Lenovo G570 43347PU 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black)

Lenovo G570 43347PU 15.6-Inch LaptopI was shopping around for a decent laptop at an affordable price. This is one of the upper models from the G570 series from Lenovo and I could not be happier with it. I did not buy my Laptop from Amazon, I bought it from Fry's for A LOT cheaper when they had it on sale, but the performance is great. It has the new iCore 3 processor with plenty of RAM at 4GB. The keyboard is as close to a full size one that you will see on a laptop, so if you will be doing a lot of data input then you will definitely love it. The looks and style is very simple looking, but the design is great. I have talked to several computer experts and they all feel that Lenovo is the best brand out right now along with ASUS. Also if you didnt know, Lenovo is made by IBM who used to only make business computers, but they are now making personal laptops.

I have only owned this item a few days, but so far I am happy with my purchase especially as I found it at an extremely low price. The matt charcoal, lightly grooved surface of the top lid and keyboard surround is 100% fingerprint-resistant, the touchpad is very slightly pebbled to increase tactility. Very subdued, stealthy and practical style much appreciated compared to its glossy competitors.

The external switch to turn wireless off is a nice touch and I'm pleased with boot times and internet performance. Out of the 4 USB 2.0 ports, one is a combo eSATA/USB. The i3-2330M is only a dual-core running at 2.2GHZ, but it does have hyperthreading and shows up as 4 virtual processors in the Device Manager however, it lacks Turbo Boost. By comparison an i5 has 4 cores, Turbo Boost, but no hyperthreading. I'm currently testing various games to see what this level of hardware is capable of playing so far Left 4 Dead 2 is the only one I've tried, and it was acceptable.

With computer manufacturers releasing & discontinuing so many minute variations of their products, it was extremely hard to find an accurate specification list (as well as the correct images) of this item and I would mention that even after realizing there was no HDMI-out it was not enough for me to return it. It was simply too good of a price and a very limited time window for me to make my decision.

solid purchase. I would have liked the speakers to be a little louder but find it just as easy to put on a headset and stream music. Fast and the battery life is solid. also the plug in receptacle is way more solid than my last hp product. 5 years later and two adapters it quit on me.

I love the keyboard and had my doubts that it would be as nice as my last hp, but the display is crisp and the unit seems to be just what I needed.

I would rate it at 4 stars. I hate the google chrome browser, so I downloaded mozilla and off we go. Not bad for the $399 price.

I purchased this laptop in November of 2011 and in June of 2012, the LED display went out. I returned the laptop to Lenovo since it was under warranty. Lenovo informed me that the LED display is not part of the warranty and it would cost $300 to repair. I am guessing that anything they do not want to repair is not "under warranty". I bought an LED replacement myself and was able to fix the PC for under $50. This laptop was a rip-off and of poor quality. Service and warranty is no better.

Dell Latitude ATG D630 (All Terrain Grade) 14.1 Screen, Core 2 Duo, 2.2GHz, 2GB RAM, 80GB hard driv

Dell Latitude ATG D630 14.1 Screen, Core 2 Duo, 2.2GHz, 2GB RAM, 80GB hard drive, DVD'CDRWI needed a computer to use as a navigation device for open cockpit boats. The Dell ATG D630 fits the bill perfectly!

The display is Very Bright. In full sun, I can still read a NOAA chart. In fact, when I put the display directly into the sunlight, it seemed to reflect a bit like a good outdoor GPS (transflective)does.

It's also water and dust resistant and armored. The ports have plugs to keep water and dirt/sand out. Really an excellent choice for outdoor work!

This must be Dell's answer to the Toughbook. Like a Toughbook, it's pretty heavy. However, it's a much better value, second hand than a Toughbook. It's several generations newer, has a bigger screen, larger hard drive, faster processor and more memory than a Toughbook 73 I looked at, which would have cost me over $100 more.

I'm using the ATG D630 with a free program called OpenCPN and free NOAA charts and a USB GPS "Mouse" for a poor man's plotter that outperforms units costing thousands of $$$$.

