Lenovo Ideapad U510-59355296 15.6" UltraBook Professional Laptop, i5-3317U, 6GB RAM, 750GB HD+ 24GB

Lenovo Ideapad U510-59355296 15.6' UltraBook Professional Laptop, i5-3317U, 6GB RAM, 750GB HD+ 24GB SSD, Windows 8Pros: 15.6" screen, DVD drive, 6 hr battery life, numeric keypad, price, lightweight, stylish, slim, backlit keyboard

Cons: faulty trackpad, no standard VGA port (mini VGA is non standard and adapter is not available), HDMI to VGA adapter not included

I really like the 15.6" screen, DVD drive and a numeric keypad, which are not common features in ultrabooks. These features are very important to me. Based on this, I would rate this 5/5. However, the unit I received had a faulty trackpad. It randomly jumped around on click gestures, moved and clicked at random, was sluggish, didn't register scroll gestures correctly. Tweaking settings and sensitivities did not help. Without a properly functioning trackpad, I found the laptop to be useless and had to return it. I gave it a score of 2/5 because even though it has all these awesome features, a fundamental component was faulty. I'd rather have a basic laptop that works than a fancy one that doesn't quite work. Other than the trackpad, I totally loved this laptop.

The unit I received had an ELAN trackpad. For comparison, my old Dell has a Synaptics trackpad, and I have never had a problem with it.

Great laptop it's very quick and stylish. it has a lot of the nice features like a dedicated restore button, a backlit keyboard (which is awesome at night!) Super light weight and a great screen. I also feel in love with the HDMI port, its so nice to not have to fight with streaming it to the tv just plug it in and your done.( I use Logitech's touch mouse server on both the computer and my smart phone to control it from across the room and to freak out my girlfriend) The only problems I have it's a fingerprint Magnet, the speakers are not as robust as i would like them to be and windows 8.... Windows 8 is nice but it's built for a touch screen, and makes it sometimes hard to use with the track pad. All and all a great buy!

Gateway MT6840 15.4-inch Widscreen Notebook Computer PC

Gateway MT6840 15.4-inch Widscreen Notebook Computer PCI added 1GB of RAM (to 2GB) before even booting up out of the box, which I regret now, just for curiosity reasons, but so far I am very pleased with the twin-core MT6840. I had a Gateway MX7118 before and loved the widescreen display, and I wasn't about to spend a thousand or more bucks on a high-end laptop. I realize you get what you pay for usually, but if you're budget-conscious you could do a lot worse than the MT6840. Battery life is roughly 3 hours. Streaming HD TV video from ABC is flawless on the MT6840; the same video still stops and starts on my AMD Sempron desktop with 1.5 GB RAM. And so far, Vista has been a pretty pleasant experience. Like anything else new, it takes some getting used to.

ive owned this laptop for about a year.

i never had any problems with it.

for the price i think its a great little laptop.

What a bargain for the price..does everything I want it to. I run two businesses now when I'm on vacation, no lost business because of slow responses. Bright screen, easy keyboard, and the kids watch dvds in the car, during those long boring(?) stretches of Nevada Desert.. These are still selling elsewhere for $799 and up

This animal is older than the hills. It actually came with Windows Vista. I only bout the critter for something to use while having another system updated. The selling point was being able to see the 15 inch screen which was a good size for the time. This wireless "g" is still in the main stream today and wireless N devices also accept it.

I have recently updated the ram form two .5GB to two 2GB sticks. The system recognized the update immediately. The system came with a restore partition but I never trust them and have external disks in case of a virus or anything physical. I also updated to Windows 7 and anticipate trying Windows 8.

Just a note that unless you are ept and can adjust to the exterenal wrld without help from the manufaturer this may not be the best way to go. Personally I find the challenge fun.

I am extremely happy with this laptop so far. Perhaps my expectations weren't that high, given that I've always used 2nd hand laptops for serving music on my stereo system. But this unit delivers. Also there are occasions when you can get it with a nice rebate. The specs speak for themselves. After a couple of hours of deleting unwanted programs and modifying the system so it behaves how I want it to, I am quite pleased.

