenovo Thinkpad. It may not have all the fancy features, but it is a workhorse.

I ordered a SL510 -received it damaged. Returned and got another. This one would not connect to wi-fi. Called many times with no help. Returned for repair THREE times and still did not work for more than a couple days at a time. Got my son to do a temp. fix but the unit still keeps dropping the Wi-Fi connection and shuts down on me at any time it feels like. (Lenovo said it did all it could and I now had the unit beyond warranty.)

I had an IBM Thinkpad that was great, but the Lenovo is a piece of garbage. I'll never buy a Lenovo product again!

Lenovo ships from China and while you wait and wait for delivery the price will drop. Lenovo's price match offers to pay you the difference if you submit an identical Lenovo quote within a certain number of days. Lots of luck making the quote and your order identical. ANY discrepancy will result in denial of the entire refund and you will not be told that there is a discrepancy in time for you to resubmit. This will happen even if you were told by a Lenovo agent on submission that you should receive a refund of the difference in price! This behavior will be cited as Lenovo Policy. The PC itself is not worth the bother of dealing with Lenovo and its policy.
