Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon (34442HU) 14" Ultrabook Core i5-3427U 1.8GHz 4G DDR3 128G SSD (Windows 7 Professional)This is my first lightweight computer. I bought it as a temporary replacement to a broken mobile workstation Dell Precision M4500 that weights 6.6 pounds. I was amazed about the weight and the nice soft black finish. The screen is good, I have not used it outside yet tho. Battery life is amazing (I am comparing it to the workstation) and I can do pretty much the same stuff albeit with a slower pace. After trying it I decided to keep this ultrabook for the road and give the workstation a vacation treatment and let it stand in the desktop for the heavy work (CAD user and lots of cpu intensive software). The keyboard is excellent and the trackpad is ok, I have to get used to it and the gestures seemed to work better in the workstation. You will notice the lack of USB ports right away (it only carries 2, 1 usb 2.0 and 1 usb 3.0) I don't use the camera so I can't give you an idea about it and the speakers sound good for the size (try it in a hard surface so the sound bounces of it). One thing is that you must get used to just 128 GB in this model since upgrading to 256 is in the expensive side. So far very satisfied with the purchase.