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E430 3254 - 14" - Core i3

Lenovo ThinkPad Edge E430 3254 - 14' - Core i3Bought this for my daughter. She's been really happy with it. Get's great battery life and does all the basics really well.

I just wanted to warn everyone from buying this or other products from ANTOnline (ANTOnline.com).

I bought this laptop from ANTONLINE and he sold the laptop as new but I later found out that it was already used. Several weeks ago it began to turn off for no reason so I contacted Lenovo Technical Support--since it still was supposed to have warranty (I bought it on November 22, 2012 and the PC stated it had 1 year of warranty) so Lenovo told me that the warranty had expired on May the 3rd 2013. They asked for the machine number and Serial and said it had been used on March 7th 2012. I have contacted the seller and I haven't received any reply leaving me with the only option to leave a negative feedback.

A WORD OF ADVISE:

>>CHECK the SERIAL and MACHINE number with Lenovo and see whether it has been used.

Rain Computers Livebook A2 LA2-02 15.6-Inch Laptop (Black/Silver)

Rain Computers Livebook A2 LA2-02 15.6-Inch LaptopI bought this laptop because I needed a powerful yet inexpensive laptop to use with software for creating music. This is a powerful computer that is consistently fast, does not overheat due to the top of the line cooling fans that are installed inside. It hooks up to my HDTV through the HDMI port using an HDMI cable and the picture is top quality HD! I can use this feature to turn my 50" TV into a computer monitor! I watch movies, play games, and I use it for both of my jobs. I use it to create music and you really can't beat the price for the performance that you get. The RAIN support team is knowledgeable, positive and friendly. I have decided to always buy RAIN computers from this point forward based on my experience with this RAIN livebook laptop! I HIGHLY recommend this!

I found this machine through the Warehouse Deals section of Amazon. Not sure why it was there, as the machine was perfectly fine. Only thing wrong with it is that the glidepoint design could be better it's hard to type without inadvertent cursor jumps happening. I've had to resort to using a mouse and just turning off the glidepoint altogether. Annoying if you're ever on the go with this machine (it cancels out the value add of having a glidepoint).

Other than that, runs like the champ I expected. There was a problem with the battery not charging all the way, but I submitted a ticket to Rain, got a couple things to try in response, and before long, the issue was resolved the battery now fully charges to 100%. (Whoever decided to return this A2 back to Amazon so I could pick it up for more than half off, THANK YOU!!)

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 13.3-Inch Convertible Touchscreen Ultrabook (Clementine Orange)

Lenovo IdeaPad Yoga 13 13.3-Inch Convertible Touchscreen UltrabookI have had almost all touch screen ultra books and I have to say this is the best one.

1st Reason is it is convertible, I mean you can twist this thing to your comfort level without a doubt

2nd It is a fast and very good looking ultra book, it has a lower screen resolution than most but the screen it very nice and watching movies on it in HD is unbeatable

3rd its Lenovo, Leading company in business Computers in the world and now taking a strong approach to personal use.

4th Tablet mode, how many ultra books are there in this generation that full converts over to tablet mode with full responsive screen?

5th Price, when you compare the price against its competitors it is right there and almost cheaper than most with such power like the i5 and 4gb of ram

6th very good gaming graphics, playing a video game holds up very well and that video game could be the latest in the industry.

7th Did I mention it is eye catching?

Thank you

Out of the box it was a lovely looking unit with a great looking display. However as soon as I clicked on the EULA, the system enabled the orientation sensor, which wasn't properly oriented and caused hours of issues. Two runs through Windows Update, a BIOS upgrade, and using Windows Services to turn off the YMC service finally got the system into a state where it could be used.

System is great for reading and programming, and even does graphic intensive games pretty well if you run in "Medium" mode. It can get a little warm if you are actually using it in your lap, and it's a little heavy to use as a tablet if you don't have a stand.