HP Pavilion dv7-6178us Laptop Computer With 17.3" LED-Backlit Screen & 2nd Gen Intel® Core i7-2630

HP Pavilion dv7-6178us Laptop Computer With 17.3' LED-Backlit Screen & 2nd Gen Intel® Core i7-2630QM Processor With Turbo Boost 2.0This laptop is very fast has 8 hypertreads cores, stylish looking, tough built, has 2 usb 3.0 and 2 usb 2.0,battery is above average compare to toshiba, nice silver aluminum finish not a fingerprint magnet, crystal clear webcam, runs cool, picks up strong wifi signal, has two hard drives compartment so you can install two hard drive up to 2 terrabite of space, clear screen brilliant colors, has switchable graphics cards,my only complaint is the removable hard drive plastic cover is made cheaply that if you removed it ,its impossible to put it back with out damaging the pigs that holds it in place so it will be lose or wont even stay in its a worthless design flow, also the power cord adopter is huge twice the size of any standard size laptop adopter, other than this two issues this unit is very powerful performer....

I've had mine (got a great deal on it from Office Depot, plus there is a mfg. rebate) a few weeks. I like the backward compatible USB3 ports (it has USB2 ports also -all I know is there are 4 USB ports). I like that the electrical connection is on the right side (my last HP laptop had it on the left side). It has a fingerprint reader but not sure that is a deal breaker...now that I've tried it, no; I could get by without that.

Only thing I'm not crazy about is that the screen isn't non-glare like my other HP laptop. Doesn't matter all that much...but I do have to move it around to beat the light. (It wasn't a deal breaker, either...so I went with it.) It was super easy to setup. The sound is very good. For the price I paid, I am thrilled. I don't think many more frills on it would really matter all that much. We don't rent Blu Ray movies (so the DVD/CD player is fine as-is). It has the connector needed for TV connection and it has WiFi. I don't see a card reader slot...but wouldn't know what to do with one anything. :) IF you can pick this up at $700 to $800, I believe you will be delighted with this baby. (You may see it listed as dv7-6b78us, but is same one (apparently).

Toshiba Satellite L505-S5990 Laptop Notebook - Intel® CoreTM 2 Duo T6500 2.1GHz ? 16.0" widescreen

Toshiba Satellite L505-S5990 Laptop Notebook - Intel® CoreTM 2 Duo T6500 2.1GHz ? 16.0' widescreen ? 3GB DDR2 ? 320GB HD ? DVD±RW/CD-RW ? 802.11b/g/n ? Built-in Webcam and microphone ? Windows 7 Home PremiumFound this at BB for a pretty good price. I was a bit worried about the weight and size, but overall it is very nice.

Pros:

Large, full keyboard with big keys.

beautiful 16 inch HD screen, very impressive.

Excellent processor, Hard Drive, graphics card, and webcam.

Nice touchpad (besides the buttons).

Cons:

Touchpad buttons suck, very large and clunky.

This sucker is heavy!

Finish picks up a lot of finger prints, smudges.

Status lights are tiny with bad labels.

Volume wheel looks like it could be broke off easily.

Initially I purchased a dell laptop at Walmart, being in a rush. After less than 30 days the dell videocard/motherboard/lcd and many other things malfunctioned and needed to be repaired. Walmart after much hesitation refunded me every penny and I left and went to look into another laptop/brand. I read high raves about Toshiba and Asus laptops so I kinda had my heart set on a Toshiba. I went to Best Buy where they weren't very helpful, no one said a word to me even walking around with cash in hand and intent on buying something. I liked having the controls on the top of the keyboard for playing, pausing, FF/RW, as well as Volume/Mute Controls. The volume wheel does feel like it might break easily if messed with a lot or bumped so I plan on being delicate with it.

The volume level leaves MUCH to be desired, its rather quiet for my taste. Mine came loaded with Windows 7, we will see how that goes.

The keyboard takes some getting used to as it feels cramped when you are used to a full dedicated keyboard without 10key. So far the display is crysal clear, videos and switching between tasks has been seamless.

