This Laptop is not for everyone. It is large, it is a bit heavy, so if you plan on traveling a lot with it, there might be better choices.

What it is, is a very fast Laptop, with a huge battery that one can do desktop work on for hours on end.

They rate the battery life at 10 hours...don't know if that is true, but 6 hours was easy.

It has a lovely, large screen and very nice keys.

This is our car travel laptop (we have a small computer for long distance use), and our remote video, photo processing computer.

Nice computer that does exactly what one would expect.

I had to have the keyboard replaced on my computer (my fault, not the machine's), and HP customer service not only did it fast, but also replaced other components with better ones while they were at it and gave me an extra battery.

Other than that, I couldn't be happier with this computer and I've had it since February or so. The aluminum body is slick and it runs very cool. It's very light for its size and has great battery life (8 hours on mine). I use it to play some games, too, and it does fine with most popular game titles. For the price, you can't beat it!

A friend who is an IT bigshot recommended this computer to me as an excellent value for the price. I like the machine very much. True, as laptops go, it is on the large size. Therefore, it would be better to think of it as a portable work station. I like the size because of how comfortable that makes it to use the keyboard. If looks matter to you, the computer's beautiful design will appeal to you also.

Cons 1. The screen's got a very reasonable viewing angle, but I'm spoiled by my desktop's amazing LCD. Most people wouldn't complain.

2. Hard drive light is on the side, so you can't really see it during use. 3. You'll occasionally get some weird flickering lines on the screen. I suspect this is a driver issue, but either way, putting the computer in standby and waking it again fixes the issue.

Almost every laptop has some fatal flaw (2 USB ports, small screen, 4GB of RAM [paging kills your computer's performance more than anything else], speakers you can barely hear, hideous appearance, annoyingly large logo stealing space from the screen, etc.) This laptop has no such flaws. I've always built my own computers and felt sorry for (read: laughed at) people who bought pieces of junk that didn't have enough RAM, didn't have discrete graphics, etc. This is the first sub-$1,000 computer that has ever impressed me. HP hit all the right spots. I'm difficult to impress, but they've done it. 95/100. This is an amazing product.

I am very happy with my laptop and I would recomment this product to anyone that wants

a new laptop and large screen. If you are a gamer this is perfect for you. I play

skyrim on this laptop and had no issues. No hesitations at all. love it.