Still glad I got this, but for $1K I would really expect Lenovo to make sure these things shipped in fully working order.

13.3" ultrabook that converts to a tablet... full microsoft office in tablet mode what's not to love. ... Battery life is pretty decent, better than my macbook pro for sure.... Only things that could have been better:

1. The screen is a bit glossy and hard to read in sunlight, but no different to a standard laptop or tablet.

2. The trackpad left/right buttons sometimes stick, nothing a double click won't sort.

I really only use it in tablet mode on an aeroplane or my sofa, so the fact it weighs more than the i Pad is mostly irrelevant to me... the overall weight of this device is much less than the combined weight of the iPad and macbook pro it is replacing, so my shoulder is very happy with the reduced weight on my travels, and now only one device to remove from my bag for airport screening.

yoga is for me a very nice/trendy laptop.. I like it a lot.. the only problem... capacity. quite reduced compared with others

The screen is big enough to get serious work done. The entire computer is small enough to bring anywhere as well as use as a leisure device on the couch. The combination of touch and the ability to fold the device in any direction gives it a unique more customized feel. Like playing with clay or your favorite office chair that has 12 adjustments to give you the right fit for the mood of the moment.

The materials and orange finish are fantastic. My only complaint is its not fan-less/silent like an ipad. You get used to that silence but a trade off I'm willing to make since its flippin fast.

HP G60-235DX Laptop Notebook

HP G60-235DX Laptop NotebookThe HP G60-235DX is the laptop computer I'm on right now! I love this computer it has 3 Gigs as opposed to the laptop I actually bought for myself which has 4 gigs. But, it starts up in a flash unlike the 4 Gig Lenovo. We have several laptops in our home because my husband has one for his work, I have one for mine, we have one we do most of our financial stuff and other important work on. Then our daughter in college has a laptop, and a couple for our other kids. We don't want our youngest running with one which he does so we also have to have a more inexpensive desktop.

One of the things I love most about this computer is the feel if you're familiar with computers, and know the feel of a Compaq as opposed to an HP, this one feels like a Compaq. I know Compaq is made by HP, but they truly do have a different feel.

The keyboard is a little wider, so sometimes my fingers go to the wrong keys, but the keys are pretty effortless not "clicky" like some keyboards. The shell is shiny black, but fingerprints aren't too bad, and the inside is a smooth fingerprint-less stainless color inside. Very sharp looking, a little bigger than our Lenovo, but a great sitting around the house computer. The feel is a little heavier than the Lenovo, but probably pretty standard for a computer this size.

One thing we didn't like was that the spare battery quit working for some unknown reason about 3 months after we got it, and it was the battery this computer calls for. We didn't know the battery wasn't working except the computer just stopped working after a couple of months. I was so upset we don't spend this kind of money only to have a computer stop working that quickly. My husband took it, and just happened to plug a Dell battery into it, and low and behold the computer worked! I was thrilled I hadn't been able to use the computer in about a week! I'm so glad it was the spare battery and not the computer!

Overall this is my favorite laptop....well...our daughter's is burgundy, and that would be so sweet, but despite the color, I do love this computer and would recommend it to anyone who was looking into purchasing a new laptop. The price was somewhere around $600 our 4 Gig Lenovo was approx $650, so I guess the price is pretty standards.

This computer is reliable and intuitive. I love the huge bright screen for movies and the easy of utility regarding the wireless set-up. The number pad on a laptop computer keyboard is also a favorite.

This laptop comes with a faulty built-in microphone that makes the built-in cam, well, useless. What's more, the folks at HP KNOW that it's faulty but will not repair it. In addition, the Vista os is always coming up with either a new hangup or an imcopatibility issue with peripherals. Do yourself a favor and check out the discussion boards for this item on the HP website itself.

The laptop is pretty good! The wide screen is convenient for me to write programs. The speed is also very fast. But there is a problem about this product. The time system seems not correct some time, even after i ajust it. How can i solve this problem?