Webcam only works if you have a ton of lighting around which is slightly disappointing.

For the price, its not bad.

Warranty and service so far seems adequate.

I was able to purchase this computer at Best Buy for $500, slightly less than Amazon. The computer is light, has a nice size screen and the keyboard is sleek and easier than most to type on. Also, there is a little roller at the front of the computer that allows you to manipulate the volume with your finger. Most laptops do not have the ability to do this which was a main selling feature for me. The only problem is that the speakers are weak so if you use a lot of sound, but separate speakers. The battery does last a decent amount of time.

I have to say I am pretty annoyed with this computer right now because both IE and Mozilla constantly crash on me. They browser freezes up at least 5-7 times a day and requires me to close out. But when I go back to IE, it does take me back to all the pages I was on when it crashed. Also, my home Internet signal works fine yet the computer loses the signal and stalls out a few times a day. And after it finds the connection again this piece of crap takes forever to get to the Internet.

Overall it is a good computer but knowing what I know I am absolutely would NOT buy this computer. I would pay a little extra for a faster, stronger computer. I may send it in to be fixed under the limited warranty but the problems I have seem to be ones that would be hard to identify and fix.

Pros:

-Buttons aren't too big or too small

-Nice, big 16" 720p screen

-Easy access

-Built-in Wireless adapter

-Realtek HD Audio is good for headphone or additional speaker use

-Excellent for watching videos

-Plenty of RAM and HDD space

-SD card slot

Cons:

-Volume adjuster is a bit too retro

-Speakers doesn't have a very good quality, compared to other Toshiba laptops

-Not made for heavy video gaming(setting graphics to max)

-Only 2 USB ports

Good working laptop, for media use; not able to keep up on the latest video games, if you set the graphics too high; recommend low graphic settings.

Not a lot of bass on the speakers; I recommend using additional speakers or headphones, if you want a good experience when listening to music or watching videos.

I won't say anything about the touchpad, since I rarely use touchpads. However, setting up the touchpad can be fun. I'll never guess there being a option that adds inertia to the cursor, when using the touchpad, and bounces off the edges of the screen, if I didn't see it on there.

HP Envy 4-1043CL Core i5-3317U Dual-Core 1.7GHz 6GB 32GB SSD + 500GB 14" Ultrabook Windows 7 Home P

HP Envy 4-1043CL Core i5-3317U Dual-Core 1.7GHz 6GB 32GB SSD + 500GB 14' Ultrabook Windows 7 Home Premium w/HD Webcam & BluetoothMy Dell M1330 of five years, and 3 hard drives later finally gave up the ghost. It was, in general, a solid performer. I recently acquired the HP Envy 4-1043CL. For the money, it is nothing short of spectacular. Rich with features like the lightning fast i5 processor, 500GB hard drive, 32GB SSD, all make this a pretty seamless package.

As for reviewers complaining about the monitor, it reminds me of the guys that review cars that do not understand why a car goes up on two wheels in a 130mph turn Get over it for 99% of the users, this screen is an upgrade over almost anything you might be replacing, and by the way, it too is spectacular. I considered a MacBook Air, with a great screen, great cosmetics, all of the Apple quirks, but at almost a third of the price, it is really hard to not like the package HP has put together Oh, and did I mention that it is light? (3.88 lbs.)

Windows 8 is a bit of a learning curve, but getting used to it is easy.

I really wanted to like this machine.

But the screen was a dealbreaker for me. I had read that the screen was mediocre, and figured that that was fine with me -a high end screen wasn't that important to me. But "mediocre" doesn't really begin to describe the problem with the screen. It's washed out to the point of distraction and eye strain. Colors look odd, blacks aren't black, and whites are covered in a bluish haze. I tried color calibration and even a combination of settings found in these comments -but they don't really solve the problem. This is, as some reviewers point out, a viewing angle problem; the screen rises to the level of mediocre -barely passable -when you look at it from just the right, very narrow angle. But that angle is so narrow that it's impossible to maintain, because the slightest movement will put you out of it. So again, while I wouldn't put a high end screen high up on my list of priorities, this screen I find to be so bad that I can't ignore it.

