Pros: Windows 7 was one of the main reasons I decided on this computer. I didn't want to buy Office or my other software programs again which you would have to with Windows 8. Screen resolution is really nice. Everything is crystal clear and sharp. I like the matte screen which has a wide range of adjustable brightness without the glare. Back-lit keyboard is a plus. The keyboard is nice to type on; I was afraid it would feel a little shallow after some reviews I read but the key depth is just fine. I don't use the mouse pad, I've never liked them so I can't say much about that. It is very quiet. There are two settings which determine how the fan runs, but even when its on, it is fairy quiet. Battery life seems to be pretty decent. Not much bloatware to uninstall. I've had computers that were completely loaded with useless programs but this one is not. Has an optical drive, which is rare for it being such a thin and light weight computer.
Cons: Not many really. Like I said it has an optical drive which is a slot loading one. When you boot up or come out of sleep mode and open the laptop it always runs and makes noise for a couple seconds. I disabled it but to no avail it still spins up every time! It's not a deal breaker by any means. The lid was not quite what I was expecting. I thought magnesium alloy was a metal type material however the lid certainly looks and feels like plastic. It is a rougher feeling plastic though, like I said not flimsy. I quickly got over it though, its a nice looking computer.
Overall I am very happy with it. I spent $800 which was a little more than I originally wanted to spend but I feel it was worth it. I hope to keep this laptop for a long time.great laptop, very light and is working great. very little setup to get it ready to use. I like the backlit keyboard.
