I had Sony build me a Vaio VPCF2190X with the i7-2820QM processor and 8 gb RAM. I have tried straining the CPU by running multiple large-task programs but the laptop doesnt slow down a bit. The HD/3D screen is stunning (vivid and clear picture). The numeric keypad is also a nice feature to have. Sony includes some useful programs with the laptop, too. I highly recommend the Vaio F2190X (or equivalent models). Extremely quick CPU with great graphics/screen.Read Best Reviews of Sony VAIO VPC-F215FX/BI 16-Inch 3D Laptop (Black) Here

I love the computer itself first off. The computing power more than meets my needs. I was shopping for the best 3D as well because a company called Yabazam was offering a 3D player and programs in 3D that was compatible with the Sony laptop. So, I looked at the technical specs and found this one.Buy HP Pavilion dv6-6150us Entertainment Notebook PC (Silver) Now
I've had this laptop for around a week now, and it's been running very well. It's more than able to handle basic tasks like web browsing and word processing. Video playback speed as well as gaming performance (in Portal 1 and 2) is also excellent. The built-in fingerprint scanner makes logging in to my Windows account as well as my other online account very easy and secure. I would prefer Windows 7 Professional instead of Home Premium, however. The built-in webcam is somewhat below par with a high latency and underwhelming quality. But those are just small gripes that are easy to overcome. All in all, it's a great laptopRead Best Reviews of HP Pavilion dv6-6150us Entertainment Notebook PC (Silver) Here

My dad actually gifted this laptop for me (broke college student definitely needs one). As a college student, I need something dependable, and I am also a mom, so I need something tough. The hp pavillion dv6 works for me. Since I am on this thing atleast 5 days a week I wanted something easy to use. There are a few downfalls which I think others have mentioned. The first is the touchpad. The left/right click don't have any seperation at all (my other computer there was a small piece of plastic in between so you could tell which one you were using. Even after I have had it a year, I still notice myself right clicking when I want to left click or vice versa (nothing to upsetting though...just an annoyance.) The other thing I noticed is when I had a mishap with my screen. While it was closed, my three year old actually stood on it not realizing what he was doing which resulted in a crack. I left it alone for awhile because my computer was functional. Then I put my bookbag (containing my computer) on the back of door with a hook on it. When my bookbag slide off I heard a big thud. All of that is essentially my fault, but to repair it I bought a screen online (I was informed by the computer help store on campus they should ONLY be between 50-80, mine was about 55) and took it to the school to get it repaired which they did for free. Anytime I have gone in there and say I have an HP everyone groans. The word is that HP makes great computers but they are NOT meant to be taken apart. My whole computer had to be taken apart (about 20 screws and four different sizes) and once the computer repair man had my screen he said the screen was glued in. They told me usually computer companies will just screw them in, or maybe even have some clip or latch system. So they had to bring out a screwdriver looking tool that made plenty of noise ( making me very nervous) and pry off the glued on screen to install the new one. Then he had to put it back together. He also said in the fall there was a piece on the lower bottom enclosure (which is plastic instead of aluminum like the top of the computer) that broke. I could ignore it, but he said if it was his computer, he would replace it because it can sometimes put pressure on the LCD screen and cause the screen to break easier. I am grateful they were able to do those services for me, but HP's overall are just not made to be taken apart. Now I am searching online for a hardshell case, laptop bag, and a new lower back enclosure and am having trouble finding anything about this computer. There are a lot of products that are advertising for the gv6 6xxx series and not the 3xxx series so you have to be really careful because there is also a 1xxx and 2xxx series as well. Even though they are little snags I would say all around I do really enjoy my computer.Buy Sony VAIO VGN-FW373J/B 16.4-Inch Laptop - Black Now

I researched laptops last year and put purchasing one off once again because I couldn't decided on a PC or Mac. In 2009 I decided to make the plunge. I looked at LED screens, Macs, solid state drives,....this video card that video card, shiny vs. none shiny, small vs. sorta small, and the list goes on and on. I knew I wanted something that looked intelligent, was designed well, had the latest or close to the latest technology, and performed well with graphic apps. I, like most, could not justify the cost of a Mac. For what I could get with this Sony I could not even come close with Mac.Want Sony VAIO VGN-FW373J/B 16.4-Inch Laptop - Black Discount?
:OVERALL:Buy Toshiba Portege R830-S8332 13.3" Notebook PC Now
This is hands down, the best computer I have ever used. It is super light, boots in seconds, opens programs instantly, handles web video perfectly, and it processes large files seamlessly. On top of all that, it is beautiful. It also has a great battery life. I haven't tested it for time, but I never worry about it. The laptop also runs very quiet and cool. Impressive. One reviewer on a similar model asked what the noise they heard inside was. Since it has a solid state hard drive, it has no moving hard drive parts. What you can occasionally hear is a variable speed fan that ramps up in speed if the processor is working hard. When the fan is running at high speed, it is still quieter than the hard drive of another computer I have on the other side of the room.Read Best Reviews of Toshiba Portege R830-S8332 13.3" Notebook PC Here
I purchased two of these laptops in January 2012. One for my husband and one for me. In March (3 months later), my husband's laptop screen went black. He couldnt see a thing. So Toshiba sent us a kit to ship the laptop back to them to be repaired. He got it back "fixed". But was never told what was wrong with it. The same thing happened again a few months later, but then mysteriously corrected itself withing a couple of days. Then in August 2012 the incident happened again but did not correct itself. So we called customer service. They told us they could "look at the codes" on his laptop and they said it was a virus. They told us we had to buy a 3 year service plan before they would help us. We didn't feel like we had any choice so we said okay and purchased it even though it was only 8 months old and the plan was expensive. We were on the phone for several hours with the technician and never got the problem resolved. So we asked for a refund and they would not give it to us. They were adamant and I was very upset. So after several months of the laptop collecting dust on a shelf, my husband took the laptop to a local repair shop. It turned out the problem was a loose wire. It probably occurred during the manufacturing process and the original repair never fixed the problem. The local repairman also pointed out where the Toshiba repair tech cracked the plastic around the screen and damaged the laptop. The local repairman charged us $60 to repair the loose wire. He said that Toshiba farms out repairs to small shops. Some shops are better than others. My laptop has worked fine. But because of that experience I won't purchase another Toshiba product.Want Toshiba Portege R830-S8332 13.3" Notebook PC Discount?
The laptop I received was working on a 32 bit system, although the seller claimed to be 64-bit.. I called to on-line service (very good Toshiba service) and we tried a few times to reset the computer to 64-bit.. after a while the system crashed and Toshiba recommended me to return it. So I did. I'm using now a 64-Bit Toshiba Portege 835 P92.. it doesn't have SSDrive or i7 but has a i5 2450M, 2.5 ghz and a 600Gb HD.. working perfectly for 6 months now.Buy Acer Aspire S3-391-9499 13.3-Inch Ultrabook (Champagne) Now
The laptop is so light I get nervous that I might hurt it --So far (6 months) I haven't. It's perfect in my backpack to take to class. Windows 8 is definitely something to get used to -It's truly my only complaint and is really about the operating system. Choose wisely my friend I would recommend getting a touch screen with Windows8 -I didn't get a touch screen and have to use an external mouse instead.--Get the touch screen!Read Best Reviews of Acer Aspire S3-391-9499 13.3-Inch Ultrabook (Champagne) Here