Then there's the trackpad. It's not very responsive. Scrolling is terrible. This is something you can might learn to tolerate. If it weren't for the screen, I'd probably have thought seriously about just living with it.

Because otherwise, it's a very fast and very nice looking computer. It's a little heavy, but that's a worthwhile trade off for the price (you can find these refurbished with 6gb of ram for $599). But before you buy one, I recommend walking into a computer store and testing one and thinking long and hard about whether you can live with the display and trackpad. These are items that the average reviews make sound like minor irritations and drawbacks. And that may be true for some. But for many others, they'll make the machine unusable.

Mousepad will sometimes freeze, requiring a reboot. Annoying. But the size and weight is nice and it is sufficient for bumming around the interwebs and small work tasks.

Pro: fast boot-up, thanks to the 32gig SSD that runs the OS; 7200rpm HHD; back-lit keyboard; it's light and thin; and has several 3.0usb ports and a 2.0 always-on port for charging stuff when the PC is powered down.

Con: the screen just isn't that impressive--dull comes to mind. It's fine for day-to-day work but not so great for play.

Toshiba Satellite L505D-ES5025 TruBrite 15.6-Inch Laptop (Grey/Black)

Toshiba Satellite L505D-ES5025 TruBrite 15.6-Inch LaptopWhere do I start, I have been researching laptops for the last 6 months, looking at specs etc. I needed to replace my laptop that has become outdated. I bought a Dell 5 years ago that was just too slow to watch videos, download anything or keep up with all of the new software upgrades. I wanted a laptop with speed, good memory, decent video graphics, large enough hard drive so that I wouldn't be changing it soon. Plus I wanted an expandable computer in terms of memory so that I wouldn't be limited at a really good price.

It is a 15.6 inch, 2.3G processing speed and 4G memory, with 320 Hard drive it is fast, you can view most of the HD videos clearly they finally load for me on You Tube..lol I need one also for work at home, since I use it for a lot of number entries. This is one of the best if not the best keyboards w/10 key numeric pad. I have large fingers and it is comfortable and easy to use it is set up just like an adding machine for accountants, or bookkeepers. There is just enough texture and grip of the keys for fast and easy typing. Another thing I loved about it was the gray interior it shows less visible fingerprints and dust for those who don't like the glossy black of most Toshiba's out there.

It was easy to set up I was so worried about how long it would take. I had already had a wireless network so all I did was boot up created a password and sign on, the connected to my wireless network and I was on the net. Yes to some it might have too much bloatware(unnecessary programs) but for those who are not as computer savvy it includes all the files to get you up and running but you need to update them from time to time. The camera is so easy to use and Skype is already set up.

When I bought it was a much better deal it is bright and easy to use for night viewing, especially if you watch movies or download movies online. I have just had it for a month but as long as you have a good registry cleaner program to clean up Windows 7 it should continue to run fast. One downer is I wish Toshiba would come with the Operating System disks included it is irritating to have to copy them on your own.

Overall you cannot get most of the specs like a large comfortable full size keyboard, with a 15.6 inch TruBrite screen, webcam 1.3 pixel, 320G Hard drive, ATI graphics, labelfish for your CD/DVD, 2.3G AMD processor with 4G memory for this price you cannot compare. Plus it is lightweight easy to move from room to room. So far very happy with my purchase.

If you read the 4 and 5 star reviews you'll get a sense of what works on this computer.

But they may not mention that two things are in fact annoying.

