i was looking for a laptop that was lighter and better made than my Dell D620. This one fit the bill. Toshiba did not lie about the weight like Dell. The D620 was 1/2 pound heavier than adverized with the battery out. The Toshiba weighs less than half what the Dell does, withthe battery in, and meets the spec.The display is very good, beats the Dell hands down, and has enough viewing angle that I cna acutally use it in coach class. Battery life is around 3 hours for my useage which is disk and CPU intensive, Circuit modeling and lots of spreadsheet recalcualtions.
Time will tell if it is more reliable, but I can't imagine it would be less.