1. The sound quality on the speakers is awful. If you want to hear music or watch a movie, you'll have to have speakers.

2. The battery life is way short. Usually about an hour and thirty minutes. Keep your plug handy.

I had been looking for a new laptop for quite some time when I came across the reviews on Amazon about this model. I had been advised by a computer-whiz son of mine to look for a Toshiba this time around, since in his opinion (he's a computer engineer) they are well-made and predominantly trouble-free. So when I found this computer, and read the reviews on its performance, I was sold. Now that I've used it for a couple of weeks, I have to agree. It's a sweet computer for the price. The keyboard is great, and since I do a lot of typing, I like how it feels. The Web-cam feature works great. And I love Windows 7 so far. The battery lasts about 2-3 hours, which is typical for a laptop. The screen resolution is great. Toshiba Satellite L505-ES5015 TruBrite 15.6-Inch Laptop (Silver/Black)

First and foremost I love this laptop! It is great for the things I do every day. I use it to complete assignments and to surf the internet. I have found that though this laptop has HD sound (yes it's awesome) the system speakers do it no justice, they are low and not great quality. I plugged in my earbuds and was blown away!!! I haven't tried it with external speakers yet but I will soon. My second issue is the two USB ports. To remedy that I brought a usb hub. Overall I am loving my Toshiba Satellite L505-E5025. If you are looking for a great inexpensive system, I highly recommend this one. I have the AMD processor and it's working great for me. Consider buying antivirus software and MS office when buying this product because it only comes with trial version of Norton and MS Office 07.

Want Toshiba Satellite L505D-ES5025 TruBrite 15.6-Inch Laptop (Grey/Black) Discount?

The L505 was a good choice for me. In the middle of a large dissertation, I had to dump my old beloved 2004 Gateway to keep up with Microsoft's constant system upgrade demands. The Toshiba is a bit heavy for a laptop but it has a solid feel for my mostly desktop use. Mousepad functionality is spotty but I rely mainly on a mouse. It is fast and (thus far) my McAfee installs happen quickly and quietly in the background without my even noticing. My only complaint is the squat dimensions of screen. The 15.6" "Tru-bright" screen is nice and bright, but the screen ratio makes it wide and short. If you are a document writer (vice an Excel jockey or primarily an internet surfer) you are giving up a lot of good screen space for documents. The wide dimensions make for other annoyances ... the power plug and USB port (only 2) with a thumb drive inserted on the right side require that you keep your mouse-arm splayed wide-right. Why not put these ports in the back? Otherwise, for my $540, this is a great machine. I looked at Dells in the same price range and they seem cheap and plasticky in comparison. Unfortunately, we are getting to the age of disposable laptops, in which it is easier to buy a new one than to upgrade. Perhaps cheap and plasticky, low and squaty, are the wave of future.

Asus Matte Deep Blue Square 14" X401U-EBL4 Laptop PC with AMD E1 1200 Processor, 4GB, 320GB HD, Web

Asus Matte Deep Blue Square 14' X401U-EBL4 Laptop PC with AMD E1 1200 Processor, 4GB, 320GB HD, Webcam and Windows 7 Home PremiumI bought this laptop for work and after several months of owning it here are my impressions of it.

In terms of external features, this laptop seems to offer a good bit, sporting an HDMI and VGA port, USB 3.0 port, multitouch track pad and a Webcam. Overall, the features are very good for the price you pay for it.

Internal's on this laptop are on par with other budget laptops. Intel Pentium processor, 2-4GB of RAM and Intel integrated graphics wont hold up running AutoCAD or Photoshop very well but handle essential business apps like Outlook, Word and internet browsing just fine. Some apps like VLC can take up to 20 seconds to load but after loading, they run without issue.

Overall construction isn't the best ive ever seen but its certainly not the worst. Laptop manufacturers these days have moved away from making laptops out of tough matte casing that lasts for years to shiny casing that looks good in-store but holds up poorly in day-to-day use. The casing on this laptop skips the gloss but still attracts some fingerprints and the screen is also glossy though a screen protector should fix that. Overall I've found the casing to be better than other budget laptops but still nothing compared to the casing found on proper business laptops (think Dell Precision and HP EliteBook). However you get what you pay for and for the money its not that bad.

The laptop ships with Windows 7 Home Premium and there isn't too much to be said here in terms of features. The laptop is slowed somewhat by bloatware and the 64bit flavor of Windows 7. However if you're willing to get your hands dirty, re-installing Windows in the 32bit flavor and leaving out the bloatware should speed things up considerably.

Overall you get what you pay for. For the money this laptop is one of the best deals on the market and with a few tweaks on the software side, this laptop will be a perfect companion for basic computing tasks.

I love this lap top. I wanted Windows 7 & this is it. Others said the mouse is too touchy, but there are adjustments built in for the preferred touch. The speakers underneath does hinder the sound. I'm going to purchase an extra speaker, tho.

OKAY now to what I want to say

.....I've been starting to get a few problems with this laptop to the point that I wanted to sell it back, But I found out that the OS *operating system* has been modified for some unknown reason and this causes bugs from the keyboard, to the touchpad..AND I found a way to fix it, which is a simple solution. ALSO this makes your Laptop MUCH FASTER...

If you're planning to get this laptop I recommend to buy a 4 gb usb drive and download Windows 7 usb/dvd download tool and burn a Windows 7 Home premium 32/64 bit, ((depending on your Laptop)) ISO file to the Usb drive with the program.

After burning the ISO file to the USB, disconnect it and connect it again.. Start up the Windows Installer and install the new fresh copy and follow instruction

This removes EVERYTHING from your current OS from files to programs BUT DO NOT FEAR..

After installing the OS FORMAT the USB drive and Use another computer or the library to download necessary files from the Asus support website...

and download Atheros Wireless Lan Driver and Application ... and also Foxconn Wireless Lan Driver and Application.. COPY it to the USB drive and put it on your Laptop....

Install these to put Wifi back on your laptop...after you put Wifi back , Use the laptop to download more files, like the bluetooth one or the mouse / touchpad settings one..

Download every file that looks necessary and install them on your Laptop... ALSO do a Windows Update.. BUT you can't do an Update unless you verify that you have a legit copy of windows By going to Start Control Panel System and Security System Scroll down to where it says Windows activation and Activate Now! , use the key on the sticker on the back of your Laptop

Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7100 17.3" Notebook PC - Black

Toshiba Satellite L675D-S7100 17.3' Notebook PC - Blackthis is my third Toshiba Laptop thew old ones are still going but want a faster new pc these thing are work horses they just go on for ever love it

After owning several problem-free Compaq and Dell laptops over the past 15 years, I made the mistake of buying my first Toshiba, a Satellite L675D. I admit that I was enthralled by the 17" display. Big mistake. HUGE MISTAKE. Less than four months after purchase, my wife opened the laptop one evening and the screen showed a crack in the upper right corner. I sent the laptop to the Toshiba repair depot and they claim she accidently damaged it and they want $325 to repair it. BTW, the entire system only cost $530 brand new. According to Toshiba Customer Relations (and I quote) the "accident was caused by opening the case too hard". I asked how that was even possible. Seriously, how do you open a laptop too hard? Toshiba said (and I quote), "you could have pulled too hard". If anyone from Toshiba is reading this, refer to T1-1174583 case # 110 331 001 320. I swear these are exact quotes. I currently own several Toshiba products, but after this experience I will never purchase another Toshiba product of any type in my lifetime. And now whenever I see someone even looking at a Toshiba laptop in Best Buy, HHGreg, WalMart, etc, I will warn them not to even consider Toshiba. Stick with manufacturers who stand behind their products. Toshiba is not one of them.

Apple MacBook Air Core i7 1.8GHz 11"-4GB RAM-128GB SSD-Lion-(2011)

Apple MacBook Air Core i7 1.8GHz 11'-4GB RAM-128GB SSD-Lion-(2011)Small

Fits in a small neoprene carry case made for the iPad I picked up and that fits into my mini-backpack/carry case, goes through the security X-ray at the airport with only a slight tug and a flip into the plastic bin.

Lightweight:

I needed to lighten the load this thing is about the same weight as my iPad 2.

Fast:

The ability to work in graphics programs like Illustrator and photoshop is a must, this thing has no problems with either program and with a small scratch drive it runs photoshop like a champ. Both photoshop and Illustrator pop open in less than six seconds and all the controls move at speeds better than my aging Mac Pro.

Excellent screen and expandable:

While quite small the screen is excellent and the colors are great, I also like the ability to connect HDMI to a big screen and uses photoshop in its greater glory in the hotel using the LED TV screens common.

What did I ever do with my MacBook pro at twice the weight... (I handed that down to the wife and she is quite happy).

I wish the battery life was longer but at that size it is what it is (about 4.5 hours now) on the next long trip I may get a small external battery.

I was worried that I would miss a CD/DVD drive but I have only had the chance to use an external for installing the new CS6 and other goodies.

Thunderbolt is fast it works great as a replacement to my older FW800 stuff.

All in all a great addition to the traveling team.

Do not buy from Techno Intelligence. Their listed price is a scam.

The laptops are good, I own one myself. But they are not worth as much as what they are asking.

ASUS U46SM-DS51 14.1-Inch Laptop (Silver)

ASUS U46SM-DS51 14.1-Inch LaptopI bought this great looking, good specifications computer this past March. Since then the screen has split from its housing and ASUS customer service refused to fix it under warranty. The problem is that the screen is too skinny to support the force required to open and close the lid. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. This is clearly bad manufacturing and a company who does not stand behind their 2 year warranty and 1 year accidental damage policy. A defect should always be covered under the first year with no question about having to pay for a repair. I really like the machine but the screen not opening and closing properly is probably the worst defect you could possibly have. Thanks for nothing ASUS.

I bought this product five months ago in May from this seller, and it worked beautiful from then until yesterday when my hard drive decided to go right after a Windows update. It was working perfectly fine that morning before the update, but after, it froze and wouldn't perform basic tasks. I've already contacted Asus about it and I'm trying to back up my files (to no avail, since the system is slow as molasses), but I feel like with such a new computer, I shouldn't be having such a problem. My friend bought the same exact computer, several months before me, and it's still working fine for her. I don't understand what the issue is. Did I just get a bad computer?

Sony VAIO VPC-EH11FX/B Laptop (Black)

Sony VAIO VPC-EH11FX/B LaptopI just got this laptop, so it is a little early to notice anything unusual, but first let me say, I really wanted a white laptop with a lot of RAM. When I opened the box, to my surprise, it was not only white, but slightly pearly with a really cool texture, (can not tell in photo) which I love even more! This is my first upgrade to windows 7, really hate leaving xp behind, but I guess I had to start saying goodbye.

So far this laptop is really snappy and I have already installed, adobe photo shop, printers, itunes, all music (4000+ songs) a ton of hi res photos and artwork (I am a graphic designer) all my documents from other computers, avast anti virus and I still have 418GB free space out of the 455GB, not bad! oh, and I love the keyboard, it has really nice sized keys and large letters/number easy to see. There are 4 usb outlets, I just ordered a logitech wireless bluetooth enable mouse, I hope that installs easy. Another great thing is the weight, I believe it is just about 4 lbs. My old acer laptop (which I hated) was the same size footprint, but weighed 7 lbs...That's about all I can say this early in the game, but seriously, I am so impressed with the looks, that if it runs well over the next few months, I may buy a second one for my office and ditch the desk top computer.

this is a wonderful computer, the color is what bought me, I love anything pink. its super fast, lightweight and very functional. my only dislike is the cursor pad and mouse clickers are a little stiff and hard to use but otherwise all around great computer and buy.

It has been a great laptop so far after three years of heavy working. I really like the keyboard and the computer style. I think it is missing a USB 3 port and I think SONY did a great job on this laptop.

I needed a laptop quickly because the school semester was starting. I cant believe how slick and clean this laptop looks all of the time! The texturing on it is amazing too, and if you sign up for amazon prime, you get 2-day shipping. Its awesome.

Only problems ive had are that sometimes the mouse lags a bit...and the bottom of the shift button tends to pop up every now and then, but you sorta just slam it back down. :D

GREAT COMPUTER, GREAT PRICE, buy it...NOW.
